Ding Yuming and Huang Xingli were both Fire Mages, while Mu Lei was a Lightning Mage.
That meant all three of them had extremely powerful offensive capabilities!
Song Jie glanced at Mu Lei and instructed calmly, "Later, you three follow my command."
"Understood!" Mu Lei replied crisply, giving Song Jie a respectful salute.
Just as the two Wind Rider Sky Eagles ascended, Bai Liang and the others spotted them.
"How can there be two eagles!?" someone exclaimed in disbelief.
They remembered clearly—Song Jie's other summoned creature was a small vine-controlling beast!
Bai Liang and Dongfang Ming frowned, their faces filled with confusion.
However—
Seeing Song Jie flying toward them, Bai Liang quickly shouted, "Everyone, get ready! They're coming for us!"
A wave of tension swept through the crowd.
If Song Jie was coming straight for them, he must have a plan—and that made Bai Liang uneasy.
He barked out more orders, "Defensive Mages, raise your defenses! Don't let them get close! If we let them strike first, we're finished!"
"Attackers, be on standby! The moment they approach, unleash everything you've got!"
Everyone tensed up, their eyes locked on the sky, waiting for Song Jie's group to arrive.
Meanwhile, Mu Lei and Huang Xingli couldn't help but feel nervous as they looked down from above.
"Song Jie, what's the plan?" Mu Lei asked, tension creeping into his voice.
Song Jie smiled faintly.
"Don't rush. We're not the ones who need to panic. Let's wear down their patience first."
Down below, the students watching through the big screen frowned in irritation.
"Song Jie is such a jerk," someone muttered.
"He's just messing with them!"
Soon, Song Jie and his team arrived above their targets—but instead of attacking, they merely circled in the air, refusing to descend.
"What's he doing!? Playing games with us!?" someone on the ground yelled.
"I bet he's scared! He doesn't dare face us head-on!" another sneered.
Bai Liang glared sharply at them.
"Stay focused! He's definitely planning something!"
Ten minutes passed.
Mu Lei glanced down and couldn't help laughing.
"Song Jie, this move of yours is wicked! Look at them—they can barely stand anymore!"
Song Jie smirked.
You want to fight me?
Heh, I'll just toy with you instead.
His replicated summoned beast would remain stable as long as his summoning energy lasted.
Unless he dispelled it himself or one of them was destroyed, it would not disappear.
Bai Liang looked at the exhausted faces around him and knew this couldn't go on.
"Song Jie!" he shouted. "If you don't come down right now, you can forget about taking first place!"
Hearing this, Mu Lei frowned.
"What's their plan?"
Song Jie explained briefly, and Mu Lei's eyes widened.
"Damn… this is even more devious than before!"
"I'll go down and play with them," Song Jie said, smiling slyly. "You two wait here."
"Play with them?" Mu Lei echoed, puzzled. But he followed orders.
A moment later, Song Jie's Wind Rider Sky Eagle suddenly dove toward Bai Liang's group!
"Are we attacking?" Ding Yuming asked.
"Attacking?" Song Jie chuckled. "No. Just scaring them."
Ding Yuming blinked, confused—then watched as the eagle swooped down at full speed…
Just before entering their attack range, Song Jie sharply pulled the reins.
The eagle soared back up into the sky!
The participants below froze—then exploded in anger!
"Damn it!!"
"Is he treating us like monkeys!?"
Even the students watching on the big screen were shouting in outrage.
"This is too much!"
"That Song Jie is such a troll!"
"Good thing I didn't make it into the top ten, or I'd be losing my mind!"
Indeed—
The people below were at their limits.
They had been ready to fight to the death… but Song Jie simply refused to engage!
Now he was outright toying with them!
"Here he comes again!!" someone screamed.
Everyone immediately refocused, eyes locked on the sky.
But once again—Song Jie pulled up at the last second!
Their sanity was on the verge of collapse.
"SONG JIE, YOU—!!"
Curses filled the air as rage boiled over.
Bai Liang raised his voice, trying to keep them under control.
"Calm down! He's provoking you on purpose! Don't drop your guard! That's what he wants!"
The participants gritted their teeth, forcing themselves to stay steady.
Then—
"Look! The other eagle is coming down too!!" someone shouted.
Bai Liang's expression shifted.
"Prepare your defenses! This time, it's real!"
Song Jie and Ding Yuming launched their attacks first, blinding light and blazing fire bursting forth!
Because their opponents hesitated for a split second, Song Jie's spells struck true—
"Fiery Fist: Skyfire!"
"Glorious Light: Purify!"
Explosions rippled across the ground as several mages were blasted away before they could even defend!
"Damn it!" Bai Liang cursed. "We missed our chance to strike back!"
But before they could regroup—
"Watch out! The other side!" someone shouted.
Bai Liang's heart sank. He had nearly forgotten—there was another eagle!
The Wind Rider Sky Eagles were Warrior-level summoned beasts—fast, agile, and deadly.
While Song Jie distracted them, Mu Lei and Huang Xingli had circled around unnoticed.
Now—
"Thunderbolt!"
"Skyfall!"
"Fiery Fist: Burst!"
"Heavenly Roar!"
Lightning and fire intertwined, exploding across the battlefield!
The ground shook violently as several students were thrown into the air.
Panic spread through the ranks.
"Stay together!" Bai Liang roared. "Hold the formation! Don't scatter!"
But the formation was already breaking apart.
Under the dual assault from the sky, their defense collapsed completely!
This move—
was simply too cruel!
