It was 5pm but it was really dark . The clouds which was white earlier had turned black . The sky was not smiling at all . Everywhere was pitch black . The only source of light was the Academy . The lights were fully on which provided a source of joy for people who were passing by .
Midnight Academy , is not like any regular school . It's a school for supernaturals . It helps the students become a better person.
It's owned by the late Grandmaster , Devon , a Water Demon .
It's now handled by Five Grand Masters .
In this Academy , there are ranks , levels of authority.
The Rank A - They are the next in authority after the Grandmasters. They are also the most powerful. No one dare them and goes scotfree. They stand guard in the Academy . Watching every move in sight .
The Rank B - They are next in line . They are also powerful but not as powerful as Rank A.
The Rank D - They are the advanced supernaturals who just left the last rank . They exhibit some powers but they are not that powerful.
The Rank S - These are the ones that are not improving at all . They do have powers and are just learning about it.
The Final Rank - Rank E - These ones don't even know anything about their powers. They are completely clueless.
They all fight the wicked ones so as to restore peace .
Everyone gets along but there's no peaceful place without drama.
It clocked 11pm really quickly and the gates were closed indicating that they were done for the day .
The Next Morning .
Spring View Avenue.
The Heaven's House
Noelani groaned on the bed , her small body being pressed on by another . She tried to shake this person off but it was impossible. She opened her eyes slightly and it met her Sisters' own . She rolled her eyes and tried to get up again but was pressed down again.
"Kailani , will you move your body from me ?,I'm trying to get up here ",She asked obviously pissed.
"Good Morning",Kailani replied her with a bright smile on her face .
Noelani rolled her eyes and gathered all the strength in her before pushing her off .
She stood up and headed to the bathroom.
Kailani just laid on the bed smiling to herself . One would think she was crazy , but she was not , that's just how she is .
While Noelani was the calm , cold one , Kailani was the bubbly and Hyper one .
If it's not because of their personality,people will mistake them for each other.
Few minutes later .
Noelani came out of the bathroom wrapped in her bathrobe . Her hair was wrapped with a towel to avoid it from dripping .
She walked to the wardrobe that was situated at the left side of the room and picked an outfit which looked like it had been picked before .
It was a white cropped tank top , a black baggy jeans topped with a black leather jacket.
She noticed the room was a bit silent that was when she realized that Kailani had left the room.
She put on her clothes then went for black Sneakers and Black cross bag .
She went out of the room and walked towards the dining where Kailani obviously was. Their Mother , walked around the kitchen , preparing breakfast for the both of them .
"Good morning , mom ",She greeted her mom from the dining since it was beside each other.
"Morning , my love , I hope you had a good night sleep ?",Her mother asked.
"A bit",She replied .
"Oh , that's bad , is it because you're going to the Academy today or are you pressured ?",Her mom asked.
"It's none of that , I'm just worried about you , I mean , K and I are both leaving today , leaving only you and Grey , our brother at home ",She said.
"Awwn , don't be worried , we're definitely going to be fine ,and besides your father is coming home in a week time , so we won't be the only one ", Her mom said.
"Oh Okay",She replied and looked at Kailani who wasn't even paying attention but eating nuts .
"What?,Why are you looking at me like that ?",She asked.
"Is there something on my face ?, or you can't handle my beauty?",She added playfully.
Noelani just rolled her eyes and started peeling the nuts before eating them.
"Breakfast is ready ",Their mom announced , handling their already dished out food to them.
"Finally,I've been starving for years now ",Kailani Joked.
"Stop being a butt head ",Noelani Said and focused on her food.
"Pfft",Kailani said and hurriedly grabbed her cutleries before digging in.
20 minutes later....
Both Noelani and Kailani both stood in front of their mother who seemed to be talking to them.
"You both should always look after eachother , especially you Noel , you know how your sister is ",She said .
"Don't underestimate anyone , they could be more powerful than you , especially you , Noel , I know you don't like to associate yourself with anybody. Please you both should maintain yourself and keep an eye on each other ",she added.
"Kailani , don't go around crushing on boys , cause I know that's going to be your number one thing to do , you wouldn't even think of that by the way , Midnight Academy was built to straighten people out ",She said again and Kailani folded her hands grumbling.
She held both their hands and looked at them both before talking.
"My bundle of joy , I hope you have a good life there , if it's too hard for you , you can come back , I'll always be here and yes , I have something for you ",She said and handed a box to them. Giving them a go ahead to open it.
They opened it and gasped at the sight of what they saw. It was a dragon pearl necklace. They were two though .
She was also a supernatural being , a white dragon to be precise but after few years , she got tired of her being a dragon and took out this pearls , reducing her powers .
"I hope it protects you just like it did to me",She said and gave them a hug.
They both wore the necklaces on each other before facing their mother .
Kailani was already teary eyed while Noelani just kept a straight face.
Noelani looked inside the box again and saw a key .She showed it to her mom immediately.
"What's this ?",She asked.
"The key to your anklet , the both of you ",Their mom replied.
"But you're to use it when you get to the Academy, okay?",she commanded.
They both nodded and she closed the box back.
The bus that was to carry them was waiting already there.
They bade their last goodbye and left. This time Kailanis' tears were falling while Noelani was a bit emotional.
They both got on the bus and sat together .
Kailani laid her head on Noelanis' shoulder wiping her tears while Noelani just patted her hair , assuring her of everything.
Deep into the woods , a shrieking laughter echoed scaring away every living thing that lives there.
A woman dressed in all black approached a bird , looking at it intently ,strangling its body.
"It's time",she said and killed the bird.
"Yes master ",Some voices replied.
Midnight Academy
Apparently, it was a new day , new session and they were taking in new students .
A lot of new faces trooped in with their bags in their hands. Some didn't come with anything .
Noelani and Kailani joined the crowd . Their Traveling Box in their hands.
While Kailani was all bubbly and mingling with new faces , Noelani was the opposite. She kept a straight face until someone bumped into her . She turned back and saw a girl who looked nerdy . She was timid and shy but Noelani didn't have any time to notice all that . She faced her front and continued to walk .
"Hey , I'm sorry about that",the girl apologized but didn't even get any reaction .
She looked down and continued her walk.
Soon they got in and were assigned their rooms .
Kailani got a room with a girl she was chatting with while Noelani was paired with the girl who bumped into her .
And that was how the pairings continued.
20 minutes later .
A voice spoke through the speakers.
"All new students should be in the hall in 10 minutes"
Noelani's room
The awkwardness and silence was killing but Noelani cared less as she just kept arranging her things.
The girl tried to start up a conversation but she couldn't until Noelani spoke up.
"Noelani",She said.
"Uhh?",The girl asked feeling confused.
"My name",She replied .
"Oh , your name is Noelani , that's a pretty name , mine is Hazel , nice to meet you ",she said.
"Hazel",Noelani repeated and nodded her head .
"Uhm,can you help me ?,I don't know the way to the hall",Hazel asked.
"Same here , it's better to ask the seniors or anyone around ",Noelani suggested and Hazel nodded.
Hazel smiled to herself ,as she was happy about the conversation she just had with her . At first , she thought , she was the cold type and doesn't want to talk to her but now it's the opposite.
"Why are you smiling?",Noelani voice brought her back.
"Uh ?, Oh it's nothing",she replied and Noelani just rolled her eyes.
"Let's go ",She added.
The hall was starting to get filled with students . Some had smiles on their faces , some were just ice , some looking timid and some just chatting away with people like they had met before.
One thing was for sure .
Some students will be going home tonight and some will be grouped in ranks.
The Five Grandmasters entered and the hall became silent .
The students were all on their seats while gasps filled the air. It was no doubt that the masters were all good looking and the Aura they ooze out is just something else.
A Female grandmaster walked to the front with a bright smile on her face .
"We welcome you all to Midnight Academy ",she said and applauses filled the air .
"I am one of your grandmasters , Ariel ,it's nice to meet you all",she added and applauses filled the hall again.
"Now , it's time to fill you up on what we do here",she said and a male grandmaster came to the front .
"Hello everyone , I'm Leon , the most friendly grandmaster and I'll be telling you everything you need to know",He said and applauses filled the hall.
"Firstly , as you all know , Midnight Academy is not like any other schools . We are an Academy were every body is equal,no one is above the laws that have been printed on the four walls of this school. Unlike every school were all they do is read and write , then go to college , here ,you're being trained to be a better person in life and to protect the society , that's the reason why you all have superpowers , you all were given superpowers for this , now it's up to you to be evil or to be good , I'm going to end here for now ", he said and he was applauded.
Another stepped out , a female dressed in a black hanfu.
"Ni hao (Hello), I'm Janice , I'm going to tell you about the ranks we have here , coz your powers are absolutely grouped in ranks",she said .
She told them all that needed to be said and she was applauded as well .
And the two other grandmasters came , Lori and Daren .
They also enlightened them on the tasks they are to perform every week and the monthly one .
"Lastly , you're not going to be pampered here, we go the hard way and also , I forgot to tell you earlier , we fight battles , we go head on head with the evil ones causing havoc in the society , I hope with all things said , you should have prepared your mind for everything that's going to happen here ",Ariel ended everything.
"We've been good so far , enjoy yourselves and goodbye for now ",she added and they all walked out leaving the students.
Words filled the hall immediately they stepped out .
Noelani walked out also leaving behind Hazel.
She looked around trying to take everything in . She kept going when she came face to face with the most handsome guys she had ever met .
Her expression remained the same .
Apparently,he was passing by . He looked at her and looked away immediately.
She also didn't spare him a second glance.
She got to her room and took off her clothes , grabbed a towel and headed to the bathroom.
She got out of the bathroom,put on a casual wear and laid on the bed with her phone in her hands.
Back in the Hall , Students were still there chatting and getting along when all of a sudden black smokes from nowhere started appearing . The students noticing this ran helter skelter but the entrances were blocked by a strong barrier . Kailani tried to use her powers but it didn't work maybe because it had been a while.
Hazel also tried to but it didn't work, they seemed to be stronger than them .
People dressed in black came out , black smoke oozing out their body .
A lady dressed in black leather and leather jackets stood out , lightning glowing on her body . She made a ball of lightning on her palm ready to throw it but stopped . A sly smile spread across her lips , she looked like she was ready to devour someone.
Kailani stood up again and tried to use her powers on her but this time she vomited blood after getting a lightning ball strike from her .
Noelani's Room
She laid on the bed when she felt something. She tried to connect with her sister but it wasn't working. She needed no one to tell her that her sister was in danger .
She rushed out of the room and saw some students walking towards the hall.
She sensed that , that was where it was happening since her mind led her there.
She got there along with other students.
The barrier seemed unbreakable . The guy she saw earlier also came and tried to break it but she saw that it was taking time , she immediately teleported and she landed inside the hall .
She immediately ran to her sister who spat out blood and was getting weak .
Her eyes turned cold . No one touches her sis and goes scot free.
She stood up and looked at the bitch that did that .
She still had that sly smile on her face making Noelani more furious.
"She literally walked into the lion's den ",she said .
"You're the one who did that ",Noelani replied.
"We'll see about that",she said and immediately gathered a ball of lightning ready to launch it at her but she still stopped looking at what she was going to do.
Noelani stood gallantly , her eyes changing color , the left changed to fiery red while the right changed to icy blue .
Her hands bring out fire.
Matilda , the evil girl shifted. She immediately made a lightning ball ready to launch when Noelani appeared in her front sinking her sharp claws into her eyes . Matilda cried out in pain. The other members launched at Noelani , but before they could reach her . They all froze .
No one could move .
She immediately went back to Kailani who was still watching what was going on .
Kailani smiled at her but it quickly turned into a frown . Apparently, another evil attacker was coming to attack Noelani but Kailani stood up and stretched her left hand while her right hand was held by her sister.
Immediately she stretched it , fire balls came out shooting directly at him . In just few seconds, he was burned up .
It seemed like the ice had melted as the others came to attack them and together they both stood beside eachother . A fiery bow appeared on Kailani's hand .
This time the Rank A had entered the barrier and had started rescuing the remaining students.
Kailani knelt down on one knee and looked up positioning her bow while Noelani stood behind her . Her fingers in an arrow position and immediately she placed it on Kailanis' head .
Immediately, Kailani started shooting arrows which was half ice and half fire . If it's mixed, it's deadly and no cure can stop it unless they are struck by it 5 times . Who would want some deadly poison that works slowly just to cure another one.
Immediately she fired one ,but five arrows struck at once . It injured them and they spat out blood. Before she could fire another one they all disappeared.
They both stopped and Kailani fell on the floor spitting out blood .
Draco , the guy she had met earlier ran to them and tried to help her when Noelani teleported with her .
He thought to himself.
"Fire and Ice ,that's cool".
