Chapter 35 - Did I Just Pick Up a Pufferfish?!

It seemed like the girl had just gone through a fierce battle.

Kiana emerged from the subspace with the unconscious girl in her arms, returning to the real world—the shrine.

The Honkai Energy levels here were already slightly elevated.

If she left this severely injured girl here unattended, she'd probably be consumed by the energy in no time.

Carefully, Kiana placed her on the bed.

"She looks like she just fought a war… struck by lightning, body burning hot…" She paused, remembering the collapsing dimension she'd just escaped. "Could she have been fighting Almighty Thunder—and got struck by his lightning?"

It was a wild guess, but one that didn't seem impossible.

"…If she really was hit by lightning, why isn't her hair burned off? That's not scientifically possible."

Kiana sighed, pressing her hand lightly against the girl's cheek—her skin was scorching to the touch.

Her body temperature was easily over forty degrees.

But she was still alive.

Maybe she had fought Almighty Thunder and barely survived. Her physique must've been far beyond that of an ordinary human.

Still, Kiana couldn't tell how good her recovery rate was.

What should she do?

Kiana frowned at the unconscious violet-haired girl lying on the bed.

To be fair, the not-yet-fully-cooked girl was quite beautiful—and her striking hair color made her stand out.

Pushing away any stray thoughts, Kiana hesitated for a long moment, staring at the girl she'd gone out of her way to save.

"Well… I already saved her, so I might as well see it through."

The girl's condition looked terrifyingly fragile—one wrong move and she might stop breathing altogether.

Kiana opened her Shop interface. She remembered seeing a two-star spray-type weapon that had healing properties.

"Found it! Healing Spray!"

There weren't many two-star items, but in the spray category, she located what she needed and bought it for 100 Honkai Cubes.

[HECO Healing Spray (★): Restores a small portion of HP per use. Ammo: 16/16 (Refills every 24h)]

A small bottle with a red cross appeared in her hand. Without hesitation, Kiana aimed it at the unconscious girl and pressed the trigger.

The healing mist covered the girl's body, but nothing happened—she remained unconscious.

Kiana wasn't surprised.

The item description was clear—it only restored a small amount of life. And this girl was basically on the brink of death.

She used all sixteen sprays, emptying the canister. The violet-haired girl stayed still—a sleeping beauty.

"Seriously? A hundred Cubes and nothing?!"

Kiana frowned and reached out, pressing her hand against the girl's cheek again.

"Hmm… the temperature's dropped a bit. So it is working…"

The ammo refilled automatically every 24 hours, which was good. But could she really leave the girl like this until tomorrow?

Listening to the faint, fragile sound of her breathing, Kiana grimaced. "At this rate, she'll be cold and stiff before morning."

She sighed, opened the Shop again, and bought another healing spray. Then, combining it with the used one, she performed an upgrade.

[HECO Healing Spray (★★): Restores a moderate portion of HP per use. Ammo: 16/16 (Refills every 24h)]

Full ammo, improved effect—the healing output had clearly increased.

How much, though, was anyone's guess.

"Well, if she can survive this, earning back the investment shouldn't be hard," Kiana muttered, half to herself.

She sprayed all sixteen doses again, using every shot on the unconscious girl.

Even so, Kiana didn't expect her to wake up that easily.

After all, this was just a two-star item.

Still, being reusable with daily refills made it a valuable tool—definitely a keeper.

No one could guarantee they'd stay unhurt forever.

And she'd already been injured two days in a row. The only reason she could shrug it off was her abnormal healing factor.

Wait… did that mean she'd been beaten up for two straight days?

"…I really need to find some farming partners next time."

"Uhm…"

After taking all thirty-two doses of healing spray, the girl finally let out a faint groan. Kiana's eyes widened in surprise, and she quickly turned toward her.

The violet-haired girl's eyelids twitched, then slowly opened to reveal dazed, unfocused golden eyes.

"You're finally awake," Kiana said, flashing her brightest smile and leaning closer. "Do you remember who you are?"

She needed to make sure the girl's brain hadn't been fried—after all, that kind of fever didn't seem remotely human. It'd be a real tragedy if such a beautiful girl had been struck dumb.

The violet-haired girl blinked slowly at the unfamiliar voice, her eyes gradually regaining focus. Those golden irises shimmered faintly as she rasped, "…I'm… still alive?"

Her voice was dry and hoarse.

Kiana lightly smacked her forehead, rummaged through her bag, and produced a bottle of water. She twisted the cap open and placed it on the nightstand beside the bed.

"Of course you're still alive," Kiana replied with a teasing grin, curiosity flickering in her gaze—especially toward those unusual golden eyes. After a short pause, she asked, "…Can you sit up?"

Those eyes—wait, the pupils looked like two intersecting crosses.

Like someone had sliced an 'X' into a mushroom.

Violet hair, golden eyes marked with an X-pattern, and a faint resonance with the subspace…

The girl tried to move her arm, but her body was weak. Seeing her struggle, Kiana quickly stepped forward and helped her sit up.

"Where… is this?"

By now, the girl seemed to be thinking more clearly. She frowned, scanning the room. It wasn't a base—or a hospital.

Kiana handed her the water and, while doing so, tried to process the nagging suspicion growing in her mind.

"Has… the battle ended?" the girl asked faintly.

"…I don't really know what you're talking about," Kiana replied, though in her heart she was already certain—this girl was from Yae Sakura's side.

"Obviously, this is my room for the time being," Kiana said, sitting back down at the bedside and studying the girl—who, to her, looked suspiciously like a certain 'pufferfish' lady.

Violet hair alone wouldn't have made her think of Sirin—but those X-patterned eyes? That brought back… memories.

Yeah. This was full-on pufferfish energy.

The violet-haired girl blinked, then cast another glance around the simple, clean room.

It was a regular house.

"…You were the one who saved me?" she asked.

This wasn't a hospital.

The memory hit her—her battle with Almighty Thunder, the devastating blow that had nearly obliterated her. Just before losing consciousness, she'd managed to send the blade Sky back to the real world.

She had taken the full brunt of Almighty Thunder's divine judgment—and survived?

Even without a finishing strike, being cast into the Imaginary Space should have erased her completely.

Yet here she was.

"I was the one who brought you back," Kiana confirmed. "Do you remember who you are? You were in bad shape when I found you—your body temperature was ridiculously high."

"…Thank you."

The girl's expression softened into a dazed, faraway look. She almost seemed convinced that this was all a dream—some comforting illusion before death.

"…Also," she murmured after a pause, "my name is Sirin."
