Chapter 4 - Mysterious Character

However, the main reason Rian ran was not just because he was outnumbered.

For the first time since acquiring Six Eyes, Rian took off his ultra-black lensed glasses while fighting.

As a result, the information flooding his brain was like a relentless storm: temperature, sound, movement, air pressure, and the movement of every creature around him.

Within minutes, dizziness pierced his temples.

What's more, the Ganado kept popping up relentlessly, as if this village land had given birth to them. And things only got worse when a Ganado with a chainsaw appeared.

Luckily, despite the shuffling, Rian could still keep running.

"Why is this world so cruel to handsome men like me..." Rian hissed as he kept running, his face holding a headache but still charming.

"What's more, the first mission isn't over yet! There are still 40 Ganado to kill," muttered Rian in exasperation, "And those annoying Ganado... Using Chainsaw? That's not fair!"

Not long into the run, Rian began to pant, his chest rising and falling rapidly. Sweat poured down from his temples to his chin.

Droplets of it flew through the air, almost like a dramatic isotonic drink commercial scene.

After continuing to run while being chased by dozens of Ganado, Rian saw an old suspension bridge that stretched over the ravine.

Without thinking, Rian immediately crossed it even though the boards creaked under his footing.

Once he reached the other side, Rian's steps stopped. He looked back and found an odd sight.

The Ganado stood still at the end of the bridge, silent. None of them dared to step forward.

"Hmm? Why aren't they following?" muttered Rian with a furrowed brow.

Rian's gaze sharpened, analyzing the situation. "Is... something holding them back? Orders from the Dominant Species, perhaps?"

Rian sighed softly, his eyes still staring at the crowd of Ganado in the distance. "Whatever the reason... at least this handsome man was given time to breathe," he muttered lightly.

He turned around, his gaze now fixed on the small road ahead. "And it seems... there's someone there who isn't Ganado."

With his breathing stabilizing, Rian took out a small mirror from his shirt pocket and looked in the mirror for a moment, stepping unhurriedly.

A lopsided smile graced Rian's face. "Let's see... is she a beautiful woman who will compliment my good looks or not."

And so, Rian took another step, still staring at the mirror in his hand.

On the low cliff that led to the path below, stood a beautiful woman with short hair. She was wearing a red dress, and high black heels.

Currently, the woman was speaking through the walkie talkie in her hand.

"Take it easy. Everything is going according to plan. I'll get Amber soon," the woman said calmly and confidently.

"Ada, make sure you're not just talking," replied a voice from the other side, her tone firm and stressful.

The woman was none other than Ada Wong, and the voice on the other side seemed to belong to her superior.

Moments later, after reassuring her interlocutor, Ada let out a slow breath, then lowered her walkie talkie and slipped it into the thigh bag beside her leg.

With a subtle yet firm gesture, Ada took the pistol from the holster, then turned and pointed it at the thick bush behind.

"Have you had your fill of snooping?" asked Ada sharply, the look in her eyes no less cold than the muzzle of her gun.

From behind the bushes, a young man slowly emerged. Rian raised both hands high, signaling that he was no threat.

In a light and quiet tone, Rian said, "This handsome man thinks he's hiding very well..."

Ada frowned, her eyes narrowed, considering the strange man who appeared casually. However, the look in her eyes contained curiosity.

"Who are you?" asked Ada coldly, the gun still aimed.

Rian lowered both hands slowly, then brushed his bangs back with swagger and a lopsided smile.

"My name is Rian Andromeda. A loving, humble, always charming... and, of course... handsome man," Rian said, his tone of voice like a narration introducing the main character in a pirated movie.

Ada snorted softly, then lowered her gun slightly, though it was still in an alert position.

"Humble, huh?" muttered Ada as she glanced Rian up and down. "You're definitely not part of the villagers... and too clean to be Sadler's men."

Ada crossed her arms, her expression not entirely trusting. "So, who are you, some stupid tourist who strayed into hell?"

Ada's gaze became more piercing, but in her voice was a thin sarcastic tone, and a curiosity that she couldn't completely hide.

Rian smiled casually. "Maybe I'm just someone destined to meet a beautiful woman in red in the middle of a cursed village."

Ada rolled her eyes, but the corners of her lips lifted slightly. "Great. Just met and already using seduction. I'm starting to suspect you're a special agent... or a failed comedian."

Ada turned away without another word. She walked away from Rian, her steps steady and calm. The mission was more important than making small talk with a strange man who appeared out of nowhere.

From the previous glimpse of her eyes, Ada concluded that there was no firearm in Rian's fanny pack. At least not visible ones.

But Ada was not the type of woman to be careless. Even with her back to Rian, the gun was still clutched tightly in her right hand, ready to be fired at any time.

Meanwhile, Rian only watched as Ada's back moved away. She stepped slowly towards the nearest tree, crossing her arms over her chest while leaning her body against the trunk.

A lopsided smile appeared on Rian's face.

"Well... Ada Wong's character is consistent. Professional, secretive, and... still beautiful, just like in the games and movies," he muttered softly.

As Ada's shadow disappeared behind the trees, Rian sighed and lowered his ultra-dark lensed glasses, revealing bright blue eyes.

In an instant, information flooded into Rian's brain. Area maps, terrain structure, position of moving objects, body temperature, everything was revealed within a range of tens of meters, more than before.

In a short time, Rian's brain had thoroughly surveyed the surroundings.

"Alright... time for this handsome guy to get back to work," Rian said lightly.

After putting his ultra-black lensed glasses back on, Rian stepped out of the place, not in the direction Ada Wong had gone, but not the other way either.

Rian walked, as if he knew exactly where to go, even though it was all based on intuition and the help of Six Eyes.

Some time later, Rian arrived at the ruins of an old chapel in the middle of the forest.

The building was almost destroyed, leaving only a portion of the stone walls and gothic-style arched windows that had been swallowed by moss and tree roots.

On the western side of the ruins, a man leaned casually against a large tree trunk. With a lit cigarette on his lips and one hand in his pocket, he looked calm, but alert.

The man wore a long shirt covered by a slightly worn dark brown leather jacket, dark pants, and boots suitable for the wild terrain of the village.

The Man's dark brown hair was slightly shaggy and disheveled, giving off a haphazard yet attractive impression.

The man's face was adorned with a thin, unkempt beard, with sharp eyes that radiated intelligence and alertness.

As soon as he heard the sound of Rian's steps approaching from a distance, the man immediately raised the gun towards the source of the sound.

Reflexively and calmly, Rian stopped his steps, raised one eyebrow, both hands and muttered, "Does everyone in this village like to point their guns at this handsome man?"

While still pointing his gun, the man looked at Rian suspiciously yet curiously. He did not recognize the face as Sadler's subordinate, nor any of the acquaintances he had met.

"Who are you, amigo?" the man asked in a flat yet wary tone.

Rian lowered his hands slowly, then took out a small mirror from his shirt pocket. He stared at his reflection for a moment.

Without taking his eyes off the mirror, he said casually, "Just a good-looking man with some business in the village-take it easy, nothing that will harm the community."

The man frowned, lowering his gun slightly, though his demeanor was still wary. "You sound quite confident, amigo," he retorted, his tone containing curiosity.

Rian tucked his mirror back into his shirt pocket, then began to step quietly closer.

"Rian Andromeda," Rian introduced himself confidently.

The man chuckled softly, flashing a faint smile as he offered a hand. "Luis Sera," he said briefly. "Just call me Luis."

Rian took the handshake in stride. "Nice to meet you, Luis."

Luis Serra Navarro, simply called Luis, was a former intelligent scientist from the Umbrella Corporation, as well as a researcher who had been directly involved with the Las Plagas project.

With that background, Luis knew exactly how Sadler's subordinates acted: rigid, fanatical, and full of blank stares, while still maintaining a certain level of intelligence.

But this man in front of him, with his relaxed style, confident smile, and bizarre act of looking in the mirror in the middle of the forest or at gunpoint: clearly did not fall into that category.
