He waited and waited for it to light up but it never did. After several minutes, the old man said, "Sorry kid you have no magic potential".
As soon as the old man uttered these words, it dawned on Aiden that the old man was probably messing with him. In a fit of rage, he attacked the old man pulling at his beard and hair.
Steven pulled him away from the old man and frantically apologized to the man. The man looked at Aiden in a distasteful manner and then turned away.
Aiden and his parents left the capital feeling dejected. On their way back to Tord city, Crimson thought, "I am a Dragon God and all dragons, even the lesser ones, are masters of magic, and besides, both of my new parents are mages, so how do I not have magic potential or is it because that bitch reincarnated me as a human. Nevertheless, I shall not let my lack of magic potential hinder my quest for revenge. No matter what it takes, I shall have my revenge on tat masked man", Aiden concluded.
As soon as they got back to Savania, he asked Steven to buy him a wooden practice sword and an enchanted practice doll. The difficulty of the doll was divided into fifty levels, each one harder than the last. He trained day and night, striving to get stronger to gain the power he needed to get his revenge.
To avoid destroying things while training, he always went to a small valley where he could train fully without any limitations.
After some months, he managed to get to level twenty one. On a particular day, he went to the valley for his usual training, he met some children who were around his age. He walked up to them and said, "Hey".
One of them whispered, "It is the cursed child, let's get out of here before he transfers his curse to us".
One of the bolder children named Ethan went closer to Aiden and asked, "What do you want".
"I need to train and I need you guys to leave", said Aiden.
"No", Ethan answered, with a smirk.
"Why", Aiden asked, visibly annoyed. "We will only leave if you beat me in a spar", Ethan said, ignoring Aiden's question.
The other children murmured incessantly once Ethan said this but after a while, they quieted down.
"Whatever, let's get this over with and do not go easy on me", Aidensaid.
"I didn't plan on it", Hunter answered.
"Good", Crimson said with a creepy smile plastered on his face.
They got into their fighting stances and got ready to fight using wooden swords. Ethan attacked first, slashing at Aiden's shoulder so fast thatAiden barely managed to parry. Aiden tried to land an attack of his own but Ethics parried his sword and slashed at Aiden's right shoulder. The shoulder went limp and began to bleed, Aiden grunted in pain, "Aaaargh". He tried to attack with his left hand but the pain from his right shoulder slowed down his movements. After a while, he couldn't bear the pain and he collapsed.
He woke up hours later to a harsh pain in his shoulder, he noticed he was at home.
As soon as his parents noticed he was awake, they rushed towards him and said to him at the same time, "Why did you spar with anyone, we told you that you weren't ready yet. You are lucky it was one of the nicer kids, he brought you home after you passed out".
For the next few days, Crimson was unable to train, but as soon as he was feeling better, he resumed his training. He was extremely disappointed in himself for losing to some kid and decided to skip levels twenty one to twenty four of the enchanted doll leaving him at level twenty five. He tried to fight at level twenty five but no matter what he did, it would defeat him in a few minutes.
"I can't continue like this, last time I lost to a mere mortal kid and now I lose to an enchanted doll. If I continue this way, I will never have my revenge and all the disgrace of living in a shriveled up mortal human body will be for nothing", he thought.
He remembered his parents had told him about beasts and other races like dragons, elves, demons, dwarves, vampires, werewolves and the likes even though he already knew about all of that due to his previous status as a dragon god.
After a while, he had make up his mind and said out loud, "I have to go beast hunting".
