Chapter 3 - Beginning of a Never-Ending Cycle

Michael was filled with despair. He was plagued by hunger and didn't know what to eat. Around him, there was nothing but gigantic trees.

"Damn it, this body desperately needs food. It hurts."

Despite his situation, Michael tried to remain rational and decided to wander until he could find meat or dead animals to suck their blood from.

After a long trek, he found an animal carcass. The body was mutilated, and various insects, like ants and flies, were actively feeding on it. It was almost impossible to tell what kind of animal it had been, only that it was large.

Michael faced a dilemma. The humanity that still lingered within him found it repulsive to nibble on the animal's carcass, but he couldn't continue for long if he kept going. He desperately needed food.

Reluctantly, Michael approached the animal carcass until he stood before it.

"Damn it, if I were still human, I would have thrown up already. That damned demon, all because of him."

Michael, like the other insects, began feeding on the animal carcass. He was disappointed in himself; for the first time in his life, he felt a humiliation he couldn't put into words. A feeling of anger and revenge spread through him as he finished eating.

So the days passed, and Michael slowly got used to his new routine: running from animals every day and feeding on animal carcasses to avoid going insane. Out of boredom, he replayed old stories he had once read in his head and shouted out the names of his former favorite characters.

"Getsuga Tensho"

"Rasengan"

"Gomu Gomu no Gatling"

While shouting old attack names from the past, he arrived at a farm. He saw a large tomato field, quickly ran towards the tomatoes, and after a while, he arrived and began to eat them. The tomato was enormous compared to his small insect body, and he ate as if there were no tomorrow.

"Damn, this is so delicious! It feels so good! It's so refreshing! I could almost cry! This feels so good! Epicurus was right with his philosophy." Michael was overjoyed and continued eating happily.

Suddenly, a rooster escaped from one of the nearby stables. The rooster ran and trampled around the tomato patch, raging. Michael immediately stopped eating and was startled. His survival instinct made him run away. The rooster spotted him and chased after him. Michael can fly because one of his wings is broken.

"Damn it, if I were still human, I would have trampled that beast, damn it, damn it—"

The rooster pecked at the ground with its beak. Michael narrowly dodged, but he lacked the strength to run any further. Deep down, he knew he would die today, this time as a pathetic insect. The next moment, he was suddenly trampled by a human returning the rooster. His death was unexpectedly quick and painless. Michael sees the scene from a third-person perspective and finds himself in a ghostly body.

"Damn it, I died again, and this time I was just trampled as an insect. How humiliating!" Michael was furious about the experiences of this damned life.

Michael's ghostly soul form transformed back into his human form, and sparks flew around him as if something was charging.

"Is that demon calling me again? If I encounter him, I'll kill him."

Michael was full of fighting spirit, then the energy discharged, and his body shot through the sky with a blue glow, transcending space and time.

Michael found himself in a dark place. He saw various white threads around him—at least millions of them.

"Damn it, what am I supposed to do here? Wait, could it be 'that'?" "Haha hahah"

Someone like Michael, who read various series, had only one theory: that this place he was in was a kind of rebirth dimension, and that the white threads represented the different worlds into which he could be reborn. After a long period of despondency, Michael was excited, but he remained cautious.

"Finally, from here on out I can take my destiny into my own hands, finally! But I can't get careless. I have to find a thread that will make me an SSS-Class Hero, hehe." Michael clenched his fists in joyful anticipation.

Michael moved closer to a white thread and could make out images from the respective world. There was only a dog in each one.

"I'd better not take that one. I need a world where I can at least be human again." He felt the thread passively pull him in, like gravity. Cautiously, Michael moved away from the thread.

Out of the blue, another soul collided with his, and he was shoved into an unknown thread.

"No, damn it, you bastard, watch out!"

Only despair remained of his newfound hope, and Michael's soul was pulled into the thread.

"Nooooo!" Michael screamed in horror as his soul entered the thread. Next, everything before him went black.
