Lucien snapped out of his thoughts as he quickly slipped his phone into his pocket and walked over, putting on his best polite smile.
"Lucien," Darius called his name again, gesturing to him, "this is Ethan Marlowe, our new transfer student. You'll be helping him get around for the week."
Lucien offered a handshake. "Lucien Vale," he said. "Third-year."
Ethan smiled faintly, shaking his hand. "Ethan. And sorry for the trouble... I'll try not to be a burden."
'You are a burden already,' Lucien thought aloud in his head but didn't show it on his face.
He only laughed lightly, the kind of laugh that didn't reach his eyes. "No problem at all. I'm used to taking care of newcomers."
Darius cut in, his tone official again.
"The security team will take your luggage to your dorm, Mr Marlowe."
Ethan nodded and turned slightly. "Please be careful," he said quickly. "My art tools are in there."
