"Blaziken, Swords Dance!" ordered Cain calmly.
Blaziken, upon hearing him, narrowed his eyes. Without hesitation, he launched into a combat dance.
He didn't think that receiving orders from his trainer made the fight unfair. He and Cain were one. Only by working together could they reach their true power. Otherwise, there would be no reason to Mega Evolve.
Greninja, circling around Blaziken, began generating illusionary replicas.
Double Team.
Blaziken, standing amidst all those clones, didn't seem disturbed.
"Feel it out. Remember what you learned from Vigoroth," Cain said in a low voice.
Hearing this, Blaziken slowly closed his eyes.
He began to rely on his instincts.
Greninja, seeing this, didn't waste the opportunity: all the replicas created two Water Shuriken in their hands and launched them simultaneously at the center.
Immediately, a swarm of Water Shuriken surrounded Blaziken.
Just before they struck, Blaziken opened his eyes.
Flames erupted from his legs. He spun through the air, executing a Blaze Kick that dispelled all the shuriken.
The contact of water with such high temperatures caused a cloud of steam that enveloped Blaziken completely.
Greninja's replicas were still active, but unable to see clearly, they didn't rush to attack.

A red silhouette suddenly burst from the steam, launching forward with great force.

But Blaziken didn't slow down. On the contrary, he became even faster. At the front of the Flame Charge, golden flames began to emerge.
Gradually, that golden fire enveloped the entire Flame Charge.
It was Blaziken's most intense flame!
The Water Pulse evaporated instantly.
Greninja was stunned, but reacted quickly. He extended his arms and created a wall of water like a shield.

Upon impact, Blaziken's fist collided directly with Greninja's crossed arms.
The force of the blow sent them both skidding back several meters. Greninja's replicas vanished immediately.
Blaziken had located the real Greninja.
At the point of impact, once again, flames emerged from Blaziken's fist, while aquatic energy flowed through Greninja's arms.

Water and fire made contact.

Both leapt back, landing on opposite sides.
But the moment they touched the ground, they launched themselves again, clashing at even greater speed.
Thanks to his Speed Boost ability, Blaziken wasn't at a disadvantage in terms of speed. In fact, the longer the battle went on, the more advantage he gained.

The fight shifted from long-range attacks to full-on close combat.
And there, Blaziken's Fighting type began to make a difference.
Greninja realized something was wrong. He kicked Blaziken's arm and, with a somersault, managed to create some distance.

Greninja had barely gained some space when Blaziken lunged at him again.

A strike that looked like Blaze Kick would transform into Double Kick.
A punch that seemed like Fire Punch also contained traces of Fighting-type energy, and was sometimes disguised with feints.
Blaziken wasn't just using fists and legs: he also used elbows, knees—his whole body as a weapon.
A long strike was strong; a short one, lethal.
Blaziken seemed to have grasped this key principle, and Greninja could do nothing but endure.
After all, in close combat, a Fighting-type Pokémon like Blaziken had a natural advantage.
Just when Blaziken felt he had the battle under control, something changed.
Greninja's eyes filled with aquatic energy, and suddenly, a torrent of water burst from his entire body, enveloping him completely.
Blaziken's Fire Punch failed to break through that torrent. He flipped backward and took some distance.
He wanted to see exactly what Greninja was doing.
Cain, sitting in his sand chair, watched the scene.
With Mega Evolution, he and Blaziken shared sensations. What Blaziken felt, he felt too.
They communicated telepathically as if they were one.
Their thoughts were completely synchronized.
