A blinding burst of light enveloped Ren as his body was stretched across space. The next thing he knew, he was standing in a thick jungle, the air thick with strange energy.
The forest went on forever around him—ancient trees that stretched towards the sky, their trunks wrapped in glowing vines that pulsed softly with a kind of odd light. The ground was wet, and there was the soft hum of hidden creatures filling the air.
Ren squinted. "Man… this forest is vast and dense."
His senses quickened as he started to scan his environment, with each breath drawn slow and controlled as if it were his final. A light stream of energy—Qi, maybe—was running through the air, caressing his skin like a breeze.
He moved warily, eyes darting left and right, looking for anything relevant—or perilous. Then, suddenly, the tall grass beyond him started swinging wildly.
Ren froze where he stood, muscles tensing. 'Something's coming' he told himself.
The rustling increased louder and louder by the second. Ren raised his guard, energy accumulating involuntarily in his limbs.
Then—
A little bird flew out of the grass, chirping, spreading its wings wildly as if seeking food.
Ren breathed a sigh of relief. "it's Just a bird"—
Before he could say another word, the earth shook. The grass behind the bird exploded as a monstrous wyrm came forth, its open jaws consuming the helpless bird whole.
Blood splattered onto the ground, mingling with the wyrm's thick saliva as it hissed contentedly.
Ren's own breath caught. The creature's scales glimmered like molten obsidian, and its eyes burned a deep crimson, full of primal hunger and fury.
"This thing… it's huge" Ren breathed. The snakes on that were found on earth were next to nothing compared to this abomination. The body of the wyrm alone could crush a carriage, and the crushing weight of atmosphere it seemed to wield made his knees quiver.
Then
A bright, mechanical ping resonated in his head.

Ren blinked at the glowing screen suspended before him, the same one which had brought him here.
"Huh?" He stepped back, eyes blank. "You want me to what?"
The wyrm hissed once more, its jaws red with blood, and the forest became quite —aside from the rapid beating of Ren's heart. "shit" he mutters.
