Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Gwen’s Heart Skips a Beat? The Super Giant Appears!

Ding!

Congratulations, Host — mission complete!

You've earned 10 Reward Points!

NRG let out a satisfied rumble, smiling under his molten armor. "Looks like Vilgax losing his mind isn't such a bad thing. He's practically handing me extra reward points! System, open personal panel."

A faint growl echoed as he focused, and a translucent blue screen appeared before his eyes.

Host: Ethen

Physique: Average Earthling Level

Spirit: Normal

Genetic Type: Human DNA (moderate resistance to alien gene fusion)

Skills: General combat training, firearm proficiency

Ability Pool: None yet

Reward Points: 115

Ethen had spent six months in Bellwood and had only exchanged his points for two minor skills, managing to save up a hundred points.

But now, just after joining Ben's storyline, he already had 15 more in hand. Not bad.

Biu~biu!

"Hey, Ethen! How do I get those awesome aliens of yours? They're seriously cool!"

Ben — still in Grey Matter form — waddled over, eyes full of admiration.

"Don't just slap your Omnitrix and hope for the best," NRG advised, his deep voice echoing. "Use it properly, and the watch will gradually unlock more transformations."

"Got it!" Grey Matter nodded firmly. This time, he actually meant it.

Just then, a familiar voice called out—

"Dinner's ready!"

Grandpa Max approached with a plate full of wriggling alien bugs.

The classic bug dinner.

"Uh, Grandpa, I'm… not hungry!"

"Me neither!"

Ethen instantly reverted to human form and backed away, while Gwen quickly followed, pretending to look busy.

Only Grey Matter was left behind, groaning in despair. "Nooo!"

Inside the Rustbucket, Gwen sat gloomily with a half-empty bag of chips.

"Oh no… only half a bag left," she sighed.

Ethen rummaged through his backpack and pulled out a sealed sandwich. "Here, take this."

"Thanks! You're such a gentleman." Gwen smiled sweetly, her tone softening. "What about you?"

"This'll do." Ethen shrugged, grabbing the half-empty chips instead.

For a moment, Gwen just looked at him — a warm flutter rising in her chest.

He gave me his sandwich… and took my half-eaten chips instead. Grandpa, thank you for bringing him along.

Then Ethen casually tapped his Omnitrix and transformed into Grey Matter, hopping onto the table and diving into the chips, munching happily.

"Wait— using Grey Matter to eat?" Gwen blinked, then laughed. "Ethen, you're a genius!"

Grey Matter gave a proud grin. "I do this all the time. Snack freedom! Fried chicken freedom! Total food freedom!"

Gwen giggled, breaking off a piece of the sandwich and handing it to him.

The two shared an easy laugh, eating and chatting like old friends.

Across the RV, Max tried to feed Ben a few bugs — to little success.

Some suffered… others enjoyed themselves.

Meanwhile, outside, families at the forest campsite were busy barbecuing and relaxing under the night sky.

Until—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Massive shadows crashed down from the heavens.

Giant robots — towering ten meters tall — landed on the ground with thunderous force!

Their bodies were armored in steel, with laser cannons mounted in their palms and spider-like legs that moved unnervingly fast.

One among them stood out — arms replaced with laser blades, a reactor glowing viciously in its chest.

For a moment, everyone at the campsite froze in shock.

Then came the screaming.

Three large robots and one enormous war machine tore through the peaceful night, turning the camp into a nightmare.

Inside the Rustbucket, the four travelers had no idea what was happening outside.

Ethen lay on the floor mat, frowning. "Strange… I could've sworn this was the part where someone calls for help over the radio."

Right on cue—

"All entertainment programs are now interrupted for urgent news."

The cheerful TV show cut off, replaced by a stern-looking news anchor.

"There has been a violent attack near the forest campsites. Two to three camps have already been destroyed. Citizens are advised to avoid the area immediately!"

The broadcast ended abruptly.

"So that's why no one called for help," Ethen muttered, sitting up. "Grandpa."

"I know." Max was already slipping into his slippers, sprinting to the driver's seat. "Let's move!"

The RV roared to life, speeding into the night.

Inside, no one spoke.

They all knew this was because of them — because of the Omnitrix.

They passed several destroyed camps before finally reaching the highway.

Dozens of RVs blocked the road, people screaming and running as three giant robots blasted through the convoy.

And ahead of them — a colossal war robot landed with a crash, its blade arm cutting a fissure straight through the asphalt.

Panic spread like wildfire.

For ordinary humans in this world, alien invasions were terrifyingly common.

If not for Ben, Earth would've fallen a hundred times over.

But this time, they had someone else too.

Ethen.

"Let's do this!"

Ben jumped out of the RV, slapped his Omnitrix, and transformed into Diamondhead — his body glimmering with crystalline energy.

"I'm taking them all down!"

"You're right, Ben."

Ethen raised his wrist and activated his watch.

His expression darkened. "They like to pick on the small ones, huh? Fine. Let's show them what big really means."

A blinding green light shot skyward — piercing the clouds!

The ground trembled as a shadow eclipsed the stars.

A massive, godlike figure stepped out of the light.

Way Big.

Every robot froze, sensors glitching as they looked up at the towering titan.

The crowd fell silent.

Then, one by one, people dropped to their knees in awe.

A miracle stood before them.

Ding!

New mission: "Smash Everything."

Objective: Destroy all giant war robots threatening humanity!

Reward: 10 points!

Max's jaw dropped.

"A—A trainee Plumber?! You can transform into that?!"

Even he, a veteran of countless alien battles, could only stare in disbelief.

Way Big stood like a living colossus, power radiating off him in waves — easily ten thousand times stronger than Vilgax himself.

And the battle was only beginning.
