Chapter 166: Raiding Herbivorous Dragon Nests
Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex Reins: Purple Rare / Lv-, Mount Summon, Combat Mount. Usage Requirement: Strength 40 or Charisma 25.
These are the reins that can summon a Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex as a mount. As a top predator once at the apex of the swamp jungle food chain, only players with immense strength or even greater charisma are qualified to subdue the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex and make it willingly become a mount, to be driven by them.
The Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex summoned by the reins is a combat mount and can assist in battle; the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex's monster template is downgraded from 'Champion Template' to 'Elite Template', but its basic data panel and ability characteristics remain unchanged; the summoning and recalling rules for the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex are the same as for vehicles, and summon and recall commands can only be executed when not in combat.
The Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex is not a true subordinate unit, so if it dies, it dies permanently, but the reins themselves have a chance to be preserved. After the Tyrannosaurus Rex dies, one can attempt to inject a new mount into the blank reins.
Holding the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex Reins will require bearing its full feeding cost. The Space estimates its daily consumption to be between 150 and 200 coins.
Additional Tip: Since you possess a Shard of the Sun God Gem, you can ignore the inherent usage conditions of the reins. (This entry is only visible to the holder)
Additional Evaluation: With two dragons in hand, you are the true BOSS of this dungeon.
Upon seeing the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex Reins, Aileen was already eager, planning to sell everything she could to try and bid for it from Cheng Tian.
She had personally witnessed the power of the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex. She could only say that if Cheng Tian hadn't brought out a Red Silk Gourd, they would have been in great danger.
However, when Cheng Tian showed her the usage conditions of the reins, the girl visibly wilted, and the light in her eyes also dimmed.
Indeed, such a powerful combat mount is not something an ordinary player can use.
If one does not possess greater strength to physically subdue it, then one needs greater charisma to gain its recognition.
The former is generally only achievable by strength-focused melee specialists, and requires considerable experience, while the latter condition is relatively easier, achievable by some Black Iron-tier beastmasters or lore explorers.
Of course, Cheng Mouren does not need to follow these rules; the Shard of the Sun God Gem in his forehead is the most fatal temptation and the best pass for fire-type units.
The only slight regret is that the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Deep Red Tyrannosaurus Rex, these two red dragons, one is a combat mount and the other a temporary subordinate, not biological vehicles. Therefore, their positioning is different from the War Elephant Mammoth, and they do not benefit from Cheng Tian's Chariot Master effect and Chariot Matrix Formation.
"Don't be discouraged, this is a good thing."
But just as Aileen was feeling dejected, Cheng Tian said this.
"A good thing?"
Aileen was somewhat puzzled.
In the Chosen Space, not all monsters drop mounts. Only those units that have the potential to be tamed and become mounts, and whose size and body structure are suitable for mounts, might drop reins. Not just any random cat or dog on the roadside can drop reins.
However, in the current 'Dino Crisis' dungeon, due to the erosion by the Adventure Island 3 blueprint shard, all dinosaurs, while gaining superpowers, also acquired the implicit characteristic of being easier to tame as mounts!
For taming, adult dragons are out; one can only start with dragon eggs. But each of these unyielding adult mutated dinosaurs has the possibility of dropping reins!
With Aileen's attribute tendencies, setting her sights on the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex was somewhat overestimating herself.
But if she focused on smaller carnivorous dragons like Velociraptors, or herbivorous dragons like Stegosaurus and Triceratops, or even Pterosaurs that can soar in the sky, it would clearly be much more reliable than riding a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
No sooner said than done, Cheng Tian spread out the map, reconfirmed the directions to the nests of Stegosaurus, Triceratops, and Pterosaurs, and then, amidst Red Silk Gourd's strange 'Huh?' expression, summoned the Crimson Tyrannosaurus Rex that had just been fighting for its life with it.
Red Silk Gourd was puzzled, even stretching its neck down to peer at its own belly.
However, strictly speaking, the Tyrannosaurus Rex summoned from the reins had nothing to do with the dragon corpse that had entered Red Silk Gourd's belly. Although it did hiss at Red Silk Gourd when it appeared, the female dragon, having completed its identity transformation, could only accept the reality of being in the same faction as Red Silk Gourd.
"There are too many of these mutated dinosaurs. Let me balance things out~"
Cheng Tian's team, with their two dragons, swaggered towards the mutated Triceratops nest... As Cheng Tian's Sun God Mask bonus changed from Spirit and Charisma to Strength and Agility, it also meant that this swamp jungle had completely entered nighttime.
And Cheng Tian and his team had already completed the raid on the mutated Triceratops nest and the mutated Stegosaurus nest, arriving at the central lake.
Rather than a raid, it was more like Cheng Tian and his team hadn't even invaded the dragon nests yet, and the intelligent leader units in both nests had already fled with most of their kin, abandoning even their eggs.
Only some old, weak, sick, and overly stubborn individuals remained near the nests, eventually becoming a feast for the two carnivorous dragons.
All dragons have superpowers = No dragons have superpowers.
The superpowers gained from the erosion by Adventure Island 3 did not allow herbivorous dragons to dominate top predators like the Tyrannosaurus Rex in the food chain, let alone the Tyrannosaurus Rex dragged over by Cheng Tian from other worldviews.
From a combat power calculation perspective, a large number of herbivorous dragons indeed had the potential to wear down and kill the Tyrannosaurus Rex and the Tyrannosaurus Rex, but the question is, how many herbivorous dragons would die before they could kill them?
Increased intelligence also meant more thoughts and a greater desire to preserve one's life.
Compared to the eggs, which could be reproduced later, preserving one's own life was more important.
And Cheng Tian's side was truly 'emptying' the nests. One mutated herbivorous dragon egg after another, ready for transport, lay quietly in the nests made of branches.
Raiding the Stegosaurus and Triceratops nests allowed Cheng Tian to accumulate and submit 13 herbivorous dragon eggs, of which only 2 were found by Cheng Tian himself.
But Cheng Tian's bounty quest progress was still only 80% complete.
The reason is that the types of dragon eggs required by the Space are not categorized by dinosaur species, but by the type of fragment erosion.
Currently, Cheng Tian has submitted four types of mutated fusion dragon eggs: Spades/Red Dragon, Hearts/Blue Dragon, Clubs/Wyvern, and Five Stars/Sand Dragon, lacking only the mutated fusion corresponding to Clubs/Water Dragon.
And this is the main reason why they are at the central lake at this time.
But the problem is, according to the map, the dinosaur BOSS in the lake should be a Mosasaurus specializing in underwater combat, and this group of theirs, from people to dragons to vehicles, every single one of them is a landlubber!
"Chengzi, you understand me... If I complain about you one more time, I'm this."
Watching Cheng Tian squat by the water, summoning a single-person tactical submarine directly like a blue fatty, student Aileen made a thumbs-down gesture.
Cheng Tian, in turn, formed a thumbs-up pattern with golden feather arrows above his head, then piloted the single-person submarine, along with the thumbs-up, slowly sinking into the water.
