On the Nebel Plateau, with Diancie at the center, everything was covered in flowers.
And atop a cliff, in the distance of that plateau, a special figure stood, staring intently at the flowered plain. Her multicolored eyes seemed able to pierce through that immense distance.
On her head, the horns that spread like petals gleamed. The one that had once been a light-blue horn now displayed countless radiant tips of different colors.
Her legs rested on the ground, and one of her front hooves rubbed constantly.
Xerneas.
She was watching Diancie, who had just finished her transformation on the Nebel Plateau.
A faint murmur came from her mouth.
A current of strange energy emerged from her body and shot directly toward Diancie.

Cain, who was holding a simple exchange with Diancie, perceived with his psychic power that energy approaching.
A hint of surprise appeared on his face.
"This energy... could it be...?" Just as the idea formed in his mind, he saw it strike swiftly.
It wasn't aimed at Diancie herself, but at the small horn floating above her head.
The speed was such that there was no time to react.
In an instant, the energy merged with the horn.
"So it really is her?" Seeing this, Cain understood.
It was Xerneas' energy.
Then, when he had tried to capture Volcanion, had it also been her who intervened?
Carbink's transformation into Diancie had drawn Xerneas' attention.
Or perhaps, from the moment she gifted that shed horn, she had already been watching.
Now, under Xerneas' power, the small horn began to change until it became a small, shining sphere.
"A Mega Stone!" Cain's heart gave a jolt.
What did this mean from Xerneas?
He couldn't understand her intentions.
Did she want Diancie, newly born, to already have access to her Mega Evolution?

The small horn finished transforming into a Mega Stone and slowly descended into the palm of his hand.
"Could it be because of the resonance between them both, being able to create life and control life energy?" thought Cain.
In the Pokémon world, besides Arceus, only Xerneas, goddess of life, could manipulate such energy. And Diancie too.
After all, Diancie could create Carbink, a gift no other Pokémon possessed.
Suddenly, an idea took root in Cain's mind.
The Fairy type had been discovered recently, and almost all knowledge of it was concentrated in Kalos. In other regions, Fairy-type energy was much weaker.
Or more so, compared to the other types, Fairy-type energy was the scarcest in the entire Pokémon world.
If Diancie managed to mass-produce large numbers of Carbink, Fairy-type energy could grow stronger.
But all this was nothing more than conjecture. The true thoughts of Xerneas were impossible to guess.
Cain looked at the Mega Stone in his hand, undecided whether to use it or not.
A deeper bond between him and Diancie was still missing to make the transformation possible.
At that moment, Magearna, who had danced until Carbink's metamorphosis was complete, carefully approached Diancie and greeted her sweetly.
Diancie, upon seeing her, also felt an immediate affinity.
It was no wonder: part of the final energy of her transformation had come from Magearna's Soul-Heart.
Diancie extended her hands, gathered energy, and created a pink diamond which she handed to Magearna.
Gazing at that gem, Magearna was dazzled. She hesitated to accept it, knowing it was an extremely precious gift.
Sensing her doubts, Diancie smiled and directly placed the diamond on her chest.
At once, Magearna showed an expression of pure delight.
After all, no girl could resist such a beautiful pink diamond.
As if to return the gesture, Magearna raised her right hand and, with a snap, made a bouquet of flowers appear.
Diancie, delighted, took one of those flowers and placed it on her head with a smile.
In that instant, the two Pokémon became friends.
Cain, witnessing the scene, was surprised at how quickly their bond had grown.
"I see... girls always know how to shorten distances in an incredible way."
With more calm, he finally had the chance to analyze Diancie's data.

Level 50 was irrelevant compared to such an increase in talent.
"Diancie, can you perceive the diamonds you create?" asked Cain.
He remembered that, if she didn't train, the diamonds produced by Diancie were beautiful but ephemeral, fading away shortly after.
"Yes! I can feel them clearly," she affirmed decisively.
Cain was somewhat surprised.
"And could you produce them in large quantities?" he pressed.
Diancie thought for a moment, as if she wasn't entirely sure either.
"Let me try!"
She raised her hands, and pink diamonds began to accumulate, slowly forming a massive crystalline vortex.
Diamond Storm!
Faced with so many "tasty" diamonds, Tyranitar and Aggron couldn't hold back.
When the attack ended, countless gems lay scattered across the ground. They shone in different sizes, transparent like crystal.
Tyranitar and Aggron didn't hesitate: each picked one up and put it in their mouth.
Upon biting, they felt as if they had chewed on emptiness.
Soon after, the diamonds on the ground disintegrated into dust, vanishing into the air.
Cain nodded calmly.
"Just as I thought, they still lack solidity."
Seeing Tyranitar's and Aggron's disappointment, Diancie focused again.
This time, after a longer effort, only two fist-sized diamonds appeared in her hands.
She handed them directly to the two Pokémon.
Though hesitant, they accepted and bit down decisively.
Craaaack!
The sound of their jaws made Cain's eyes shine.
