The atmosphere in Norton's mansion was quiet and calm as though it was shielded from every chaos existing outside the four corners of her walls.
The wide and expansive living room was luxuriously furnished with every single item in the house screaming prestige and dominance.
Stella laid on the long couch unconscious, her handbag on the coffee table, her brow furrowing but she wasn't waking up.
James stood at the centre of the living room, his phone on his ear as he answered a call.
At the end of the call, he slowly turned around, casting a quick glance at the lady laying on the couch.
He exhaled sharply.
In slow steady steps, he walked over to the couch, setting down his phone on the coffee table; he sat down beside Stella on the couch.
His gaze trailing down her face, cold and emotionless.
After a moment, he lifted his hand and gently tugged a few loose strands of her hair behind her ear.
The gesture was tender, but his eyes remained detached.
