Lyra's words hung in the air, and Kael's eyes locked onto hers. "What do you mean?" he asked, his voice low and urgent.
Lyra took a deep breath, trying to process the memories that were flooding her mind. "I think I'm not who I think I am," she repeated. "I think I'm the daughter of the entity, not the king."
Kael's eyes widened in shock. "What?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Lyra nodded, the memories coming back to her. "I remember being born in a different world, a world of darkness and shadow," she said. "I remember my mother, the entity, holding me in her arms and promising to protect me."
Kael's face was pale, and Lyra could see the shock and confusion in his eyes. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked, his voice low.
Lyra shook her head. "I didn't know," she said. "I didn't remember. But I think that's why the king wants me, why he's trying to use me to break the curse."
Kael's eyes narrowed. "We'll get to the bottom of this," he said. "But first, we need to get out of here and find a way to stop the king."
Lyra nodded, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that their journey was far from over, but she was determined to uncover the truth and break the curse.
As they made their way through the forest, Lyra couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being watched. She glanced around, but there was no one in sight.
"Kael, I think we're being followed," she said, her voice low.
Kael nodded, his eyes scanning the trees. "I know," he said. "Let's keep moving."
They quickened their pace, their senses on high alert. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows.
"Lyra," the figure said, its voice low and husky.
Lyra's eyes locked onto the figure, and her heart skipped a beat. It was a woman, with long, dark hair and piercing green eyes.
"Who are you?" Lyra asked, her voice firm.
The woman smiled, her eyes gleaming with a knowing light. "I'm your mother," she said. "And I've been searching for you, Lyra.
