Chapter 8 - Infiltrating The Holy Land

It was the year 1498 by the sea calendar, and Wayne didn't recognize any of the faces before him.

The only one that caught his eye was a little girl with dark green hair, who somewhat resembled Makino.

The villagers' curious yet wary gazes swept over him in unison. Without waiting for them to question him, Wayne immediately flashed a hearty smile: "To celebrate our move to Windmill Village, everyone, remember to come to our house warming party later; it's my treat!"

After several rounds of drinks, Wayne and Rouge were readily accepted by the villagers, becoming members of Windmill Village.

Upon returning home, Wayne yawned and looked at Rouge: "Madame Rouge, do you like it here? If you're not comfortable with it..."

"It's lovely," Rouge interrupted him, a rare smile gracing her face as her gaze swept over the rotating windmills outside the window and the rolling hills, "The scenery here is beautiful, and the people are very nice. I like it here."

Wayne nodded: "That's good. I'm relieved."

Rouge keenly caught the hint of departure in his tone: "Mister Wayne... are you leaving?"

"Yes, I'm going to Mariejois to kill a few Celestial Dragons for fun."

"What?!" Rouge yelled, her face instantly turning pale. "Are you crazy? That's where the gods live, you—you'll die!"

"Hmph, what kind of gods are Celestial Dragons? They're no different from us; they'll die if they're killed."

Wayne shrugged indifferently: "Anyway, I have a reason I must go."

"Is it for a commission?"

"Heh," Wayne chuckled lightly, not answering directly. "You could say that. Don't worry, I'll be back."

"After all, my reward is still with you! I'm off!"

Before his words faded, Wayne had already soared into the sky, transforming into a blur, disappearing into the blue sky in the blink of an eye.

Mariejois.

Three days had passed since Roger's execution. Roger's words before his execution had already spread across the sea, and within a few short days, countless pirate crews hoisted their flags and set sail, attempting to find the Great Treasure that Roger had mentioned was all connected.

Each of them spoke of dreams and freedom, but in reality, they were merely out to loot, burn, kill, and create chaos.

"Bang!"

Saint Nasujuro, the bald old man holding the first-generation Kitetsu, slammed his hand on the table: "Damn Roger, what in the world does that guy want to do?!"

"Hmph, isn't his goal obvious? To make the sea even more chaotic, attempting to shake our rule!" The speaker was Saint Saturn, wearing a black flat hat.

Saint Warcury, with his handlebar mustache, waved his hand: "Roger is already dead; there's no point in talking about that now. The most important thing now is to purge the Roger Pirates remnants and absolutely not let them spread the truth of history!"

Saint Nusjuro, the God of Finance and War, said in a deep voice, "I suggest increasing the navy's budget and expanding their army to suppress the pirates who are about to set sail. At the same time, the CP department must also take action to find Roger's remnants."

"Agreed!" "Agreed!"

As the supreme rulers of the World Government, they clearly understood that Roger had opened Pandora's Box, and this process was almost certainly irreversible.

They could only minimize the impact as much as possible, lest anyone other than Roger discover the truth of history. They didn't care how many people died because of pirates on the sea.

Because for them, it was actually a good thing. The more pirates there were, the more willingly the World Government's allied nations would pay the Celestial Tribute, wouldn't they?

Late at night, Mariejois.

Wayne silently infiltrated the core area of Mariejois without anyone noticing, which showed how low the security was here.

Because for hundreds of years, no one had ever dared to cause trouble in Mariejois. Even someone as strong as Rocks never directly attacked Mariejois itself but chose to attack the Celestial Dragons' hunting ground—God Valley.

No matter what, this was a good thing. After tonight, his name would surely be written into history!

Wayne had two goals for this trip.

The primary goal, needless to say, was to wreak havoc in Mariejois and eliminate over 50 Celestial Dragon scumbags.

The secondary goal was naturally robbery. The Celestial Dragon families had been plundering the people's wealth for hundreds of years, and each of them was incredibly rich. Wayne would definitely take the gold, silver, and jewels, but he was more interested in high-value items like famous swords or Devil Fruit.

For this, Wayne specifically prepaid 500 points plus the 500 point reward for completing the [Last Farewell] mission in exchange for a treasure-hunting artifact: the Treasure Map Creator.

This thing could scan high-value items within a twenty-kilometer radius, generate a real-time treasure map, and provide navigation guidance to the nearest treasure location. It was incredibly useful.

Before starting his operation, Wayne started a live broadcast, allowing Golden Lion Shiki, who was in Impel Down, to see his actions.

Actually, Wayne didn't really need to broadcast now, but he really wanted to show off to someone.

'Now, let's begin the operation!'

Impel Down.

Shiki, who was sleeping, was awakened by the constantly vibrating live broadcast Den Den Mushi. It wasn't until he clearly saw the image projected by the Den Den Mushi that he immediately sobered up.

"Jiehahaha, has that kid finally started?"

In the image, Wayne arrived at a Celestial Dragon mansion in a non-core area and then skillfully infiltrated the luxurious residence.

Because Wayne understood that Celestial Dragons also had distinctions of nobility, the high-ranking Celestial Dragons all lived in the core area. He might accidentally encounter Shanks' father or the Gorosei, which would definitely expose him prematurely and affect his plan.

Therefore, Wayne's target was clear: those lower-ranking Celestial Dragons. After all, even the lowest-ranking Celestial Dragons were all rolling in money.

Inside the Celestial Dragon mansion.

A bloated Celestial Dragon, who was sleeping soundly with a woman in his arms, was startled awake by the commotion. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and, upon seeing Wayne's smiling face, immediately became furious:

"You lowly bug! Who allowed you..."

Before he could finish speaking, Wayne waved his hand, and the lampstand on the Celestial Dragon's bedside table directly pierced the back of the Celestial Dragon's head.

"Shh you're too loud." Then, Wayne knocked out the terrified, naked pleasure slave, pulled open the bedside table drawer, took out an intricately patterned Devil Fruit, and put it into his storage space.

Golden Lion, who was watching the live broadcast: "Jiehahaha, well done! The Float-Float Fruit should be used like this! Eh, is that kid perhaps trying to..."

In the image, Wayne arrived in front of a heavy alloy vault door deep within the mansion.

Wayne stretched out his hand, and the power of the Float-Float Fruit activated. The heavy alloy vault door began to squirm and deform, directly "floating" out a large hole.

Entering the treasure vault, dazzling light almost overflowed the screen: mountains of gold coins, golden vessels inlaid with various gems, artworks, and precious rare ores.

Wayne showed no hesitation whatsoever. With a wave of his hand, everything in the treasure vault instantly disappeared, all stored in his personal storage space.

Anyway, Wayne's thought was to fill his storage up first, and then if he found better things later, he could just throw some stuff out.

After leaving this mansion, Wayne repeated the process, stealthily killing Celestial Dragons on sight, robbing treasures on sight, and then moving on to the next location after robbing.

As time passed, one Celestial Dragon after another died by Wayne's hand, and one Celestial Dragon treasure vault after another was emptied by Wayne.

It truly thrilled Golden Lion, though it seemed a bit different from how he imagined causing havoc in Mariejois.
