Blanche's POV
Before the crowd could finish their chatter, I watched Drew and Nicholas descend from the second floor.
Zain appeared from the restroom area just as they reached the bottom.
The instant this trio of powerhouses showed up, silence fell over the room. Everyone immediately shifted into suck-up mode.
I glanced around for Vincent and his date but came up empty. They'd vanished since I'd returned from the bathroom.
Zain strolled over to Drew and Nicholas, and Drew asked casually, "Where'd you wander off to, Zain?"
Zain accepted the red wine Drew offered, swirled it slowly, then answered in that rough, low voice with a hint of amusement, "Spotted a little kitten. Decided to play with it for a while."
Drew's brow furrowed as he studied Zain with interest. "A kitten? Since when do you mess around with cats?"
Drew knew damn well Zain had zero interest in pets.
Zain just lifted his shoulders, sipped his wine, and said vaguely, "Maybe I'm developing new interests."
