Blanche's POV
I stood frozen, my mind going completely blank as Carry shoved me aside.
The fever still burned through me, leaving me weak, so when she pushed me hard, I stumbled sideways.
Carry burst into tears, crying out, "Dad I... Dad!..."
Zain rushed over, swept her into his arms, and soothed her, "I'm here. It's okay, Carry."
She clutched at Zain' shirt, tears streaming down her face. Between sobs, she said, "Dad, where's Miss Joanna? I want Miss Joanna..."
Zain' expression softened as he nuzzled her gently, his voice tender. "How about I take you to see Miss Joanna this weekend?"
Carry's bottom lip trembled. "No, I want to go right now. Dad, I want Miss Joanna to play piano for me. I want her to read me stories. Dad, I want Miss Joanna here with me."
Watching Zain' face crumble at Carry's tears, I knew he'd give her anything she wanted.
"Alright, I'll call Miss Joanna and ask her to come keep you company, okay?"
Carry's tears stopped instantly. "Okay."
