Chapter 59 - Chapter 58: Has the Summoning Element Mutated Too?

"Damn, what is that?!"

"It's a flying summoned beast?!"

"Wait—how does he have two summoned beasts? Don't tell me his Summoning Element has already reached the Intermediate level!"

The crowd erupted in shock as they stared at the Wind-Riding Eagle soaring high above the arena. Confusion spread among the students—what they were seeing shouldn't be possible.

But no one had an answer.

The four challengers who had been so confident just moments ago froze where they stood.

The Wind-Riding Eagle circled once in the air, then suddenly let out a piercing cry and dove straight toward them!

"Move!"

The four panicked and scattered to the sides.

Whoosh!

The gale that followed the eagle's descent was so powerful that it sent all four tumbling backward.

One unfortunate student was even blown clean out of the competition area.

The remaining three scrambled to their feet—just in time to see the Wind-Riding Eagle swooping down again, talons gleaming like blades.

The three quickly retaliated, unleashing their magic toward the incoming beast—but it was useless!

The Wind-Riding Eagle was far too fast. Their attacks struck nothing but air, and even when they did connect, they barely left a scratch.

In an instant, the eagle seized two of them in its sharp claws.

"Don't grab me!"

"I'm afraid of heights! Mom—I want Mom!!"

The crowd collectively covered their faces in embarrassment.

The last student was an Earth Element mage. Against an opponent that ruled the skies, he could only watch helplessly.

Moments later, the Wind-Riding Eagle sent him flying too.

Up in the teachers' stands, astonishment rippled through the professors.

"Director Jiang, what's going on with your student Song Jie?" one of them asked.

Old Man Deng and several other instructors turned their attention to Jiang Yunming as well.

A single mage summoning two creatures? That was unheard of!

And more importantly, this wasn't even a Contract Summon—it was clearly a Dimensional Summon!

Jiang Yunming could only give a helpless smile. He was just as confused as the rest.

"Honestly… I didn't know he could do this either," he admitted after a pause.

Old Deng frowned. "You're saying you have no idea?"

Jiang Yunming nodded.

Even Dean Xiao arrived at that moment, clearly intending to ask the same question. When he heard Jiang Yunming's reply, he too was stunned, his expression thoughtful.

"One person summoning two dimensional beasts… this is completely unprecedented," a professor murmured.

Jiang Yunming thought for a moment, then offered a possible explanation.

"His Light Element mutated during awakening. Could it be that his Summoning Element has also undergone a mutation?"

The others exchanged uncertain glances—but it wasn't impossible.

Dean Xiao considered the idea carefully, then nodded. "It's likely. He may possess innate mutant abilities—his Light, Summoning, and even his yet-to-awaken element could all be affected."

The room fell silent as they digested this. Finally, one teacher chuckled.

"If that's the case, Mingzhu Academy has truly discovered a treasure."

Everyone silently agreed.

Song Jie's Light Element was already as strong as an Intermediate mage's, despite still being at the Basic level.

And now, even his Summoning Element could summon two dimensional creatures?!

Truly monstrous talent.

Back in the arena, Song Jie and the Wind-Riding Eagle continued their assault.

In no time, they had defeated up to two hundred and forty opponents—only ten away from the final goal of two hundred and fifty.

But by now, it was clear that Song Jie was nearing his limit. His breathing was heavy, his face pale with exhaustion.

"Five at once!" he called out.

He knew he couldn't endure more than two or three rounds in this state. By letting five opponents come at once, he could end things faster.

"Song Jie's been hovering up there this whole time," a student near Mu Nujiao whispered. "He's trying to recover his magic power. He's running out."

Mu Nujiao's heart tightened.

From one-versus-one-hundred, to one-versus-two-hundred, and now one-versus-two-hundred-fifty—Song Jie never stopped breaking limits.

He was always creating miracles.

"Come on, Song Jie… you can do it," Mu Nujiao murmured softly, eyes shining with anticipation.

At the entrance tunnel, the waiting students sensed their chance.

"He's exhausted!" one shouted. "This is it, brothers—everything comes down to this!"

"Defeat Song Jie!"

Five mages stepped out together, all wielding offensive elements—Thunder and Fire.

They had learned from the previous matches that other basic elements were nearly useless against Song Jie and his Wind-Riding Eagle.

With their combined firepower, even an aerial predator would struggle to withstand their barrage.

Song Jie turned to his companion, the Wind-Riding Eagle, and patted its powerful wings.

"If we win this round, I'll give you the blood of a refined beast," he said with a faint smile. "That blood can help you break through to the Advanced stage—maybe even reach Commander level one day."

The eagle's eyes gleamed.

"But I'll need you to handle this wave for me. Save the last one for me," Song Jie added.

He hadn't yet recovered his strength, so he needed the eagle to buy him time.

The Wind-Riding Eagle screeched in agreement.

"Good. It's up to you now." Song Jie stroked its feathers, then leapt onto its back.

Across the arena, the five opponents stood ready, their magic already crackling in their hands.

"The match begins!" the referee announced.

At once, lightning bolts and roaring flames filled the air.

Thunder and fire intertwined in a deadly storm aimed straight at the Wind-Riding Eagle.

Song Jie could smell the faint scent of singed feathers as the eagle swerved in midair, spiraling to avoid the attacks.

With a piercing cry, it dove toward one of the fire mages.

The others quickly retaliated, trying to cover their comrade.

But the Wind-Riding Eagle's focus was absolute—it locked onto its prey, weaving through the fiery blasts with incredible agility.

"Fire Explosion!" one thunder mage shouted, predicting the eagle's path.

A violent blast erupted midair, scorching the eagle's tail—but it didn't stop.

In the next instant, the eagle's claws gripped the lightning mage and flung him out of the competition area.

The remaining mages retaliated desperately, but the eagle was already too high, too fast—master of the skies.

It circled above, then struck again and again, eliminating two more mages with precise, devastating dives.

Only two remained standing.

Song Jie looked at the Wind-Riding Eagle's battered body, his expression softening.

"You've done enough. Go back and rest," he said quietly.
