In the heart of an ancient, towering forest, Nug, the half-orc ranger, found himself ensnared in an impossible trap. The Tree Monster had appeared, shifting between roots and bark. His senses told him to run, but he was with someone. He needed his help. Even though he thrust himself into danger, it was obvious that he wasn't fit for the battle. He picked up his sword and went forward.
The first attack gave him a nasty scar. The next almost took him off his feet. Turtles were known for staying upright, but that was becoming increasingly difficult. He saw an opening in went for it. Luckily, it was just enough.

Nug, with his keen tracking and clever craft, began constructing a device to escape. He needed Daku's help. He had the ability to learn and mimic monsters. That could turn the tide. Daku hesitated, uncertain of his purpose, desperate to escape but unsure of Gaia's game.
"Help me," Nug urged softly. "We can survive this together."
