And she divided half of what he could do equally between the two of them.
"Normally, humanity should never have existed. That would have been the right way.
But when God gave up omnipotence, mistakes began to happen.
The Devil and I, until now, have done nothing but wander around and talk.
When we were suddenly given a task, of course we couldn't perform it flawlessly.
But we realized something: the nature of these beings we created is just that.
Even now, though He is no longer almighty, everything that happens is still connected to God—
Even if He doesn't will it.
His power and patience belong entirely to Himself.
If I were to take His place, I could be better than Him."
— The Angel
THE CORRUPTION OF THE ANGEL
For many years, the Angel watched humankind.
Unseen, she interfered with their affairs, helped them.
And she came to understand:
"Humans fight for their ideals.
No peace is ever achieved without war.
No great desire is fulfilled without breaking another."
The more time the Angel spent with her mother, the more she admired her.
But that admiration slowly turned into corruption.
All she could think about was possessing everything her mother had created.
> "No great desire is fulfilled without breaking another."
For years, the Angel designed a dagger, one that could one day allow her to take her mother's place.
And at last, she forged a dagger capable of killing even gods.
Her mother had given her a fragment of the power to know everything.

CHAPTER II: IN THE SHADOW OF THE DAGGER
Now we arrive at the part that tells us why the Angel became the Angel,
and why the Devil became the Devil.
For years, as the Angel worked on her dagger,
the Devil dreamed every night of his sister killing their mother.
But he refused to believe his sister could ever do such a thing.
At last, to prove his dreams wrong,
he wished that his next dream would reveal when it would happen.
When the time was shown, he went there.
While their mother slept, he saw his sister.
And when he realized his dreams had spoken the truth,
he leapt toward her—trying to snatch the dagger from her hand.
He failed.
And the Angel drove the dagger into their mother.
But after the strike, the Devil managed to seize the dagger from her hand.
The Goddess awoke in agony, screaming.
The Devil stared at the dagger in his hand—its blade soaked in his mother's blood.
The Goddess had always known this day would come.
And with her final breath, she said:
> "My child, Rexar... if you do this to me,
then may everything you desire turn against you.
May your face be unrecognizable,
and may you rot alone in another realm."
— The Goddess
With her last words, the Devil was cursed.
The Goddess declared the Devil guilty.
But the truth lay hidden—beneath the shadow of the dagger.
The Devil began to think:
> "How can a dagger in a demon's hand
ever prove the innocence of an angel?"
The Devil, Rexar, fell.
And he was imprisoned within a lower, forsaken realm.
From that day on, Elara was known as the Angel,
and Rexar as the Devil.
