-------
The target of Tyranitar's Stone Edge move was directly locked onto Delphox.
Each rock was like a missile.
Although they were launched in different directions, under Tyranitar's control, they all seemed to have eyes and headed toward Delphox.
Delphox remained in place, her face slightly serious, and gently waved the burning staff she held in her hand.
Telekinesis!
But she didn't use the Telekinesis move on Tyranitar, but on herself, to quickly propel backward and create distance from him.
Chesnaught wasn't going to just stand still and watch Delphox being attacked either.
"Karōōn!"
With his roar, the spikes on his back emitted a glow once again.
But this time it wasn't the Pin Missile move.
What shot out were green, round objects like seeds, imbued with a faint glow.
Seed Bomb!
Seeing the incoming bombs, under Cain's direction, Tyranitar slightly slowed his advance, opened his mouth, and released a blazing flame.
The flames intercepted several of the bombs mid-flight.
They all exploded in the air.
The thunderous sound echoed in the sky, accompanied by the shockwave.
Although the Flamethrower move wasn't one of his main type moves, the power with which Tyranitar used it was nothing weak.
That was due to the energy he once absorbed from the Fragment of Groudon's armor; it came from the primal Groudon, not from a later incomplete Groudon.
Primal Groudon was a Ground and Fire-type Pokémon.
That's why Tyranitar's Flamethrower move was still extremely powerful.
The contact between the bombs and the flames further intensified the explosions.
However, some seeds, under Chesnaught's control, managed to avoid the fire and continued advancing toward Tyranitar.
Unfazed, Tyranitar extended his right hand and waved it in the air.
As if receiving an order, the sand from the ground quickly gathered.
In an instant, a sand wall rose in front of Tyranitar, against which the bombs crashed.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
They only managed to destroy the wall, without directly striking him.
But since Tyranitar had used Flamethrower and was also controlling the sand, his control over the rocks from Stone Edge weakened considerably, which allowed Delphox to successfully escape the siege.
Along the way, she even used psychic powers to shatter several stones.
Chesnaught's "saving the ally by attacking the enemy" effect had worked very well.
But it mustn't be forgotten that this was a double battle—how could it be enough to only face Tyranitar?
Behind him, Blaziken had finished using Swords Dance, and his power boost was complete.
Using Tyranitar's body as if it were steps, he leapt a couple of times and reached the air.
Freed from all speed restrictions, at that moment he was undoubtedly the fastest of the four Pokémon on the field.
From above, Blaziken scanned the terrain and locked onto his target.
The Grass-type Pokémon, Chesnaught, was his ideal target.
As he continued ascending, his entire body ignited in flames.
Within the crimson fire flickered golden flashes.
The reason he didn't use pure golden fire was because it consumed too much energy. With this mixture, the effect was hardly weaker and much more efficient.
Surrounded by flames, Blaziken looked like a small sun in the sky.
Although his ascent speed wasn't that fast, his descent, under his control, immediately became much quicker.
With one leg extended, all the flames on his body concentrated into it.
Blaze Kick!
As he descended, a wave of heat flooded the field.
Chesnaught's face changed; he clasped his hands before his chest, hunched slightly, and exposed the hard shell of his back to the attack.
A layer of light green energy covered his back.
Spiky Shield!
Similar to the move Protect, but with an additional effect: it reflected part of the damage back at the attacker.
Blaziken's attack could no longer be stopped.
Boom!
His leg struck directly against Chesnaught's back.
Due to Spiky Shield's effect, Chesnaught didn't move, while Blaziken recoiled with a spin, ending up kneeling on one knee, wounded by the reflected damage.
Taking advantage of Chesnaught's defensive posture, Tyranitar charged at him.
In his huge fist, a shard of glistening ice quickly condensed, aiming straight at Chesnaught's face.
But just before striking, a layer of psychic energy enveloped Tyranitar and pushed him back.
Delphox had protected him.
It was clear that the cooperation between Chesnaught and Delphox was very good.
They had probably lived together for a long time, and their synchronization was remarkable.
No wonder they had agreed to battle Cain in a two versus two.
Cain's mistake had been letting Blaziken use Blaze Kick without anticipating that combination. If they also let Chesnaught slip away, what kind of trainer would he be?
That's why Cain had already anticipated that move.
What was the best way to counter psychic powers?
Tyranitar opened his mouth again, revealing inside a wave of black energy.
Dark Pulse!
Before Delphox could pull Chesnaught away with Telekinesis, the Dark Pulse move struck him.
In an instant, the effect of the psychic-type move vanished.
And Tyranitar's Ice Punch crashed unhindered into Chesnaught's face.
Boom!
The roar was immense, followed by the ground sinking beneath them.
Tyranitar's fist wasn't something just anyone could withstand, especially after he had learned from Vigoroth techniques to further maximize his strength.
It was devastating!
Meanwhile, Blaziken had already recovered and, leaving Chesnaught behind, charged straight toward Delphox.
His speed had reached the limit.
The psychic-type moves Delphox cast were dodged with precision.
Worried about Chesnaught's condition, Delphox didn't move too far away, which for Blaziken was a matter of an instant.
Without the slightest mercy, he appeared right in front of her.
In her nervousness, Delphox waved her staff and cast Confuse Ray.
The Psychic-type countered the Fighting-type, and she still maintained enough calm.
But Blaziken was already prepared.
Aerial Ace!
Using the inertia of his spin, he quickly shifted to Delphox's back.
The combo was ready.
Launching himself from that position, he unleashed a punch to Delphox's back, sending her flying into the skies.
Then, with his legs still bent, he suddenly stretched.
The ground cracked beneath his feet as he propelled himself upward, faster than her.
And to finish the combo—High Jump Kick!
Boom!
Crash!
Delphox, just like Chesnaught, ended up embedded in a massive crater in the ground.
