Chapter 73 - Chapter 73 Tony Stark's First Fight with the Mandarin

Tony Stark returned home.

"Welcome back, sir," JARVIS's voice rang out.

"JARVIS, activate Legion Protocol," Tony Stark said coldly.

"Yes, General. Legion Protocol activated. Your adjutant, JARVIS, is at your service." As he spoke, JARVIS activated all the armors in the basement.

"Put everything on alert mode and activate stealth mode on all armors."

"Yes, General," JARVIS replied.

All the Iron Man suits rose from beneath the floor, forming an impressive army formation in the air. With a gesture from Tony Stark, each suit gradually blended into the environment and became invisible. Now, Tony Stark's villa was guarded by a powerful army of Iron Legion suits—silent, invisible, ready to strike.

Everything was ready—now he just needed to lure the enemy in and shut the door behind them. Once he captured the key figures, Tony Stark was confident he could make them reveal everything they knew.

Standing inside his villa, overlooking the ocean, Tony prepared himself mentally. He knew the Extremis soldiers might strike at any moment, and he was fully ready. He planned to lure them directly into his trap and wipe them out in one decisive move.

Right then, dozens of black helicopters rose from the horizon, forming an aggressive attack formation heading straight for the villa.

The Iron Man suits detected them instantly."General, the enemy is approaching," JARVIS reported.

Tony's eyes sharpened. Analyzing the situation calmly, he ordered,"Deploy all suits around the villa. Don't let them get close."

As the helicopters approached, Tony stood on the terrace, eyes fixed on them, unwavering and resolute. He would not let these terrorists succeed. He ordered JARVIS to surround the incoming force.

"Yes, General," JARVIS confirmed.

The armors formed a massive encirclement, completely trapping the helicopter formation. Tony watched from above, ready to strike.

Realizing they were surrounded, the helicopters didn't retreat—instead they changed direction, trying to break out of the encirclement. But Tony had anticipated this and immediately tightened the formation, trapping them even more thoroughly.

The battle began.Armed helicopters unleashed missiles and gunfire, but the armor suits dodged swiftly and counterattacked. Beams of energy shot out, striking the helicopters one by one and sending them crashing down.

Tony watched the battlefield from above. His Iron Legion moved with unmatched strength and precision, avoiding missiles and blasting down enemies with stunning efficiency.

The Extremis soldiers in the helicopters were exhausted and overwhelmed. Their attacks couldn't break through the armor defenses. The Legion Protocol had crushed their morale—they felt completely outmatched.

"We need to escape! We walked right into his trap!" one terrorist yelled desperately.

But for Tony Stark, this fight was only the beginning. He wasn't going to let these attackers go—he wanted to annihilate their entire organization.

"JARVIS, fire an EMP. Disrupt their communication and navigation."

"Yes, sir."A powerful electromagnetic pulse erupted from the suits, instantly scrambling the enemy's systems and throwing them into chaos.

Taking advantage of the confusion, the armors launched an even fiercer assault. Energy blasts streaked through the sky, destroying helicopters left and right.

"No—!" Extremis soldiers roared in despair, but the armor swarm pressed in relentlessly. Some jumped into the sea rather than be blown apart.

Tony's gaze remained cold."After you destroy the helicopters, capture and stun everyone who jumped into the water."

"Understood, General."

One by one, the enemy forces crumbled. The first clash ended in complete victory for Tony Stark.

Once all the Extremis soldiers were captured, Tony brought them into his underground lab where equipment for studying the Extremis virus was already prepared.

"JARVIS, send the injected blood samples from these soldiers to the lab."

"Yes, sir," JARVIS replied and transferred the samples.

In the lab, Tony carefully examined the Extremis virus within their bodies. He discovered that the virus could grant immense strength, speed, and regenerative ability.

But it came with a catch:Extremis could only be stabilized in people with highly specific genetic traits. Those who lacked compatibility suffered severe immune rejection—their cells self-destructed, causing catastrophic explosions.

"JARVIS, analyze their genetic data. Find the traits that help them adapt to the Extremis mutation," Tony ordered.

"Yes, sir."JARVIS began the analysis.

Tony worked intensely. He knew that finding the genetic commonality might give him a way to counter the virus and dismantle the terrorist forces using it.

After some time, JARVIS reported,"Sir, based on the gene analysis, all of these Extremis soldiers share a specific genetic sequence that allows them to stabilize the Extremis variant."

"Excellent, JARVIS," Tony nodded. "Now we know their weakness. If we target this sequence, we can neutralize the virus."

Tony continued researching, hoping to discover more clues. Under his guidance, JARVIS simulated the virus and eventually found a potential antidote.

"General, based on the current data, I have generated a possible antidote formula," JARVIS announced.

Tony reviewed the formula and nodded."This looks promising."

Sunlight shone brightly.Rhodes, dressed neatly in casual clothes, exited the military hospital accompanied by staff.

"Mr. Rhodes, we wish you a swift recovery!" the staff said, full of respect—they had witnessed his miraculous recovery with their own eyes.

"Thank you, thank you all for taking such good care of me," Rhodes replied warmly.

As he was about to get into the car—

"Excuse me, are you Mr. Rhodes?" a man asked.

"Yes. And you are…?" Rhode asked cautiously.

"I'm the assistant to Vice President Rodriguez. The Vice President wishes to meet you—he greatly admires your bravery and wants to thank you personally."

Rhodes was moved. The Vice President wanted to see him?He was shocked—and honored. He followed the assistant to the Vice President's office.

There, he met Vice President Rodriguez and a general seated behind the desk.

"James Rhodes, I greatly admire your bravery. Thank you for your service. You are a hero of this nation," Vice President Rodriguez said, shaking Rhodes's hand.

Rhodes felt deeply honored."I only did my duty—to protect our country," he said firmly.

The Vice President smiled approvingly."Your humility and determination are exactly what this nation needs. What you did wasn't just duty—it demonstrated the spirit of a true hero."

Rhodes nodded respectfully.

The Vice President continued:"James, I heard you used an advanced steel armor in battle and displayed incredible combat ability. Your armor brought honor to our nation and showed our technological strength. So, I have a proposal."

"Please go ahead, Mr. Vice President," Rhodes said cautiously.

Vice President Rodriguez smiled."I want to rename your armor to Iron Patriot. It will symbolize your courage, your sacrifice, and the patriotism of our country. What do you think?"

Rhodes was stunned. He hadn't expected the Vice President to rename his armor.Though he still preferred the name "War Machine," he understood—this wasn't just a name.It was an honor and recognition for both him and the armor he represented.
