"A slime's peaceful day ends with... parenthood?"
-
Rimuru's POV
She stirred in my arms.
The faint rise and fall of her breathing—so light it barely moved the air—made me hold still, afraid that even a whisper might shatter the fragile silence.
Her hair glimmered faintly in the sunlight that filtered through the trees, blue fading into violet. And those eyes, when they opened again, one red and one gold, seemed to swallow the world whole.
I'd seen a lot of weird things in my life—well, two lives—but this? This was on another level.
"Raphael," I muttered in my mind, "analysis. What the heck is this kid?"
> [Understood. Commencing analysis of the entity's structure.]
A soft hum filled my consciousness. I could almost feel Raphael dissecting the air itself.
> [Result: Entity composed primarily of your magicules. However, soul pattern does not originate from you. An external fragment of consciousness has fused with the magicule core during your evolution. Estimated probability: 99.8%.]
"So you're telling me…" I said slowly, "she's basically my kid and someone else's reincarnation?"
> [Affirmative. The entity exhibits unique magical resonance with you. Current designation: offspring equivalent.]
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "Offspring equivalent, yeah that's what you said earlier.. I'm officially a parent now..."
> [Congratulations: This is your first instance of direct progeny.]
"…You didn't have to say it like that."

Milune's POV
Warm.
That was the first thing she noticed. The world was still blurry, colors melting into each other, but the warmth surrounding her was steady and calm.
Her fingers twitched. The sensation of air was strange—new—yet comforting. She remembered light, pressure, and then… a voice.
Soothing. Familiar.
It wasn't clear, but deep inside her, something recognized it.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw him—the one who had held her when she first awakened. Blue hair, gentle gold eyes that looked both kind and tired.
She smiled without meaning to. "Papa."
The word just slipped out again, natural and certain.
-
Rimuru's POV
I froze. Again.
Okay, fine. Maybe it was cute the first time. But hearing it again, with her looking up at me like that? Yeah, I wasn't prepared for this level of adorab— I mean responsibility.
"Ah—um, listen," I began awkwardly. "I think there's been a misunderstanding. I'm not exactly—"
She tilted her head, red and gold eyes shimmering. "Papa?"
My words died. Raphael, traitor that it is, stayed silent.
I sighed, slumping slightly. "Fine. We'll… talk about that later."
-
Milune's POV
He looked funny when he tried to talk. His expressions changed a lot—sometimes calm, sometimes nervous. But his magicules… they felt familiar.
I could feel them now, bright and swirling, like a sea of light that connected to my own.
It feels like a warm embrace.
Still, her chest tingled—an itch of power she didn't understand. It pulsed and grew, until the air around them started to ripple.
"Papa," she whispered, voice trembling. "It's… loud."
-
Rimuru's POV
I felt it immediately—her magicules spiking like a wave about to break.
"Raphael, what's happening!?"
> [The subject's core is unstable. Excess magicule flow detected. If uncontained, output may result in spatial distortion within thirty seconds.]
"You could've warned me sooner!"
> [You did not ask.]
"Not helping!"
Milune's body began to glow, faint trails of light lifting from her hair and fingers. The forest air thickened, twisting with pure magic energy. Leaves trembled, and the ground cracked under the pressure.
"Okay, okay—calm down," I muttered, kneeling beside her. "Hey, you're okay. You're safe."
But she looked terrified, clutching her chest as if the energy itself was burning.
Then instinct kicked in. Without thinking, I reached out and wrapped her small hands in mine, channeling my own magicules in a steady, synchronized rhythm.
> [Suggestion: Establish resonance link. Your magicules will stabilize hers.]
"Already on it," I said through gritted teeth.
Light flared between our palms—blue merging with violet. Her wild power thrashed, then began to soften, aligning with the flow of mine.
Her breathing slowed. The forest calmed. The wind stopped howling.
For a moment, all that existed was the quiet hum between us.
-
Milune's POV
The noise faded. The pain dulled. All that was left was his voice.
Warm. Steady. Comforting.
She felt her magic settle, melting into something like a calm and bottomless lake. His light mixed with hers, forming a calm rhythm that made her eyelids heavy.
"…Papa," she murmured softly, voice trembling. "It's… quiet now."
She leaned forward, resting her forehead against his shoulder.
-
Rimuru's POV
I let out a long breath. "Crisis averted."
> [Stabilization complete. Subject is no longer emitting uncontrolled energy.]
"Good. Because if she exploded, I'd never recover from it—"
A sudden gust of wind slammed down beside us, sending dust flying.
"Rimuru! I sensed a massive energy spike!"
Of course. Veldora.
The dragon's humanoid form appeared out of nowhere, arms crossed, cape billowing dramatically.
I glared up at him. "You could land softly, you know."
"Hah! You jest! Such power and presence of mine cannot be ignored!" He peered at Milune, eyes widening. "Oh? Who's the tiny one? A new subordinate?"
Milune blinked up at him sleepily. "...Uncle dragon?"
Veldora's jaw dropped. "U–Uncle!?"
I couldn't help it. I laughed.
"Guess that's your title now," I said.
He huffed, clearly torn between pride and confusion. "Hmph! Very well, I shall accept this noble designation!"
Milune's eyes fluttered closed again. I felt her magic finally quiet down to a gentle pulse, steady and calm.
I looked at her sleeping face, then at the faint glow between our joined hands.
"She's… really something else(really adorable)," I murmured.
> [Affirmative. Individual: Milune Tempest. Status—Stable. Magicule link synchronized. Emotional connection established.]
I smiled faintly. "Milune Tempest, huh?"
For once, Raphael didn't do a tsukkomi.

End of Chapter 2
> [Observation: Entity has recognized you as primary bond. Probability of emotional attachment—100%.]
