Chapter 43 - Chapter 43– Little Things Called Love

(Jayjay's POV)

The classroom was already filled with chatter when the teacher walked in, carrying a stack of books. Keifer sat beside me, his shoulder still bandaged, but the calm look on his face made it seem like nothing had happened.

"Mr. Watson," the teacher said, stopping right in front of him. "You've been missing for a few days, and now you show up with an injury. Mind explaining what happened?"

Everyone turned to look at him — even Adrian peeked up from his phone.

Keifer smiled politely. "Ah, it's nothing serious, ma'am. I was helping my cousin move some stuff at home, and a shelf decided to fall on me."

The class laughed softly, and even the teacher sighed. "You really should be more careful, Mr. Watson."

"Yes, ma'am," he said, smiling as if he actually meant it.

I tried not to giggle. Only I knew the real story — and it definitely didn't involve a falling shelf.

When the bell rang for break, the classroom turned lively again. Section E didn't even bother to leave — too lazy, as usual. Ciel was sketching something, Yuri was half asleep, and Adrian was scrolling through his phone pretending not to care.

Keifer leaned toward me, voice soft. "You're smiling again."

"I'm not."

"You are."

"I said I'm not!"

He grinned. "You're terrible at lying, you know."

Before I could reply, a crumpled paper hit Keifer on the head. Adrian, of course.

"Hey, lovebirds!" Adrian said with a grin. "Can you not turn this classroom into a rom-com set?"

Everyone burst into laughter.

"Get a room," Yuri added lazily.

"Or a whole house," Calix chimed in.

Keifer turned around with the calmest face and said, "We already have one. But thanks for the suggestion."

The class lost it.

I groaned, covering my face. "You're impossible."

He gently lowered my hands, his smile soft this time. "And you love that about me."

I rolled my eyes, but deep down, I knew he was right.

Maybe I did.
