At that moment, Logan had no idea that his fierce duel with Hawkeye would lead to something completely unexpected—he'd somehow caught the eye of the ship's cook, kalumen. And just like that, she'd decided to join his crew.
Outside the restaurant—Sparks flew.
Logan was fighting harder and harder, his eyes gleaming with excitement.Swordsmanship, Haki, teleportation, healing power—He threw out every trick he had.
Meanwhile, Hawkeye was getting more and more frustrated. And then it hit him—he finally figured out why Logan's moves felt so familiar.
"Who the hell are you to the Golden Lion?!"Hawkeye growled in the middle of the fight.
He'd sensed it earlier—Logan's sword style was just like the Golden Lion's signature technique.Could this guy be the Golden Lion's disciple? That crazy old lion's still alive?!
Logan knew Hawkeye had the wrong idea, but he wasn't about to correct him."Hahahahaha! Hawkeye, beat me first, then I'll tell you."
Hawkeye's expression said, You could just say no, you know.Forget it.
Clang!
The black blade, Yoru, slid neatly back into its sheath.
Logan blinked and reappeared in front of him. "What's this? You're done already?"He was just getting warmed up.
Hawkeye gave a small, crooked smile. "Your swordsmanship and Haki aren't on my level... but I can't beat you."
It was a fair, honest assessment.
That bizarre teleportation ability of Logan's was giving him a massive headache.Even Observation Haki couldn't keep up.If Logan's Haki were on par with his own, he'd have been crushed in seconds.
As the world's greatest swordsman, Hawkeye had seen plenty of strange powers. But this teleportation—this was something else. It made no sense at all.Even more shocking, Logan could use it nonstop while fighting, and his stamina didn't seem to drop at all.He wasn't even breathing hard.
What was it with the East Blue?Supposedly the weakest sea, yet—First there was the Sea King that bit off Shanks' arm.Now there's this guy, someone even he can't defeat.
Maybe Krieg really was the only pushover around here.
Krieg: "???"Hey, someone give me a peanut.
"You're right," Logan nodded, "Haki's definitely my weak point."
For now, all three types of his Haki were still at the beginner level—basically the "starter pack" version.Compared to Hawkeye's mastery, there was no contest. But with teleportation and healing powers, Logan was practically untouchable. He might not win every fight, but he sure as hell wouldn't lose either.
"So," Hawkeye said again, "can you at least tell me your name now?"
"Logan. Captain of the Logan Pirates. Just a rookie who's recently set sail."
Hawkeye nodded slightly, face unreadable. After a pause, he asked another unexpected question."Logan—what's your dream?"
Logan: "???"
Where'd that come from?
But Hawkeye's gaze was firm, clearly expecting an answer. He wanted to know.
A rookie pirate, yet so powerful and unpredictable—what was his goal?Sure, his Haki was still weak, but that could be trained.Once he mastered that—and kept that endless teleportation—There'd be no one in the world who could stop him.
Hawkeye could see it: the potential to shake the world.
So he wanted to know—what was Logan's ultimate purpose? Wealth? Power? The Pirate King's throne? Or something else entirely?
Logan thought for a moment, hands resting behind his head as he turned toward the restaurant. His voice drifted back lazily—
"I want women. Lots and lots of beautiful women."
Hawkeye: "..."Alright. You win.
"Logan," Hawkeye said with a faint grin, "I'll be waiting for you in the New World."
A man like Logan wasn't destined to stay cooped up in the East Blue forever.Their paths would cross again.
Logan waved a hand without looking back.
Hawkeye left, sailing away on his coffin-shaped boat, still feeling a bit salty. He couldn't wait to meet up with Shanks to talk about it—About the Sea King, about Logan, about the mysterious East Blue.
Before leaving, he swung his sword once—And neatly sliced Krieg and Gin, who had tried to sneak away.Krieg's pirate dreams were officially over.
When Logan returned, the crowd outside the restaurant quickly parted, some looking at him with awe, others with fear.
"Logan, you were amazing!""Captain!""Logan!"
Kaya and the others called out to him excitedly.
Logan smiled and nodded in response.
Then he spotted someone unexpected among them—kalumen.
Normally bold and carefree, the wild and boisterous chef looked oddly shy now, fidgeting like a bashful girl.
"Ahem." Nami cleared her throat and pulled kalumen forward."Logan, allow me to formally introduce you—this lovely chef, Miss kalumen, is now an official member of the Logan Pirates!"
"She's one of us now."
Logan: "???"Wait, what? Since when?
How did that happen? He hadn't even asked her to join yet!
But hey, if fighting Hawkeye got him a beautiful new crewmate out of nowhere—He wasn't about to complain.
"You girls didn't pressure her or anything, right?" he asked suspiciously.
They all shook their heads quickly.
"Captain," kalumen said, stepping forward with a confident smile,"they didn't do anything. I joined of my own will. Please take care of me from now on."
Logan stared at her—the raw, untamed beauty in her eyes made his heart stir.
And then—
He paid the bill, gathered the girls, headed back to the Going Merry, and with a thought, summoned an island cloud to lift the ship a thousand meters into the sky.All in one smooth motion.
The girls were left speechless.
"I knew it!"Nami stomped her foot in frustration as Logan and kalumen vanished from the deck in a blur. She didn't need to guess what they were up to.
Nojiko, Kaya, and Makino covered their mouths, giggling.
"Looks like it's another sleepless night," Makino said, yawning.
"Nami," Kaya added, "maybe the Merry just isn't soundproof enough. Did we cut corners during construction?"
Nami sighed, hands on her hips."How was I supposed to know this would happen?"
Another long sigh.Great—dark circles tomorrow for sure.
