Taking advantage of Su Chen and Nicole's fire support, Billy and Anby forced Ethereals back and stood beside the group.
"Boss Nicole, you actually came to save us!"
Billy shouted excitedly.
"Is it not normal for me to come and save you?" Nicole tapped Billy's mechanical head. "To save you, I spent a lot of money to hire Legendary Proxy Phaethon for help!"
"Phaethon!"
Billy immediately became excited, looking around.
"Oh oh oh! Bangboo, wearing a scarf and able to speak? This is the legendary Legendary Proxy Phaethon!"
Billy scrutinized Eous, his admiration and surprise uncontrollable.
Anby was no longer so calm either, looking at Bangboo with curiosity and respect.
"Hehe, that's right, it's me!"
Eous clasped his hands behind his back, his two rabbit ears swaying.
It was clear that Belle enjoyed their adoring gazes.
"Boss Nicole, I'm so touched!"
"I thought you'd let us fend for ourselves in the Hollow, but I didn't expect you to invite Legendary Proxy Phaethon to save us."
Billy shouted excitedly.
"Is that how you usually see me? Cunning Rabbit House pays a lot for employee accident insurance," Nicole said, hands on her hips, displeased. "Once we deal with these Ethereals and get out, I'll teach you a lesson."
"Ahem, I think there's more than that!"
Su Chen interrupted their conversation and said.
"Hmm?"
Everyone looked at Su Chen.
They saw him point around, and 20 Ethereals joined the battlefield, with more Ethereals constantly arriving.
Within a few seconds, the number of Ethereals on the field exceeded 80.
Furthermore, only a minority were Level 1 Ethereals, equivalent to an ordinary person's combat power; more were Level 2 Ethereals, with 3 times an ordinary person's combat power, and Level 3 Ethereals, with 9 times an ordinary person's combat power.
"Hiss!"
Nicole and Belle were startled.
So many Ethereals were a huge problem.
"Proxy, is there any secret path for us to escape?"
Anby asked Eous.
If possible, she wanted to avoid this battle.
"I'm afraid not. This place is surrounded by Ethereals. To get out, we have to deal with them. At least, most of them."
Eous said with some solemnity.
This was truly a major crisis. Sixty or seventy Ethereals—these Ethereals shouldn't have been so concentrated.
But since it was happening, they had to face it.
"Then we'll break through! A few Ethereals are nothing; they can't stop our Omnipotent Agency, Cunning Rabbit House!"
Nicole said firmly.
"Okay, Nicole."
Anby gripped her electric saber, her eyes resolute.
Compared to earlier, when she and Billy had to deal with the threats of Ethereals and the lost simultaneously, the current situation was much better.
At least they had Nicole and Su Chen, and a Legendary Proxy helping them.
"Let's go, Boss Nicole!"
Billy was about to charge forward but suddenly stopped, saying somewhat awkwardly, "Oh right, did you bring any extra ammunition? I'm low on bullets."
Nicole shook her head. She hadn't even gone home, so naturally, she wouldn't have Billy's bullets.
"You can't use mine."
Su Chen spread his hands, helpless.
Although he had an infinite bullet cheat, it only worked for him.
Moreover, his and Billy's bullet types were different and not interchangeable.
"Sigh, then I might really die here. It would have been better if Boss Nicole hadn't come; at least you could have placed a Starlight Knight figurine on my grave."
Billy said jokingly.
"Don't be so pessimistic. I have plenty of bullets. Just kill your share too."
Su Chen patted Billy's shoulder, comforting him.
"Oh wow wow! I'm so touched!"
Billy shouted passionately, "Su Chen, you shine as brightly as the Starlight Knight!"
He hadn't expected Su Chen, who had just joined, to be so good to him, practically his brother from another mother.
"When you run out of bullets, use this."
Su Chen handed Thunderstrike Blade, which Anby had given him, to Billy.
He didn't need Thunderstrike Blade to deal with these Ethereals.
It was better to give it to Billy and save some repair costs later.
"Su Chen, aren't you going to use it?"
Billy took the long saber with a bewildered expression.
In such a critical moment, every weapon was precious. Taking Su Chen's weapon was like taking half his life.
"I have plenty of bullets." Su Chen smiled slightly. "Then, I'm going first!"
He turned and charged into the Ethereal horde, reaching the deepest part of it in a few dashes, separated from Nicole and the others by more than twenty Ethereals.
"W-! What the f—, he, he charged in!"
Billy was aghast, his language module temporarily malfunctioning.
Su Chen, who had just given him his melee weapon, had suddenly charged into the Ethereal horde. Was he trying to die?
"Eh! He just charged in?"
Everyone looked at Su Chen's reckless behavior, feeling a bit dizzy.
An archer's role should be to output damage from behind a warrior or tank.
It's understandable for an archer to want to deal damage, but directly charging into a pile of Ethereals is too reckless!
They knew Su Chen was a good shot, but that didn't mean he could survive in a pile of Ethereals!
"Su Chen gave the saber to Billy and charged into the crowd himself. He's sacrificing himself to save us!"
Belle murmured in shock.
She hadn't expected Su Chen, whom she had always seen as a bit scummy, to do something so selfless. To save others' lives, he was willing to sacrifice himself.
Especially since Su Chen had only joined Cunning Rabbit House two days ago. To sacrifice his life for people he'd known for two days, this person was too noble!
Suddenly, Belle felt very guilty.
She had complained about Su Chen before; she really deserved to die!
Nicole and Anby agreed with Belle's guess, feeling deeply moved.
"Divide the firepower for him; provide support as quickly as possible."
Anby calmly analyzed.
As she spoke, she attacked the Ethereals in front, electricity flashing, every move powerful.
Although they hadn't known him long, she didn't want to lose Su Chen as a teammate.
"We're coming right away, hold on! Su Chen!"
Nicole's briefcase was almost smoking from shooting.
Thinking of Su Chen protecting her when the building fell, and Su Chen carrying her from Fourteenth Street to Sixth Street, Nicole felt a pang in her heart.
Such a Su Chen absolutely couldn't die! If Su Chen, who had joined less than two days ago, sacrificed himself to save Cunning Rabbit House, she would feel guilty for the rest of her life.
"Brother, hold on, we'll be there soon!"
Billy shouted loudly.
He didn't have many bullets, so he could only shoot while using Thunderstrike Blade, which Su Chen had thrown to him, to hack at the Ethereals.
His good brother, who had given him his weapon at this critical moment, absolutely couldn't die!
For a moment, the entire battlefield was divided into two parts.
Su Chen single-handedly faced most of the Ethereal horde, while Nicole and the others desperately tried to push forward from behind.
"Tsk, don't curse me, you guys."
Su Chen sighed, listening to Nicole and the others' shouts.
Although he was aligned with the Chaotic Good alignment, he truly couldn't sacrifice himself to save others, at least not now, as no one was forcing him to.
Charging into the Ethereal horde was certainly not sacrificing himself.
These Ethereals were no threat to him; he could eliminate them all.
He rolled to dodge an Ethereal's stab, letting its sharp claws scrape sparks from the ground.
Su Chen drew Twin Ether Blasters, muttering softly:
"Slaughter, begin!"
