Chapter 2 - THE BILLIONAIRE'S ARROGANCE

I got up from my bed, declaring, "I can't take this anymore. I need to confront Annabelle, I need to question her."

I grabbed my car keys, got into my car, and drove back to Alex's house.

As I arrived, his gatekeeper, Caleb, opened the gate for me, and I drove in. I walked straight to the front door and pushed it open, not caring what I might find inside.

Upon entering, the house was silent and seemingly empty. I called his name – "Alex!" – but received no reply. I found Caleb, the gateman, and asked him, "Where's your boss?"

"My boss went out to drop off his friend who just visited," Caleb responded.

"Open the gate!" I commanded.

I drove out of Alex's house and headed to Annabelle's apartment, which I had only rented for her a few weeks before her arrival in the country.

When I got there, I discovered her room was still locked. I had no one to talk to, no one to offer even a word of comfort. The pain of Annabelle's betrayal lay heavy in my heart.

I drove to the City Choice Hotel, where Alex had secured a five-year standing arrangement and introduced me to the manager, instructing him that I should be granted access any day I wished to relax there. The truth was, Alex loved me; he was ready to move heaven and earth for my sake.

We had only met five years ago, when I was selling fruit for my mom at a roadside stall on Doyers Street. He came to buy some fruit, and that's how we met. To show me how serious he was, he enrolled me in Columbia University, one of the best and most expensive universities in New York. He had also been taking care of my family throughout my college days.

And now, our wedding was set for next week, and this was all unfolding today. My mind kept battling with itself, grappling with whether I should forgive him.

I went to the receptionist and demanded a key to my room.

"Sorry, ma'am, Mr. Alex is currently occupying the room," she replied.

"Mr. what?" I gasped. So, after what happened at his house, he had still brought Annabelle to a hotel? For what, exactly?

I rushed to the room, determined to confront him, or better yet, the devil who called herself my best friend. I received the shock of my life as I opened the door.

This time, it wasn't just Annabelle. Alex was there, intimately engaged with three other girls, Annabelle still among them. They didn't even notice my presence when I burst in. One of the girls was lying on the bed, her legs spread wide, and Alex was on top of her. Annabelle stood on the bed, feeding Alex from her breast, while the third girl was kissing him.

Tears streamed from my eyes. Just when I had been thinking of forgiving him, I was met with yet another shocking revelation. How had I never noticed this kind of behavior from him all this time?

I couldn't watch another second; my heart was a leaden weight in my chest.

"Alex!" I shrieked his name.

All of them froze, their eyes widening, turning to stare at me as I stood in the doorway. He removed his penis from the girl's vagina, stepping down from the bed, his gaze fixed on mine as he came close to me.

"Honey, I'm so sorry, please," he stammered, his hand reaching out.

"If that evil hand of yours dares to touch me, you will regret ever knowing me!" I choked out, tears blurring my eyes.

Annabelle scrambled off the bed, dropping to her knees and pleading with me to forgive her, claiming it was the devil's work. But I barely registered her words. She wasn't the one I wanted to confront at that moment.

The two other girls remained on the bed, still naked, completely unconcerned, simply watching the drama.

"It's over between us, Alex. Don't ever call or text me again!" I declared, the words tearing from my throat.

"You dare not break up with me! Our wedding is next week! Do you even realize I'm a billionaire? Every other girl wants me!" he scoffed, his voice dripping with arrogance.

"Oh, I will break up with you, and watch your reaction! I can't marry you, Mr. Billionaire!"

I retorted, then spun on my heel and stormed out of the room.
