Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Mosquito-Repelling Artifact — Liushen Toilet Water

Of course, Xia Chuan had no idea that his casual exclamation had produced a shockwave powerful enough to rupture the tiny soldiers' eardrums, leaving them almost completely deaf.

Right now, he only wanted to deal with the annoying swarm of insects in the forest.

Whoosh!

The next moment, Xia Chuan pulled out a small bottle of Liushen Floral Water from his pocket. It was a common mosquito repellent — just a few sprays were enough to make the surrounding mosquitoes and bugs flee in terror.

This was one of the survival artifacts he always carried when venturing outdoors.

In any place swarming with mosquitoes, Liushen Toilet Water was the ultimate solution.

"Perfect."

Without hesitation, Xia Chuan aimed the bottle toward the dense cloud of insects and pressed the nozzle. A fine mist burst forth, cascading like heavy rain and filling the air with a fragrant vapor.

---

Meanwhile, the army of the Chen Kingdom froze in shock.

In their eyes, the Ancient God before them had suddenly taken out a mysterious divine artifact and raised it toward the heavens.

The next instant, the sky was engulfed in an overwhelming downpour. Torrential rain covered a radius of hundreds of miles, shrouding the entire jungle in thick mist.

Within seconds, the fog spread across the battlefield, enveloping every soldier in its chilling grasp.

Dong, dong, dong!

One after another, the soldiers collapsed to the ground, their faces contorted in agony. They had no idea what was happening — all they could sense was a strange fragrance in the air. Moments later, their bodies convulsed violently, foam gathered at their lips, and blood seeped from their noses and mouths.

Within a single breath's time, thousands of soldiers had perished, poisoned without mercy.

"Damn it—! It's a poisonous mist! Poison gas!"

"Cover your mouths and noses! Don't breathe it in!"

"It's useless! The poison seeps through the skin! Even contact means death!"

"It's over! We've angered the Ancient God! He's summoned divine punishment upon us — poisonous rain to wipe us out!"

"Damn you, General! You've doomed us all!"

Cries of despair and horror echoed through the jungle. Countless soldiers cursed their fate and their commander, regretting ever daring to challenge a being they couldn't comprehend. If only they had not attacked the deity, they might still have lived.

Now, they had committed blasphemy — and divine retribution was swift.

"Retreat! Run for your lives!"

The Chen Kingdom's general was utterly terrified. Even after taking a single breath of the mist, he could feel the venom coursing through his veins. If not for his cultivation as a Gold-ranked Warrior, whose constitution offered some resistance to toxins, he would already be dead.

Panic seized him. Without a second thought, he turned and fled, abandoning his soldiers and guards. All he could think was that he needed more legs to run faster.

Moments ago, he had boldly declared his intent to slay a god. Now, his "divine opponent" hadn't even lifted a finger — just a single wave of his hand had summoned a rain that annihilated a hundred thousand troops.

If he stayed any longer, death was certain.

---

"Huh? Liushen Floral Water is this effective as a mosquito repellent?"

Xia Chuan blinked in surprise.

Back on Xuanhuang Star, Liushen Floral Water did have decent repelling properties — its cool, minty scent kept mosquitoes away for a few hours at best. But it was far from lethal; certainly not strong enough to kill anything.

Yet here, in this world, its effects were nothing short of miraculous.

Then again, perhaps it made sense.

For humans, Liushen Floral Water was merely a refreshing, aromatic cologne — but its fragrance contained trace amounts of chemical compounds mildly toxic to insects.

In humans, that toxin was completely harmless, negligible.

But for these tiny creatures — smaller than ants — it was deadly poison, the equivalent of humans inhaling arsenic or a cloud of pure carbon monoxide.

And judging by what he'd just witnessed, these miniature people's resistance to toxins was extraordinarily weak.

A single drop was enough to kill.

Within moments, nearly all of the tiny soldiers had perished. Only a handful remained alive — pale, trembling, and barely clinging to life. Even those who survived suffered terrifying aftereffects from the toxin, their bodies wracked with pain and spasms.

"Wait a second… these aren't insects at all."

Xia Chuan frowned, leaning closer.

The thick mist had obscured his vision earlier, and he had assumed those moving figures on the ground were just oversized ants or strange forest bugs.

But now, as he looked more carefully, he realized that they weren't insects in the slightest — they were humanoid. Perfectly formed little people, their features delicate and distinct, though each was no larger than a fingernail.

In fact… they were even smaller than ants.

It was the first time Xia Chuan had ever seen such creatures — tiny humans, alive and real.

"Could this be… the world of miniature humans?" he murmured.

A spark of fascination lit his eyes. The thought sent a thrill down his spine. It was like something straight out of Gulliver's Travels — yet here it was, right before his eyes.

Reality and fantasy had merged.

He had truly stepped into a world of miniature beings.
