Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: "Riddles Lead to Expanded Imagination and Uncontrollable Consequences"

Fortunately, the message Outcast sent did not contain any danger codes and included proof of identity; otherwise, Kal'tsit would have to suspect that the Outcast team and Misery team had already met with trouble.

"The content is fine; it's just a delay in boarding, which is understandable. Aren't Big Brother ACE and Scout always having all sorts of competitions when they have nothing to do? Have them go to the cargo bay to receive Outcast into the island."

After some thought, Kal'tsit still decided to be cautious. She arranged for two idle Elite Operators to go below and receive Outcast and her group. If there truly was a problem, Big Brother ACE and Scout's strength would allow them to easily resist and issue a warning.

She wasn't worried about enemies infiltrating Rhodes Island at all. After all, S.W.E.E.P. was still present on the island. If anyone dared to infiltrate, they probably wouldn't even know what kind of terrifying existence they would face.

On the other side, Big Brother ACE and Scout, who were leisurely resting in the hall, received Kal'tsit's order, and a glint of gold flashed in their eyes, sensing that something was amiss.

If it was just receiving dispatched Operators back, two engineering Operators to ensure the normal opening and closing of the passage would suffice. There was no need to bother these Elite Operators.

That meant there was likely a problem with Outcast's group returning to the island, but Kal'tsit wasn't sure what the problem was, which was why she sent them to investigate.

"What mission did Misery and his team go on?"

"If I remember correctly, it was a routine reconnaissance. I just checked the intelligence department's hall, and they sent back a message not long ago, saying they would be delayed by half a day in returning to the island, and the reason reported was 'force majeure.'"

"Hiss~"

"Don't worry! With Outcast and Misery's capabilities, even if the Witch King himself arrived, it wouldn't leave them completely defenseless. Since it's not a warning, perhaps it's something like a broken-down vehicle. Kal'tsit is just being overly cautious..."

"I hope so."

While chatting, the two, along with their newly assembled small team, arrived at the passage connecting Rhodes Island to the outside world and quickly set up defensive lines.

Even though they felt Kal'tsit was being a bit overly dramatic, as Operators, they were still very cautious and thorough in their actions.

As it grew late into the night, they received news from above: Outcast's group would enter Rhodes Island through their entrance in half an hour.

The Operators, who had been scattered, quickly moved into their designated positions.

With a roar, the gate connecting Rhodes Island to the outside world opened. In the pitch-black night, the impenetrable darkness seemed to swallow everything, making everyone involuntarily tense up.

Soon, accompanied by a piercing horn and the glare of headlights, Outcast's group of four vehicles orderly drove through the passage and into Rhodes Island.

"Yo! Big Brother ACE and Scout, did you offend Kal'tsit? Why are you guarding the gate so late at night?" Misery, in the front car, rolled down his window and saw Big Brother ACE and Scout standing by, then began to grumble.

Seeing Misery's carefree demeanor, the two of them breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed things weren't as bad as Kal'tsit had imagined.

At this point, Misery also noticed the surrounding situation, but entering the island at night, with Kal'tsit, that high-strung old woman's personality, it wasn't impossible for her to make such arrangements, so he didn't feel angry or dissatisfied about it.
