Chapter 2 - revision for the story

The Red wolf of the west

Chapter 1

Our story begins in the town red horse Rock, in a saloon, and more visibly, the dusty road. The atmosphere is carefree and full of pristine beer and joy however, three men all wearing black hats part of the Black Hat Outlaw. But that tormented the West.

They all strut into the bar as if they own the place, demanding free drinks, waving and showing off their shiny new industrial-grade pistols, known as Colts. They think themselves pretty big men for having that kind of firepower. Nobody takes them seriously and continues drinking and having a good time without a care in the world that the group's weapons are pointed at them.

A stranger listening to the whole conversation, sitting in the corner booth of the saloon, drinking his favorite cocktail, the dusty red special straight from the bottle, a sheriff's badge hanging loosely from his red shirt, his gray hat

His usual rugged carefree yet with authority behind his voice, he says," You boys are looking real lost here, come on, kick back and relax. I will buy you boys a couple of drinks, or if you keep making yourselves look stupid, I would suggest you pack up what you have and head out, letting these fine folks get back to their beer and gambling.

The biggest of the three outlaws is James. The most hot-headed one stomps over, swatting the alcohol out of Rex's hand. James then says, 'The fuck are you saying, you bastard?' I ought to blow you away right now and make an example out of you nobody messes with the black hats.

The entire bar erupts Into a ruckus of laughter after James's pitiful threat, even as Rex's face is still clouded in shadow, but his Hazel eyes stare daggers into James's face. Even though James has guns in Rex's face, He doesn't flinch, looking them dead in the eyes, noticing every shake and shimmer in their eyes and hands. Some of them had never fired a gun before. Rex finally retorts, Now that's just a waste of perfect alcohol. The bar lights up with laughter again; however, it quiets down a bit when the other two, Rick and Alex, start pointing guns at other people and demanding money from them. Rex gets serious. Finally, he leaned his scarred face forward.

Rex's face has a large red scar in the shape of a wolf over his face stretching all the way down On the right side of his face The wolf's jaw encircling his eye as it passed his cheek to the tip of his chin its design is way too detailed and horrific to look like an accident someone must have physically forced and burned a scar like this into his face to his face.

Rex's voice drops from laid back and casual to rugged and threatening, then says, "Alright, boys, you had your fun. Remove those pieces of junk from their kind faces, or there will be consequences. Now sit your asses down, or I'll bury you all where you stand. Two clicks can be heard in the silence. After he speaks, meaning he's clocked back, hammers on, both of his black twin revolvers are beneath his waist, ready to blow any three of them away.

They all look at each other a bit nervously. This has never really happened to them before.

No one man has challenged them this seriously. Usually, when people hear they're affiliated with the black hat, they go screaming and running or just hand over the goods. James, who's still pointing his gun at Rex Tense's way up, looking into Rex's cold eyes, realizing they're up against the Red Wolf of the West, out of desperation and fear, he grabs an old lady off a stool and points. His gun at her head, threatening, "If anybody moves, this old witch is dead. We're taking everything you guys have. We're not to be messed with. Fork over the goods, or I'll kill her right now.

As his grip tightens on the old lady, a loud bang! It can be heard as James falls over to the ground, dead, with a bullet shot in his heart. Rex's bullet, accurate as hell, went clean underneath the old lady's ear, right into his heart, killing him on the spot.

The other two begin to panic. Alic doesn't know what to do. Rick tries to pull his gun on Rex. A second shot rings out.

Blowing off multiple of Rick's fingers as he crouches down in pain, holding his nearly fingerless hand, Alec tries to flee from the saloon Rex picking up the gun of James and shoots Alec in his knee watching him struggle to stand and Rick's endless whales of pain as he cradles his bloody hand wrecks finally walks over Cracking two glasses over their head Then, hog ties them up, leaving them for deputies William and Jaxson, who arrive after hearing the commotion. After the deputies let them take Rick and Alec.

While Rex personally takes James's body out back and buries him, he stays there for a couple of moments, whispering a prayer over his grave before burying him. Rex no longer enjoys killing. The last time he did it was in the name of vengeance, not in the name of justice, like it should be. He promised he would never kill in any other name other than justice again, in his father's name. After finishing James's burial, he checks out his gun. His body craftsmanship was exceptional. Definitely, industrial grade, but no serial number, meaning somebody's been trafficking these weapons.

The year is 1870, Sheriff Rex Wulf, one of the most feared sheriffs in the Wild West, A man feared by most. He has many names; some call him the red wolf of the West, a monster panting him as if he were a deadly Blood wolf come to claim the wicked on behalf of the devil himself.

Rex, who always strives to uphold the law in the name of justice and righteousness; however, as much as he tries to be a good sheriff, the West always has its way, corrupting Good men and turning them into scoundrels, murderers, thieves, and killers. Unfortunately, Rex is no different, even though Rex never enjoys taking a life. Most of the time, he has no choice. He has buried over 179 outlaws in the span of about 7 years. Hell, many even come after him personally after hearing his reputation, always trying to take down the top dog, but never succeeding.

The people of his town, he's protecting and watching over kids playing the streets without any worry of danger people are free to set up business without worrying about getting robbed even some black folks Who would be racially segregated other towns but not really here as long as everybody pitches in to the betterment of the town our welcome, those who decide to trample upon attempt at a unified town in the West we'll answer to him personally.

Rex wasn't always like this, though his father was a man who believed in absolute justice,

His father, David Wulf, was also a sheriff, A good one too, until his heart shadowed over time. The West did what it does best and turned a good man into a black hearted sheriff who killed without mercy.

Rex remembers very well his own treatment at the hands of his father. He was raised to be brutally efficient and merciless, just like his father. Rex always hated getting compared to his father; at the same time, he very much loved and cared for his father. Despite everything his father put him through in his developmental stage of life, Rex still took care of him.

Often carrying his dad to bed, even when he was horribly drunk and abusive, he was the only parent Rex had left. So he still did very much respect his father for taking care of him, so he cleaned the house, did all his chores on time and still took care of his father all his harsh words and abuse toward Rex, but Rex knows there's just as much pain in his father as he was in When he lost his mother that was the night rex's father's number was the same my mother when Rex was about seven years old his mother was killed by outlaws out of revenge against rex's father for arresting their leader.

After his mom's funeral, Rex's father, David, disappeared for a couple of days, only to come back drenched in blood, the blood of outlaws. His dad even brought home a gift the man who shot rex's mother Tied up in the back dangling from his feet his arms were severed off yeah his father forcibly took rex outside With a gun and made Rex fire and kill his first outlaw.

Even though the outlaw had raped and murdered women even killed his mother despite the rage Rex felt for this man it still left Rex traumatized and sick in his gut for days even having nightmares about having to deliver the killing shot.

After this, Rex could barely recognize his father in the man he had become. Anytime Rex disobeyed, He would get severely beaten. His father, who used to be a loving and caring man, went mad and disappeared. Rex never saw his father again.

His father only left a note. David said he was going out to cleanse the west of its wickedness.

After weeks and months of no information on his father, David Wulf's formerly white sheriff's hat was found weeks later, covered in blood.

However, the body was never found again And his story was buried as another man fell into the madness of the West and got himself killed, leaving Rex alone to brave the West alone.

Rex always tries to be a better example of what a good sheriff should be. Still, even after only 10 years as sheriff and with the legend and fear his name brings nowadays, it's clear he's far from what he wanted himself to be and closer to what his father wanted him to be at the age of 22.

Page 3

Back to the present age 22

The next morning, after Rex buried James, he stumbled out of his bed in the local sheriff's home, heading out back with a couple of buckets. He heads over to the local water pump, filling the buckets full of not-so-great-smelling water to wash himself off. It's just water, no soap. Hence, he still smells like a horse's ass, at least he's a little bit cleaner; then again, almost everybody in this town does.

After he got his outfit. Putting on his gray hat and his signature black crocodile skin leather duster. For a wrinkled red shirt and black pants stained from the night before. His silver sheriff's badge was located over his belt.

For a while, he circles the town checking if anything's out of the ordinary. He notices a couple of wagons on their way. Rex recently heard that the town has added a new feature due to its reputation; now, it also has some roosters and hens and new cows .

A very wise addition to our small town, as they'll get good business with the eggs and chicken meat they will produce.

Rex begins assisting with the unloading process. One of the riders, a young boy in the carriages, moving a bit slowly than the others, once he sees Rex, He begins slowly grabbing his shotgun from the back of one of the carriages, whipping around to aim at Rex

Only to hear two shots ring out as he drops to the floor with two bullet holes in his chest. Rex stands near him and asks," Who are you, and who sent you to kill me? Tell me, and I may save your life.

The boy said " I'm Randal… ugh, my father and I were iron workers. We were told that if I put you to rest, sir, they would make sure our iron shop still stood. The black hats want you dead… they say you're messing up their business… but damn man you really shot me, you really are the Red wolf… You certainly do live up to your reputation, sir, Red Wolf.

Rex responds," You're damn right I did, kid, and it's Wulf, not wolf. Thank you for that information, son. Oi, deputies, get this boy some bandages and make sure he doesn't pass. It ain't this boy's time yet. I also need to speak with Mayor Thomason. He says as he checks out the boys' surprisingly high-grade rifle, another trafficked weapon in Rex's town.

Rex is now heading into the town, keeping a close eye on things around him. Somebody wants him gone.

He can smell something Ain't right past the usual pungent Odor of the area. He arrives at the mayor's office, pounding on the door." Oi, it's me. The mayor's wife lets him in. Rex takes off his hat in respect to her and heads inside, putting his hat back on. He enters the mayor's room." There you are, you fat bastard, you barely get out of this room anymore, old timer. It's good to see you, Thomason. He shakes the mayor's hand.

Thomason, standing up proud, a smirk on his face as he says," There's the dumbest son of a bitch in town. I would have thought somebody would have shot your dumb ass by now, ha, good to see you, Wolf, glad to see you still standing tall.

Rex" barely thought old friend couple hours ago, some kid tried to off me, said he was a part of the black hats. This is a bit of an unusual play from them. I've been following their work for a while to try to take him down one day. But They don't usually go out of the way to get rid of somebody personally like this, and let me tell you something smells about this whole situation, with your permission man, I'd like to step out of town for about a week I need some answers and let's face it, the black hats have been at it for far too long. It's time for their operation to go down.

The Mayor nods his head understandingly:

I'm tempted to say no, Rex, I don't want to risk losing a good sheriff like yourself. And especially if this whole situation has you smelling something wrong, that means you could be walking into something too much even for you. It could put the town in danger, but you're one of our best, Rex. I'll assign a few deputies who seem pretty young, but I think they can take the position temporarily in your place.

One week brings those bastard black hats to justice, but do me a favor and do not get yourself too far into the rabbit's den. If this is as deep as you smell it, this could be bad for everybody involved. Godspeed, Sheriff Wolf.

Page 4

The daylight seems to be on Rex's side with the Sun just barely rising, he heads to the tow barn to get his horse, brown and white, an absolute beauty and strong stallion Quarter Horse breed, he named Davis after his father or who he used to be, Davis Wulf. After Rex saddled up on Davis, he left the town in the capable hands of the deputies riding Davis far and fast.

After about a 15-mile ride, He arrives at the next town over, called The Rusty Ridge, notorious for gangs, outlaws, and bandits. Right off from the moment Rex arrived, some citizens tried to hustle me for the horse. He just glared at them from under his hat. Many of them already know who Rex is; they back off immediately and turn the other way. After parking his horse at the local stable, glaring at anybody to try and take it, he enters their local saloon, The Rusty Edge, they call it. After entering, he notices many of those black hats sitting at the corner table, including their boss.

Ramon Black, head of the black hats, used to be an earnest man before he sold out his soul to greed. Rex walks up to the bar, tapping his hand on the hardwood a couple of times to gain the barkeep's attention. Once she's over, he tells her to buy a whole round for those gentlemen in the black hats over there, and she does as he requested with a wink after she delivers the drink. He heads over, sitting down in the chair in front of them

Rex then says," Good morning fellas, On meet this time if y'all willing to answer a few questions, and I ain't taking no for an answer.

One of their guys on the corner says Questions now, who in the hell do you… He gets stopped by Raymon, putting his finger up to the man's lips.

Raymond speaking in his usual gruff, Charismatic yet suspicious tone: Well, well, well, if it isn't the famous Red wolf of the west. All the way out here questioning u, huh… You see, this man here, boys, has well over a thousand bodies of outlaws like us under his belt; they say his shot is quicker than a Wolf's bite. Never misses and twice as vicious, and they say in a one-on-one, always bet on the Red wolf of the west, but we here are not one on one, so let's humor this man before we send him off to his early grave.

Rex responds calmly yet firmly:

Now, boys, I'd rather not make a mess of the place." His hand is firmly gripping his dual holsters now. All I want is some questions answered. Then, you guys can go back to your drinking as a bonus,

I'm even be willing to pay the entire tab For you all you got to do tell me who this partner of yours is And who you're dealing with this W.W.V group who are the and why they want me dead either you answer now, or else I'll send yawl to meet the good God in the sky so you can confess to him Instead.

Raymond: Now that info is above our pay grade, sheriff, and as a good businessman myself, I can't be going exposing client information like that. And I've been paid to do a job."

Raymond begins to stand up, along with his twelve guys, around the bar. You came here tonight to die, sheriff, and the black hats never let their business fall through. Let's see if you still got it in you, sheriff, because this is your last night alive.

The silence is deafening around the bar, the last chilling words of Raymond ringing in everyone's head. Rex smirks.

Rex: It's a good thing. Then, I brought enough bullets for each of you, so who's first? I'm not leaving here without the information. I asked, no matter how many of you I have to go through, you said you had heard of me before, which means. If you know anything about me. You'll know at the very top, I'm a man of my word.

Page 5

At a moment's notice, Rex flipped up the table. Hiding behind it as bullets rang out over his head, they did manage to tag him in his left bicep, but it doesn't focus on the pain at all. He waits there for them to reload and fire more. He's not just hiding like a coward. He's analyzing the patterns between loads and shots till finally Rex has the pattern down after they all stopped to reload.

He then comes out of hiding, diving behind the bar, shooting 4 guys, each in vital locations: one in the neck, another in the eye, and two in the heart. Four down, 8 to go. He waits for another round of bullets to come overhead.

Only for one to try and sneak around the corner to shoot him, in lucky timing, Rex reaches over, grabs a mug, and smashes it over his head. Shards of glass sticking out of his skull, using his feet to trip up the guy behind the bar counter, where he wraps his arm around his neck and breaks it. Not even wasting a bullet on this one.

Rex "five down, seven left all reloaded, bodily injuries, a bullet wound in my left bicep, in a second the way through my ribs, full recovery in two weeks, black mentality is slowly waning due to his growing fear, now is the time to exploit this fear.

The Shots once more begin to ring over his head, the black hats moving in closer as others lay down cover fire. Rex then reaches over, grabbing a bottle of alcohol

Strangely enough, he then lights a cigarette, putting it into a napkin, making a Molotov, and he chucks it over his head. It lands in between them all momentarily, disturbing their rate of fire after that. Rex. Leans over the counter and shoots another three

Rex does end up grazed in the shoulder blade by Raymond, who has 4 guys left

Meanwhile, Rex has five bullets left. Raymond is now beginning to panic. He makes his way towards the exit. Leaving his group behind, who are all greatly confused, why their previously fearless leader was turning tail and running for his life.

In that moment, four shots were fired, Dropping The rest of Raymond's men, either fatal shots or enough to make sure they won't be getting up for a while.

After that, Rex begins hauling ass, after Raymond, who has gotten on a horse and is trying to flee the city running back Rex quickly mounts on his horse Davis and gives chase quickly catching up to Raymond's horse riding out far from the town further into the west deserts the hot Sun Blaring down over Rex's wounds Yet his determination to uncover the truth and bring him to justice is unwavering Rex will catch the son of a bitch.

Chapter 2: long hunts and Unexpected new friends

Rex Wulf now riding his horse Davis in pursuit of Raymond it was his only lead at the moment and the leader of the black hats with any luck if rex is able to catch him in time, he'll be able to put an end to the black hats gang, as well as get some very needed. Information about the Weapons trafficking group or whatever it is that are supplying these new changes in the west dangerous weapons, disappearances, theft, arson, murders, All linking to this one group and this man, shortly in front of rex, has some answers. He is not going to get away rex has already been hunting him for over an hour at a slower pace, though, because he knows Raymond's horse will tire quicker. After he chases Raymond down for miles Both horses began to slow down but Raymond's horse is slowing faster Noticing this, Rex Reloads his guns and we can shoot to the side of his horse, scaring it enough to wear it gallops in a different direction.

Rex follows shortly behind. We travel over water and enter rough desert terrain which is never really good for horses they could end up injuring their feet, rex however, has taken very good care of his horse And taught it well how to Go through terrain.

Eventually, his advantage in this desert terrain works well as he's now right next to Raymond attempting to wrestle him off the horse,

But Raymond is cunning as he presses on rex is wounded shoulder making Rex temporarily fall off his horse.

Although rex's ankle is still tied on To his saddle, he's dangling off to the side getting dragged eventually, his horses forced to stop.

Rex quickly mounts again begins writing after Raymond again. This time there's a pretty big difference between their distance. He notices Raymond steering his horse out further in the desert wrecks soon realizes Raymond is heading towards train tracks planning on ditching his horse and hitching a ride on the train.

Rex calls out to his horse: Make haste Davis yah! His horse begins galloping faster maneuvering through all the sharp jagged rocks and rough terrain with elegant Ease.

As he slowly catches up to Raymond. But it's a second too late as Raymond jumps from his horse into the coal cart of the train my horse now unable to follow the speed of a train I am not so limited though. Towards the more back of the train rex was able to leap off his horse. Just like Raymond did beginning to climb the side, railings of the carts leaping from one to another until they finally gets into the coal cart. Alongside Raymond, who tries to shoot at him.

But misses and sets a fuel tanker on fire behind them.

Now with minimal time instead of going for his guns rex jumps at Raymond going for fisticuffs instead which Raymond gladly accepts putting his own fists up while Raymond's style is wilder.

Laying out hey maker After hay maker As he aims for rex's wounded spots from the earlier confrontation.

However it doesn't take long for Rex to overcome this, Getting underneath Raymond rex drives him up against a train door Breaking glass into the back of Raymond his enemy Wailing in pain And momentarily distracted rex quickly take advantage Driving Raymond inside one of the train cars.

Wrestling him to the ground Rex begins laying into him hard left and right punches once finally knocks Raymond over, he gets in top of him punching over and over until he knocks Raymond out Rex's face covered in blood of his enemy scaring some passengers causing them to think he's the monster and start throwing small objects at him,

Which have no outside effect but internally it's messing with rex's mind they're calling him a monster for doing his job.

After that People still looking at him with horrified expressions as he lifts Raymond's limp body over his back while precariously perched on the rails of the train he eventually is able to climb into one of the passenger carts where he lays out Raymond off of his shoulder, using some rope from nearby passengers to Bind his hands It's at this moment most people see his badge and begin to understand he is a sheriff However, still very much mistrusting of him. As the cart behind us explodes due to the bullet holes and all that oil spreading fire throughout the end of the train. Rex even though tired exhausted and injured

Stands back up walking through the crowd of people who think he's a monster.

And he begins saving passengers on the end of the train.

One by one, the passengers begin to

Witness is more heroic deed rather than being a relentless hunter, that they thought he was needing to act quickly to save the passengers on the train.

Rex jumps onto the burning train car his hands burning and blistering as he is forced to climb across the scorched rails. He climbs to the very back of the caboose of the train carrying multiple engineers and coal workers to the safer end of the train, one by one, going back and forth through fire and hot metal until the last person is safe.

At this point, his body is burnt.

Tired injured right when he thinks he has the last passenger. He hears a woman in one of the end, cabooses crying out for help every instinct in his body is telling him to

Let this one go. But that's what his father would do, not what he would do pull himself back up. He heads back through the flames and smoke which have gotten hotter he checks every car until finally finding the woman in a white church uniform rex then calls out, can you hear me if you can? Please grab my hand I'll take you to safety.

The woman looks at him with fear in her Eyes but she eventually reaches and grabs his hand

He then carries her in his arms through all the fire while it scorches his back, he protects her the entire way to the safe part of the train where it looks like the fire's just about to leak to the next car full of passengers. However rex thinking ahead he sets the woman down gently and grabs one of the engineerscoal shovels and smashes the connector connecting the back of the train. Successfully saving the train and its passengers, while rest of the burning end of the train gets left behind. After checking on every last one of the passengers making sure they're all safe and alive he falls over passing out in the train car as the final woman he saved earlier stops his head from hitting the ground And cradles him closely the entire train ride.

With her whispering in a soft voice.

Thank you for saving us, sheriff. You can rest easy now.

Page 6

Five days done gone by before he Woke up in a very unfamiliar place.

At The slightest noise. In a moment's noticed, he's already whipped out His gun only to see a strange church maiden tending to his bedside rightfully scared Of the man who just pointed a gun in her face.

Rex says very confused: where… when… I.. Sorry miss. He lowers the gun to his side. Rex: You startled me is all it's okay, I don't harm no men or women of the cloth.. now who might you be miss? And would you be so kind to telling me exactly where I am and how long I've been out. And perhaps where the individual wearing that black hat is?

Once the gun is lowered the church maiden immediately relaxed.

She this says in a warm and welcoming tone With the hint of an Irish accent: Welcome to railroad springs My name is Evelyn Sunshire proud maiden of the cloth.

After you saved us on the train I personally volunteered to take care of you until you awakened it's been nearly five days since you've been out I was really starting to worry but I'm glad you're awake now.

The situation stuns and stresses out rex all because he passed out on that train, he's now almost 600 miles away from home in a town. He doesn't know

And the one person he was hunting is nowhere to be seen All these thoughts rushing through his head as rex begins to fidget in the bed. As he stands up still shirtless and bandaged from his wounds and burns, he rushes outside falling over a couple times on the way bumping into tables and brooms to see basically for the first time green, a lot of green.. nice houses, almost paved roads, smell isn't even so dirty and unclean.

Everywhere he looks, people are dressed nice instead of just dressing nice on occasions like the people of his old town used to dress only occasionally, or when they're having special drinks here, they just dress casually nice even the sky in the air, the sky rather than sweltering heat, there's a smooth cool breeze. The blue sky is a lot more visible here due to their not being as much dust in the air.

Everything looks so nearly pristine from his standing for a moment, you almost wonders if he died on the train. But that thought quickly fades as he feels a warm hand against his back. Not harsh but warm and welcoming. As the church maiden from before places her small hand against his back in a comforting way.

Evelyn says calmly with gentleness to her tone, It's probably a lot different than you're used to. But rest assured will take care of you here until you're all healed up until then. I hope you can trust your care to me Sheriff after all, you did save me. When nobody else came back for me on that train accident, even when everybody else viewed you as a monster,

She reaches up and softly places. Her hand against rex's wolf scar on his face.

You're a hero to a lot of people up here, not because of your legend or how good of a sheriff, you are. It's because You're a good man and we would be honored to have you as our guest for the time being.

He looks back up at her gentle smile thinking,

How Could someone like her exist someone who's so naturally kind and warm hearted,

Even though he put a gun in her face earlier she shows no sign of fear of him. Everywhere, back at home he always got looks And people who thought he was dangerous. People feared him even by name, but not her not this Evelyn Sunshire. For the first time in a while he gave a small smile and took her hand as she led him back inside the church Healing center room.

Page 7

Once Rex is lead inside again inside again he get spot over to table with a window Evelyn disappears for a bit and brings back some breakfast,

She made who sits across from him? The breakfast is a simple eggs.

Bacon and toast but, Rex had never seen them so colorful or scrambled Like this.

Rex finally breaks the silence:

Thank you miss Sunshire um this town's pretty nice. Does everybody in the north live like this? And oh let me pay you for this too.

Evelyn chuckles softly and says: please you owe us nothing. This is on us. A show of appreciation and you speak of this place as if it was some Grand town, You are very welcome here sheriff you don't need to be so modest around us, after all you did save many of our town folk on that dangerous train accident She chuckles kindly.

This town is actually one of the most modest towns in northern Colorado it' that's called Railway springs.

But I think the best thing we have here is the rich natural resources around. We have lot of access to clean water rich and natural land for farming and most importantly community, Thanks to the railway going through we have a lot of

Travelers coming through our town has access to more travel than most other towns thanks to our railway station on the edge of town.

Rex spoke with accepting and curiosity: I see.. and what about Raymond, the man in the black hat I was pursuing what happened to him

Evelyn replied: Oh, him He's all tucked away in our county jail. After all that damage he did to do our train.

Rex says: good, I thought for a moment. I had lost him.. and uh allow me to apologize on his behalf. For that train incident, maybe if I wasn't pursuing him so tightly. He wouldn't have thought to put you all in danger. Just to avoid me.. he is a pretty big part of what I've been hunting I'm glad he's still around. I have a lot of questions that needs to answering After that, I need to find a way to get back home.

I can't be around here too much longer because I may start not wanting to leave.

The scenery.. The people. He looks across at Evelyn as she eats a spoonful of scrambled eggs very delicately He's used to the women of his town wolfing down their meals as if it were an eating contest.

Evelyn pauses mid bite: Oh you're planning on leaving I see.. I was hoping you'd stay for a while At least. You see our town it may look all glamorous from the outside But… she recently due to our success in the town with crops and funds, we've been receiving a lot of dangerous folk and rough people around,

Especially since it's so close to the railway bad people can steal and get away pretty easily.

Our town department, our last local sheriff he went pretty ill recently and has never really gotten back to his old self is probably about to retire. And I don't know, something's feels off about the newer and younger deputies, they never really have the people's best interest in mind dreaming This is more of a job than a duty soon. So I thought, since maybe you're here, maybe you could keep an eye on things around here until you're your investigation is done. If that wouldn't be so much to ask?

Rex pauses then finally says it's the least I can do… Since you guys have shown me such nice hospitality, I'll do just that.

I'll keep an eye on things around here.

Make sure the piece is kept until my investigation is over, Then I am afraid I must return home, but in the meantime I'd appreciate it. If a certain young lady could show me around this place? Uh What do they call it out here a grand tour or something?

He chuckles. So do we have a deal? You show me around and host me for a couple weeks. In return I look after the town until my jobs done here?

Evelyn smiles brightly with a slight blush. Yes, yes, yes, of course. Welcome to railway springs Rex wulf.

Rex says with a smile it's actually ohh, you got it right on the first time huh well,

Im at your service miss Sunshire. I look forward to getting to know you better.

They both share a rather peaceful moment. Simply chatting about their differences where they lived, few facts about the towns growing a bit closer, the atmosphere between them no tension remaining just chatting like new friends with high possibility of something more between them. The scene shifts to them sitting on a the porch outside watching the sunrise as they spoke and got to know each other.

Rex begin speaking to her, wow, so your father was a soldier, and your mother was a cattle Wrangler that's quite a family you have there.

Evelyn responds, yes but it's just me and my mom right now my father never made it back from the Civil War we received his remains about years after his death in the war, but the people who delivered him back to us. Told us He saved over 23 lives before he died they called him a hero during his time. Even though my father was gone, my mother's still stuck to his love and never married another. I'm proud of her.

Rex replies attempting to comfort.

Sorry to hear that about your pa.

He sounds like a really good man I'm sure you gave the enemy hell before he took his final breath. And your ma, she sounds like a tough woman people I care will pull through with their head Held high.

Your family's very different from mine much like youI lost my mother at a young age and after that, my father.. Let's just say the west finally broke him he went off the deep end. And I've never really told anybody this story. But in this small time, he was a part of my life. Still the final night I saw him. He ended up so messed up in the head that he dumped a pot of boiling water on my face. That's where this scar came from and my final words to him were, I hate him, I never even got the chance to forgiven, because after that day, he disappeared, he left a note. And I never saw him again after that. Now I try every day

To be like the good man, my father used to be to be better than what he became. But this reputation of mine I have. Let's just say it's hard to be the good guy I always wanted to be.

He looks back to see Evelyn in Tears and he immediately begins apologizing to her hoping he didn't make her cry she just responds with a soft smile. As the golden light of the sunrise rests upon her face, she says. Some couple we are huh ha ha ha

Page 8

After they finished watching the sunrise rex headed to his room to get dressed. He sees his normal outfit laying on the bed. Cleaned very well, All nice and proper he checks out where the bullet wounds were and they've all been nearly expertly sewn together she must have spent a long time fixing his clothing, even his hat which has been worn out for years. Looks nearly brand new thanks to her sewing skills

He decides to bathe himself with surprisingly clean water he chuckled himself reminding himself that this wasn't the same town he was from and places like this actually had clean water. Unlike his old town. After that, he looks at his rough and disheveled appearance in the waters reflection he realizes even though he looks so horrendous and monstrous, Evelyn still saw him as a good man. So he heads back out getting a knife and decides to cut his rugged beard down 2 more cleaned up look and

He decides to clean up his messy hair too, leaving it still long .But he brushed it back rather than having an old messy entangled, this was for her after all, and he wanted to look his best. Beside her.

After getting dressed making sure everything's in place his shirt gently rests against his bandaged body full of old wounds and burns his hat rest gently on his messy hair, gun, spare bullets, everything he had before was right where it was supposed to be.

After that he heads out of his room noticing Evelyn with a smile waiting for him peacefully by the front door she is wearing a long white and blue flowered Dress With a yellow and white sun hat and that perfect golden-brown hair and that smile of hers looked just as perfect as a red desert sunset.

She says With a bit of surprise and warmth in her voice. So that's the man under all the ruggedness.

You look very handsome Rex but as I said before you don't need to change who you are around me. I prefer you for who you truly are.

Now, shall we begin with the tour? I have lots of places to show you.

After that Evelyn Eagerly began showing him around

The town bringing him to the wide farmlands full of lush greens., the railway, many green trees and forest trails. Many things he's never even seen before because he's lived his whole life

In the rough desert of Utah.

All along the way, she's laughing and chuckling peacefully His lack of knowledge of much else outside of the desert. She took him along the stream of clean water Stopping at a wide-open pond out of everything He's seen so far clear water of this pond is what amazed him the most.

They both. Sat gently upon the rocky Shores of this wide pond that connects to a river.

Rex Speaking profoundly: All my life and I've never seen something quite like these places you brought me today. Most people back home wouldn't believe it If they saw it heck, I'm struggling too part of me thinks I already passed on that train and I'm in heaven with one of its most beautiful angel's.

Evelyn blushing profusely: You have quite a way with words their Sheriff handsome.

She chuckles slightly at her attempt at flirting her tone turns more genuine. Whether it was by god's will or pure coincidence, you're here. I'm very glad to have met you Rex I'm very grateful You made all that promise to stay for a while. I'm afraid I'd already been missing you too much. If you would have left by now you know, there was a moment on that train incident, where I thought I was going to die. Nobody came Rap for me and

It was fire and smoke around. But then I found you. I saw you running through all the flame and smoke.

As if you were guardian, angel sent from the heavens above only for me in that moment I didn't see you as a monster. I saw you as so much more

You've saved my life rex And I will always love you for that.

After that Rex goes a bit quiet, even in his own old town. Nobody ever really thanked him this much

Even though he's barely done anything for the town sitting there along with Evelyn he doesn't want to leave this moment as she reaches over her soft hand on his rough face brushing some of his long messy hair out of his face the moment, they truly lock eyes is the most passionate moment in the world for Rex.

I love you to Evelyn you brought light into my dark world I don't think I could ever live.

In a world where you're not a part of it Anymore. You're the light, I've always needed and so much more to me given the choice, I would always choose to meet you to hold you, He leans over Placing his hand onto Evelyn's shoulder her body letting him take the wheel as they slowly lay down together on the smooth rocks of the shore, he knows he shouldn't be getting this attached. But this woman has done so much for him in such little time. He doesn't want to let someone as great as go. However before he could act upon his desires, she has already pulled him in for a kiss that feels like it lasts a lifetime Her lips just like red cherries glide softly against his rough beard as The long kiss rex embrace her closer his hands now underneath her dress.

Caressing her smooth back as he slowly unties her dress as it slowly falls off her body, she begins unbuttoning his shirt after his shirt is fully off, she swell me runs her hands over his strong chest.

Slowly but surely she reaches up removing his hat, placing it next to them as she gets on top of him, they embrace once more with a deep loving kiss as they embraced and loved each other in a night full of romance and passion.

Chapter 3, More Mysteries

In the morning Evelyn awakens covered in a warm blanket on the grassy hill of the pond, she is awoken by the smell of campfire and some cooking sausages.

After getting her bearings from the passionate night last night.

She gets on her clothes from the other day and goes to investigate the smell of campfire and cooking meat to see Rex who is making her a couple of campfire roasted ham stakes from a wild pig, he hunted that morning she smiles gently sitting down next to him. Both reminiscing in silence of the passionate and loving night yesterday evening she's slowly leaning her head over onto his shoulder.

Rex slightly leans his head against hers As rex responds. Good morning love, Did you sleep well.

After eating the nice breakfast Rex prepared, even though it was a bit under seasoned it's clear Rex hadn't used much seasoning in his life. When cooking before makes sense, he was kind of raised in the desert without much in the way of seasoning but still Evelyn ate every bite of it.

After they finished up breakfast the two of them walk back into town both holding hands arrived back at the church she lives and works at, after that, they part ways temporarily, he goes down to the local authority's department.

Introduces himself to the sheriff of the town who recognizes him straight away

A mysterious gruff voice greets him it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance sheriff wolf even out here, we've heard a lot about you and how good of a sheriff you are, Oh Where are my manners I am the Marshal of these parts Marshall Hunter Norse. Allow me to welcome you to our local department these are my officers frank Zack and Jamie.

Rex says with respect: well, it's good to meet you guys. Heard a lot of good things about the force here, I probably don't even need to introduce myself. Then, considering you guys already know of me.

But just to be polite, I'm Rex. Rex Wulf a temporary guest in this town of yours. I was hoping I could speak to a prisoner. You guys have in custody. He goes by the name of Raymond black?

The officers face turn grim as frank reports:

While he was completely healthy up Until the other night Zack found his cell door wide open with him dead in his cell. Earlier this morning, a gunshot wound in his skull. Murdered in his jail cell. Rex's face drops in a cold sweat. That was his only lead. He really needed to question him alive. But now that he's dead and buried, he has no leads to go on.

Rex Says his tone turning more serious: I see, Well I'm more than willing to assist you guys. In discovering. Who was the one who killed him? Do you have any clues or any possible suspects that it might be. He pulls the marshal aside for a minute.

It would also be wise to look up a timetable on when he was killed. Because the most important piece of evidence was his cell door was opened when he was murdered, I'm not mistaken. Those cell doors are tight locked under keys only guards have.

My advice Marshall keep a good eye around you. Especially with your officers who all have unaccounted for alibis, we may be looking at internal corruption.

Keep your eyes and ears on the lookout Marshall, you and I could very well be next.

Rex then leaves the department heading back to the church to spend another night with Evelyn he sits down and has a lovely dinner with her while still contemplating. What happened at the prison the only way he woke up from his concentration was when evelyn kissed him on the cheek, which brightened up his mood immediately He kissed her back, yet still his head pounding with probabilities of who it was that killed his lead man on his ongoing investigation and how they could have known. He was all the way out here deep down though he already knows who killed his lead suspect. He plans to bring them to justice tomorrow.

Page 11

With all the knowledge of the night before Rex gets to work. Investigating the potential culprits of who killed his lead suspect in his big investigation you remember there's only two potential guards with keys,

Officers Zack and frank But that implies they had their keys the entire time he requests some alone time at the cell In which all the officers give him a glance but then respect his wishes he investigates everything from top to bottom the slight scraping of the cell door on the floor everything.

Absolutely nothing stood out, Whoever did this they were very thorough with the clean up process They hid their tracks very But with one single piece of evidence I was able to bring it all together it's the one thing very significant they missed In their cover-up, the way he was killed was in his sleep. He was killed with a gun, but the bullet was never found until now. With everything together, he heads out to meet the Officers walking past, both Frank Zach and Jamie, pulling out one of his guns, he put it to the face of the Marshall.

Rex speaks his voice full of authority with no hint of backing down:

Marshall hunter Norse! I am placing you under arrest for the crimes you have committed as well as the framing of your fellow officers. How I came to this conclusion You're the only one With a different type of gun than the rest of your Officers because that gun is an older kind, but it is still significant to you because it was given to you by your best friend, the mayor of this town, before he was unfairly murdered by the black hats a long time ago. It makes sense why you would want revenge, but in your need for revenge, you aligned yourself with potentially an even more dangerous group, that organization. I was after. This suspect was very important to my case; by killing him you have sabotaged all knowledge he could have Possessed,

Oh you even used the keys of one of your own guards attempt frame them for your own evil if you answer my questions, I'll make sure you only get jail time if you don't, I'm afraid we're going to have to take this outside.

The finale.

The Marshall takes a long drag of his cigar still calm: Sounds like you have everything figured out sheriff wolf no wonder they said you're the best sheriff in the West I fully admit to everything you just accused I am the killer and proud to be it. Now, about your questions, I will only answer them if you accept my challenge for a duel with iron are we agreed sheriff?

Rex His voice full of resignation and acceptance of what's about to happen:

If you're sure there's no way we can handle this more peacefully then I agree, may the better man still stand after the gun smoke fades.

Dimmed and flashed white and dark as clouds rolled overhead sheriff And the Marshalls stand across from each other the town full of witnesses watch tense. Rex looks to the side seeing Evelyn and her concerned face it's a widely known fact in this town that the Marshall has never lost a duel most think Rex is rex is not be an Exception In fact many of the towns folk are still on their heroes side the Marshall has done a lot for them over his years they've all gone and grown to respect them as deservedly so he was a good cop for him he was a good man for a lot of years Rex only regrets this is the only version he's met of the Marshall.

The Marshall calls out his terms and the terms of the dual: Here's how this works Sheriff if I shoot you dead then I walk away free of charge, and if you shoot me I'll tell you everything you want to know.

Rex: I agree.

The area stands absolutely still as the two square off from each other the cold stare of the Marshall unsettling to anybody with eyes however sheriff Rex remains calm in the eyes of this danger,

Evelyn unwillingly steps forward to call the time on the shots She begins to say With a trembling voice.

Evelyn: Um The terms have been agreed upon both men ready your irons.

Rex slowly pushes back his overcoat his trusty Smith & Wesson revolver firmly on His side, as Marshall does the same with his colt Peacemaker.

Slowly Evelyn begins to countdown a tear runs down her cheek. Not wanting either of them to die. 5 4 3 2 1 fire. Shots can now be heard from miles out and then silence both have shot both were hit while Rex got shot his shoulder his bullet landed unintentionally into the Marshalls collarbone near his neck with his injured shoulder Rick stands up walking over to his fallen opponent instead of with a cold look it's with compassion has.

Rex places a hand on his chest and says: May God free you of your need for vengeance on this day brother, please tell me who's behind all this so that no more innocent people can get hurt. The Marshall just stares up at him Then closes his eyes as he answers in confidence he then speaks. The man your after it's a suicide mission boy. The leader of that group is a man of focus smart and dangerous and you'll need every stroke of luck you have left to deal with them Rex… His name is David Wulf…

The Marshall then passes Away Leaving stunned silence all around including Rex. As the scene fades to black the scene fades to black the Sound that can be heard is in a confused tone.

… Dad?

The end of Part 1.

For the revision, I took a lot of the suggestions from others to make it a bit. Edgier and give it a darker theme. I changed a lot of backstory with the main character that I didn't have. Originally most of the stuff with his dad and giving him that cool

Wolf scar over his eye. I thought that added a nice edgy touch to his character. Making him look more monstrous to these outlaws I also added a very kind of traumatic back story for him the way his father went off the deep end because his mother died and made him shoot people kind of explains why he's a bit rough throughout the story he did not have a good upbringing and he later reveals this to Evelyn of deepening their bond with him telling her some of his inner demons I thought that would add a lot more deeper connection between the two and I added a whole bunch about his mother how he used to be happy and how his father used to be a noble sheriff before he went off the deep end I still left it kind of up to speculation if his father was alive or not until the end to give it that mystery especially on the train scene I spent a lot of time changing that especially with kind of some of the people he was saving calling him a monster, even the people who's trying to save start throwing things at him at times because they think he is not human. I made a lot of changes to

The Evelyn's character to she now has a bit of backstory to with her father being a civil war Hero and her mother being a cattle Wrangler it just gave her more character depth, and I improved the. Relationship between Evelyn and Rex immensely, because he didn't just wake up to find Her anymore. He actually saved her on the train that would lead on later to her believing. He was The Guardian angel sent to protect her when nobody else would

While she kept being the light in his life, he was the guardian she fell for and unlike in the original story, I actually have them professing their love for each other.

Because I felt that it needed a bigger theme to the love.

I am very proud of the. Revision, I have done a lot of good work on it However, there are a few scenes that I have decided to leave in Just because I like it from the original That's just kind of how I kind of went about it I'm mostly just kind of edited the original and left in the stuff that I liked and took out the stuff. I didn't and used the suggestions from the class to upgrade the story to I will say a very well thought out and good story, let me know. If there's any other thing, you would add to the revision. If I've done good or bad, you can email me wherever. If you have any questions or any comments, please tell me it would help a lot to hear from you
