Inside the bronze coffin, Uchiha Hikari was lifted by an unseen force, her body suspended gently in midair.
She wore an ice-pink robe cinched tightly at the waist with a shimmering silver belt. Her body was stained with blood and dust, her long hair slightly disheveled.
Even so, Hikari kept her eyes tightly shut, quietly floating inside the coffin, waiting for a certain moment of awakening.
When the seal on the ancient bronze coffin finally loosened, her body slowly descended to the bottom.
Suddenly, her eyes snapped open. She sat upright, scanning her surroundings with visible confusion.
"Boruto!" Hikari's voice echoed through the silent chamber.
"Mom!"
Tears welled in her eyes as crystal-clear drops slid down her cheeks.
"Ahhhh! A zombie! It's a zombie! Orochimaru!" Suigetsu's terrified scream shattered the silence.
His entire body began trembling uncontrollably, and he almost reverted into liquid form. He staggered backward, putting Orochimaru and Jugo between himself and Hikari.
"Orochimaru, she's alive," Jugo said in a low, tense voice, studying the girl closely.
"Hmmm…" Orochimaru nodded slightly, eyes gleaming with intrigue. He examined Hikari like a rare specimen, the corners of his mouth twitching into a delighted smile.
"She just mentioned Boruto… Boruto Uzumaki? How does she even know that name?" he muttered.
He glanced around the ruins. "There are no traces of anyone else here, and the coffin's seal was completely intact.
She shouldn't know anything about the outside world… And the sealing jutsu used here—it's capable of halting time itself. Fascinating. This must mean she's from the Warring States Era."
Orochimaru's tongue flicked across his lips in pure excitement. "Wonderful…"
At that moment, Hikari snapped out of her daze and turned to face them. The memories of being hunted surged into her mind, and she winced from a stabbing pain in her head.
She raised a hand and rubbed her temple gently, trying to ease the pressure.
Then, her black eyes flashed red—her Mangekyō Sharingan had awakened.
"What! A Mangekyō Sharingan!" Suigetsu shouted in disbelief.
"She has the same eyes as Sasuke at such a young age!" Jugo added, stunned.
Orochimaru's grin widened. "Marvelous… The ruins of the Uzumaki Clan sealed away an Uchiha, and she possesses a Mangekyō Sharingan? Spectacular!"
Without saying a word, Hikari raised her hand slightly.
"Eight Thousand Spears!"
A series of mysterious symbols appeared on the backs of Orochimaru's, Suigetsu's, and Jugo's hands.
"She attacked us before we even spoke to her!" Suigetsu yelled, panic spreading through him.
Moments later, blue Chakra streams surged from their bodies toward Hikari. Orochimaru, Jugo, and Suigetsu all felt their energy being forcefully drained.
"Her Mangekyō ability allows her to mark targets just by looking at them… and then siphon their Chakra," Orochimaru analyzed calmly, even as his own energy waned.
"Orochimaru!" Suigetsu gasped weakly, collapsing to his knees.
Jugo also staggered, nearly drained. Orochimaru's expression hardened.
Opening his mouth unnaturally wide, he performed the Snake Substitution Technique, escaping his own skin to distance himself from Hikari.
Hikari, now glowing with blue Chakra, stood silently, her eyes cold and calculating.
"Well now," Orochimaru smirked, "to meet a Mangekyō wielder in this age… how exciting."
Hikari ignored him completely. Her eyes flared again, and the same strange mark appeared on Orochimaru's hand.
"Tch. I'll have to try sealing jutsu. If that fails, we retreat," Orochimaru muttered to himself.
He quickly formed hand seals, layering a sealing technique across his body.
"It worked," he whispered, feeling the Chakra drain stop—though he knew it was only temporary.
"In that case…"
He blurred out of sight, appearing behind Jugo to cast the same seal. But before he could, Jugo turned and caught Orochimaru's arm in an iron grip.
"What?"
Jugo's pupils had turned purple—he was under Hikari's control.
"Kill him," Hikari commanded coldly.
On the other side, Suigetsu stood up as well, his eyes glowing the same purple hue.
He formed his fingers into pistols, two water bullets condensing at his fingertips, aimed straight at Orochimaru's head.
"It seems your bodies are under her control," Orochimaru sneered.
In an instant, his form split into countless white snakes, slithering through the confined space to evade their attacks.
The serpents merged again in a dark corner, reforming into Orochimaru's main body.
"It seems I can't avoid a fight."
He sent two clones to distract Jugo and Suigetsu, while he faced Hikari head-on.
"Hidden Shadow Snake Hands!"
Orochimaru's arms morphed into giant serpents that lunged toward Hikari, their scales glinting with venomous sheen.
But Hikari didn't flinch.
"Susanoo."
Dark red ribs materialized around her, encasing her in a skeletal armor. A massive hand formed, sweeping through the air—obliterating Orochimaru's snakes in a single motion.
"Susanoo, huh? I've fought that before," Orochimaru smirked. "You're nowhere near Itachi or Sasuke's level. What else can you do, little girl?"
Hikari didn't answer. Her left eye glowed a deep crimson as she whispered—
"Amaterasu."
Black flames erupted, consuming the space around her.
Orochimaru blurred away with the Body Flicker Technique, but the fire's heat still caught his clothes. He quickly shed his burning skin using the Snake Shedding Technique, panting slightly.
"This is troublesome," he muttered with a grin. "But thrilling. If you have Amaterasu… then perhaps you also possess Tsukuyomi?"
At his words, Hikari's left eye gleamed again.
"Tsukuyomi!"
