Chapter 3 - "The Win-Win Devil Fruit."

-----

-----

After reading the Healing Fruit's description, Logan completely fell in love with his system.

It was just too damn considerate.

Not only could it make him stronger, but it also let him help the beautiful women of the One Piece world. Two birds, one stone.

Sister System, you're the GOAT!

Every single note in the item description hit him right in the feels.

Cures all diseases, regenerates limbs, removes multiple negative effects.

As soon as he read that, the first person Logan thought of was Kaya from Syrup Village.

A kind and lovely young lady, born into wealth but frail since childhood. Her body was weak, and years of sickness had crushed her spirit.

Kaya's face appeared vividly in Logan's mind — a beautiful girl with a pale complexion, her smile as soft as spring wind but shadowed by constant illness.

He didn't know exactly what kind of disease she had, but with a Healing Fruit created by the divine Shennong Beast itself, Logan was sure that any incurable illness could be healed.

And Kaya's dream was to become a doctor who could save lives. No one in the world deserved the Healing Fruit more than her.

Even better, if she ate it, Logan could still share the Devil Fruit's power through his system.

Now that's what you call a win-win. Perfect outcome, perfect mood.

"So this is what it feels like to be a player with cheats, huh?" Logan muttered dreamily.

In just one day, his life had been a rollercoaster.

Graduate from college → dream of buying out America → get hit by a truck → wake up in the One Piece world as a total weakling → awaken the system, open a starter pack, become as strong as a Navy Rear Admiral → meet Nami → now get a Healing Fruit?!

That's a whole lifetime's worth of ups and downs crammed into twenty-four hours.

Logan raised his right hand. In his palm appeared a strange, bright-green fruit with an odd shape — the Healing Fruit.

It even looked like something straight out of nature, perfectly matching the Shennong Beast theme.

After a quick glance, Logan stored it back in the system inventory.

Devil Fruits only revealed their powers once eaten — staring at them wasn't going to do much.

That night, Nami slept deeply.

Not because she trusted Logan that much, but simply because she was exhausted.

It had been her first day at this "job." Four hours of nonstop labor, experimenting with different tasks and methods. The moment she finished, the fatigue hit her like a wave. Even speaking felt like too much effort.

Logan didn't bother her, nor was he worried she might try to escape.

With his Observation Haki, Nami couldn't get far anyway.

And besides, she'd never abandon that ten-million-Berry treasure haul.

So the night passed quietly.

The next morning, Logan was up early, cleaning the pirate ship they'd taken.

He washed the bloodstains off the deck, tossed the corpses overboard — fish food now — and checked the storerooms. Luckily, there were plenty of supplies left.

Once everything was in order, he cooked up some breakfast with what he had on hand.

A while later, Nami walked in, rubbing her messy orange hair and looking half-asleep, her steps stiff from fatigue.

"Morning, Nami," Logan greeted with a grin, sipping his milk.

She just shot him a tired, slightly resentful glare.

Morning? The sun was already high in the sky.

If she hadn't been worked to death yesterday, she wouldn't have slept in like this!

Given that kind of time, she could've stolen at least a few hundred thousand Berries by now.

Maybe it was because they'd worked together yesterday, but Nami seemed more comfortable around him now. She plopped down across from Logan and started eating without ceremony.

"Since I already gave you my most precious thing, don't you think it's time you gave back my treasure?" she said with her mouth half-full.

Logan replied casually, "If you're worried about Arlong, you don't need to be. You're part of the Logan Pirates now — my navigator. Your problems are my problems. I'll take care of Arlong for you."

Nami froze mid-bite.

Her hand hovered in the air, and her big brown eyes widened in shock.

He'd hit the nail right on the head — her deepest secret.

For a few seconds, she didn't know how to react. Then a bitter smile tugged at her lips as she muttered, "You don't get it. They're Fishmen — ten times stronger than humans."

"Arlong's even stronger than the average Fishman, and he's got a whole crew backing him up. You can't beat him. Going against them is suicide."

For years, Arlong had been like a nightmare haunting her.

People had fought back before, filled with hope… but all of them ended up dead.

Over time, Nami had come to see Arlong as an invincible monster.

Even if Kaido and Arlong stood in front of her, unless Kaido crushed Arlong with a single slap, she'd still choose to stay away from both.

Logan sighed, shaking his head at the sight of her defeated expression.

Eight years. That's how long Arlong's shadow had been carved into her heart.

No matter what he said now, she wouldn't believe him.

When they reached Cocoyasi Village, he'd just have to kill Arlong in front of her — slice him into sashimi if needed.

Only then would her heart finally be free.

But for now, he had other priorities.

"Finish your breakfast. We're heading to the Goa Kingdom next," he said, changing the subject.

"What for? Do you know someone there?" Nami asked suspiciously.

"Of course. To recruit more crewmates." Logan leaned back casually. "You're the first member of the Logan Pirates, but you won't be the last. There's too much work on this ship for just the two of us. Honestly, if you hadn't looked so worn out yesterday, you'd be the one cooking this morning. Got it?"

Nami:

She bit her lip and glared at him angrily.

What a jerk!

Logan ignored her death stare and kept eating.

The real reason he was going to the Goa Kingdom was simple — Makino.

Since his system was literally the "Capture Beautiful Women System," he couldn't afford to skip any of the story's heroines.

A new adventure was just beginning, and the first day's stats were crucial.

He swore he'd collect them all — not a single one left behind.
