I couldn't understand why Soren would want to marry me. A man like him could have any woman in the city with a snap of his fingers.
Just based on his looks and wealth alone, there'd probably be a line of women stretching from here to the state border if he ever decided to settle down.
But in all the years I'd known Cobb, I'd never heard about Soren having a serious relationship. It seemed impossible that a man in his thirties could still be completely unattached.
Why was I even wondering about his love life? I needed to focus.
Cobb and I had been practically engaged—breakup or not—so why was Soren suddenly interested in marrying me? Everything about this felt calculated.
Was he even interested in women? It was strange how someone so eligible could remain single for so long. I was about to ask when Soren's fingers drummed against the table.
"I can offer you 1.5 million annually," he said casually, as if discussing the weather.
