Chapter 49: Wining 60 times
The Academy Cafeteria.
The cafeteria was more like a high-end food court. The air was filled with the mouth-watering aromas of grilled meat, spicy soups, and sweet pastries.
Clatter... Sizzle...
Alex and Sia sat at a corner table, a mountain of seafood between them.
"So," Sia said, peeling a shrimp with practiced ease and dropping it onto Alex's plate. "Tomorrow is the Resource War. Are you nervous?"
"Nervous?" Alex chuckled, popping the shrimp into his mouth. "I'm worried there won't be enough of them to warm me up."
"You're so arrogant," Sia giggled. "But seriously, I heard rumors. The Fire and Lightning departments are mobilizing. They're angry about Valerian."
"Let them come. It saves me the trouble of hunting them down one by one."
Alex looked out the window at the darkening sky. His eyes were calm, but deep within, a storm was brewing.
