Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Awakening My Second System!

Song Jie took the form, picked up a ballpoint pen, and went aside to fill it out.

Most of the information was basic personal details, so he completed it quickly.

"All done," he said, handing the form back to the female teacher.

She nodded. "Okay, you can go back now. Whether you pass or not, we'll notify you when the time comes."

Seeing this, Song Jie could only nod in response, though he remained confident.

He had no intention of revealing all his cards—but showing a glimpse of his mutated Light Element should be enough to impress them.

After all, even within Mingzhu Academy, an Intermediate Light Mage with mutated light magic that rivaled true Intermediate spells was exceptionally rare.

As long as the person in charge wasn't blind, there was no way they'd reject him.

The only pity was that he hadn't yet fully mastered the forty-nine stars needed to release Intermediate-level magic.

"Practice hard and unlock Intermediate magic as soon as possible," Song Jie told himself firmly.

Now that he had broken through to the Intermediate level, he could awaken his second element.

Controlling all forty-nine Light Element stars would take time, and he didn't want to waste his next evolution opportunity.

"Let's go for the second awakening first," he decided.

He had been thinking about his next element for a while and was still a bit conflicted.

Thunder and Fire were both powerful, but his Light Element was already strong enough to rival them.

Choosing another offensive element wouldn't make much difference.

It would be better to awaken something that could complement his existing abilities.

After careful thought, he chose the Wind Element.

If he could reach a high level in it, he could fly during combat—an incredible advantage in both mobility and survival.

Having made up his mind, he returned to his apartment and contacted the Magic Association in the Magic City.

Most mages could only awaken their new elements through the Association since it was strictly regulated.

To increase his odds of obtaining the Wind Element, he requested a Wind-type Guiding Stone, which would help steer the awakening process.

After confirming his appointment, Song Jie felt satisfied. He sat cross-legged on his sofa and meditated for the rest of the night.

The next morning, instead of hearing from Mingzhu Academy, he received a call from the Magic Association.

They told him to come immediately for his awakening.

Without hesitation, Song Jie hailed a taxi and headed there.

When he arrived, he was greeted by the sight of towering, gleaming buildings—modern and magnificent.

"It's pretty high-end," he muttered as he followed the crowd inside.

Soon, he found the floor dedicated to awakenings and approached the information desk.

"Hello, I'm here for an awakening," he said.

"Name?"

"Song Jie."

"Right. Please follow me."

The staff led him to a special room and knocked. "Mr. Guo, the next candidate is here."

"Let him in," came a voice from inside.

Song Jie entered and saw a man and a woman in lab coats surrounded by magic equipment.

"You're Song Jie?" the older man asked.

"Yes, sir."

"Good. I'm Guo Liyu, your awakening supervisor. You've chosen the Wind Element, correct?"

"That's right."

Guo Liyu nodded. "I can't guarantee success, but with the Guiding Stone, your chances are higher. Ready?"

"Ready."

"Then go ahead."

Song Jie stepped into the dim awakening chamber.

At the center stood a glowing stone—the Awakening Stone.

He approached it with excitement, placed his hand on it, and closed his eyes.

Moments passed. The world around him seemed to fade away, replaced by a brilliant sea of stars within his mind—his spiritual realm.

A new space began to open up.

"I did it!" he thought, his heart pounding. "Now… what element is it?"

But when he looked closer, confusion struck.

"Huh? Why isn't it blue? The Wind Element's stardust should be blue…"

He examined the stars again—and froze.

These stars had no color at all.

Wait—this wasn't Wind Magic.

This was… Summoning Magic!

"Oh, come on!" Song Jie groaned aloud. "I aimed for Wind, but I got Summoning instead?!"

It was both a disappointment and a surprise.

His dream of soaring through the sky was temporarily shattered, replaced by something entirely different.

Still, Summoning was a rare and powerful Dimensional Element.

"I wonder what kind of creature I'll summon after the mutation," he thought, curiosity slowly overtaking frustration.

When he stepped out of the room, a young assistant greeted him.

"Did you awaken the Wind Element?" she asked expectantly.

"No."

"No?" She frowned. "Then what did you awaken?"

"Summoning."

Her eyes widened. "You awakened the Summoning Element?!"

"Xiaomi, what's going on?" Guo Liyu approached with a puzzled expression.

"Master! He—he awakened the Summoning Element!" the assistant stammered.

"What!?" Guo Liyu was completely stunned. "The Summoning Element… are you serious?"

"If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving," Song Jie said calmly and walked away, leaving the two speechless in his wake.

And so, fate had played a trick on him.

He hadn't awakened the Wind Element as planned, but instead obtained the Summoning Element—one of the rarest forms of Dimensional Magic.

"Great… I don't even know how to use it," he muttered, rubbing his temples.

Dimensional Magic included Summoning, Space, Sound, and Chaos. All were notoriously complex to master.

With no other options, Song Jie decided to seek advice.

The first person that came to mind was Tang Yue.

He remembered that when Mo Fan awakened his Summoning Element, Tang Yue had helped him understand it.

He immediately called her.

"Why are you calling me all of a sudden?" Tang Yue's voice came through, calm but curious. She was still stationed in Bo City.

"Teacher Tang Yue, I recently awakened my second element—it's the Summoning Element," Song Jie explained.

"The Summoning Element?" she repeated, clearly surprised. "You're quite lucky."

Song Jie smiled bitterly. "Lucky maybe, but I have no idea how to use it. I was hoping you could give me some pointers."

Tang Yue chuckled softly. "I'm still in Bo City, so I can't guide you in person. But I'll tell you the basics over the phone."

"Good!"

With Tang Yue's patient explanation, Song Jie quickly learned the fundamentals of the Summoning Element—its structure, star paths, and how to establish a contract with summoned creatures.

"Thank you, Teacher Tang Yue," he said sincerely when she finished.

"There's no need to be so formal between us," Tang Yue replied warmly. "By the way, have you signed up for Mingzhu Academy's special recruitment exam yet?"
