Naya's soft laughter died away.
Her eyes, previously bright with the relief of seeing Noah awake, suddenly clouded.
She watched as Noah's expression tightened, his gaze searching hers for an answer he was clearly terrified to hear.
Naya hesitated, her fingers twisting the fabric of her skirt as she tried to find the right words.
She knew it was only natural for him to be worried, considering everything they had just endured on that godforsaken island, but she's still worried about how Noah will take the truth.
"No, Noah, he hasn't woken up yet," Naya said, shaking her head slowly.
"He is still unconscious. The surgeons finished their work hours ago, but the lead doctor was very clear with us."
"Adam isn't completely out of danger. He is still at the medical wing at the mansion so they can continue to monitor his condition around the clock."
Naya paused again, biting her lip. She wondered for a fleeting second if she should keep the rest of the prognosis to herself.
