Yaoyao had no desire to experience the Ghostly Grand March. To avoid it, she decided she would simply cook dinner for everyone that night.
Though Lin Ze couldn't bear to let Yaoyao cook for everyone, he knew that if he didn't settle this matter, Yaoyao would inevitably be subjected to the Ghostly Grand March that evening.
Without hesitation, Lin Ze made his decision.
"Alright, then let's see what Yaoyao's cooking is like. For now, let's head to Wanmin Restaurant. We can chat while we eat."
Seeing Lin Ze's firm decision, Hu Tao still felt a pang of reluctance. Her cooking was truly excellent—even the guest chefs at her funeral parlor praised it!
"How about tomorrow instead?" Hu Tao persisted, convinced that once everyone tasted her cooking, they would be completely won over.
"But... Lin Ze-gege..." Yaoyao turned to Lin Ze with pleading eyes, unwilling to give up even after his decision. She desperately wanted to avoid the Ghostly Grand March!
Since Lin Ze had already warned them and offered his help, she trusted he would come through for her again. *Big brother must have another plan, right?!*
Seeing Yaoyao's desperate expression, Lin Ze's heart nearly melted.
"Then why don't you make a Ghostly Grand March tonight too?"
After a moment's thought, Lin Ze devised a solution. He agreed to Hu Tao's request while telepathically communicating with the others:
*I'll use the Black Flag's power to make the Ghostly Grand March actually taste good.*
*The presentation and appearance are fine, it's just the flavor that's indescribable.*
*But with my help, we should be able to temporarily fool Hu Tao.*
*Don't worry about getting sick from eating it. I'll take care of that too.*
Lin Ze genuinely had no better options. He couldn't exactly tell Hu Tao the truth, could he?
For now, he'd just have to play along.
"Then I'll make a few dishes too," Yun Jin quickly chimed in after hearing Lin Ze's suggestion.
She had a good idea as well.
If she also prepared some dishes and later coordinated with Yaoyao to make extra of their own, they could serve less of the Ghostly Grand March. Hu Tao likely wouldn't notice the difference.
"Alright, it's settled then."
With the plan to cook together that evening finalized, Lin Ze led the trio toward Wanmin Restaurant.
No sooner had they left than someone arrived at the spot where the four had just been standing.
"This is the place, no doubt. Too bad I missed them."
Xinyan glanced at the diary copy, then at the street. Yaoyao and the others were nowhere to be seen. She sighed in disappointment.
But she quickly rallied her spirits.
Finding Lin Ze had been difficult before, but now it would be much easier.
Since Lin Ze had reunited with Yaoyao and Yun Jin, all she needed to do was find them, and she'd find him too!
With that thought, Xinyan began asking around.
Yaoyao and Yun Jin were both well-known figures in Liyue Harbor. One was the renowned Mr. Yun, and the other was a beloved figure—easy enough to inquire about!
Xiangling had the same idea as Xinyan!
Xiangling had also rushed out, hoping to engineer a chance encounter.
Now that she knew Lin Ze had met up with Yun Jin and Yaoyao, all she had to do was track down the two of them!
"You said Yaoyao and Yun Jin were chatting and laughing, and they even mentioned me when they passed by, saying they were going to Wanmin Restaurant?"
Xiangling quickly gathered the details, and she was overjoyed.
*Going to Wanmin Restaurant?!*
*This is perfect!*
Without a second thought, Xiangling took a shortcut and raced toward Wanmin Restaurant.
Xinyan received the same news and sprinted toward Wanmin Restaurant as well.
Meanwhile, Lin Ze and his companions strolled leisurely in that direction.
In their frantic chase, Xiangling and Xinyan actually arrived at Wanmin Restaurant ahead of schedule, meeting at the entrance.
"Xinyan? Why are you panting so heavily?" Xiangling asked, giving her a curious glance before realizing the truth.
*Xinyan must have heard that Lin Ze and the others were coming here to eat,* Xiangling thought. *That's why she rushed over, just like me, pushing herself to the limit the whole way.*
"I heard Mr. Lin Ze was treating Yaoyao and the others to dinner at Wanmin Restaurant, so I hurried over," Xinyan explained, quickly catching her breath. "What about you?"
Compared to Xinyan, Xiangling looked remarkably composed, her face barely flushed and her breathing steady. She seemed as if she had simply given up on the race and casually returned to Wanmin Restaurant from outside.
"I heard the same thing and rushed back using a shortcut," Xiangling replied.
"Oh my, what a coincidence! Xiangling, Xinyan, you're here too! We're in for a treat today!"
Just as Xiangling finished explaining, Lin Ze and his group arrived. Hu Tao seized the opportunity, darting out from behind Xiangling while she was distracted.
Success! Xiangling jumped in surprise.
"Hu Tao~ You're so mean! You always scare me like that!"
Recovering from the shock, Xiangling playfully swung her small fists, lightly tapping Hu Tao twice.
Every time Hu Tao came to find her, she loved to suddenly pop out from behind Xiangling.
Yet, despite this predictable tactic, Xiangling always fell for it, much to her own frustration.
Even though Guoba, now shrunken, was always with her, he never seemed to notice Hu Tao's approach.
"You must have heard that Mr. Lin Ze is inviting Yaoyao and Yun Jin to Wanmin Restaurant for dinner, right? That's why you rushed over here, isn't it?"
Because Hu Tao had hurried over, Xiangling, who hadn't turned around, hadn't noticed Yaoyao and the others arriving. Instead, she assumed Hu Tao had come for the same reason as her and Xinyan—relying on rumors and guesswork to get here.
Meanwhile, Xinyan's attention was entirely focused on Hu Tao, completely oblivious to the group approaching behind Xiangling.
What was even more peculiar was that Yaoyao, despite wearing two large bells on her head, moved without making a sound.
Earlier, the bells had jingled the moment Lin Ze touched her head.
Lin Ze had been watching them closely the entire way, though Yaoyao hadn't noticed.
"Me? I'm not lost. I found Lin Ze ages ago. We came together, but I ran ahead to give you a little scare. See? The one walking with Yaoyao and Yun Jin is Lin Ze."
Hu Tao waved her hands frantically as she explained, pointing to the approaching trio.
Following Hu Tao's gesture, Xiangling and Xinyan both grew excited.
"That's Mr. Lin Ze! Wonderful!" *2
"I'll personally cook some delicious dishes later. Hmm... Wanmin Restaurant doesn't have private rooms. If you don't mind, how about we eat in the inner courtyard?"
Xiangling naturally included herself in the dining party.
Xinyan followed suit.
"Great! That way we won't be disturbed!"
