Chapter 84 - Imprisoned in Impel Down

The next morning, Luo Chen was led out of the prison by the Marines.

He arrived at a plaza and received his sentence.

Fleet Admiral Sengoku, the three Marine Admirals, Hero Garp, and Vice Admiral Tsuru were all present.

Marines like Smoker and Hina were lined up nearby, watching.

On the very perimeter were reporters from various newspapers.

On the high platform at the front, Sengoku's voice was cold, stern, and grand: "Criminal Luo Chen, as a former Marine Lieutenant Commander, you knowingly broke the law, colluded with pirates, and slaughtered civilians.

"After your crimes were exposed, you resisted arrest with force, harmed numerous Marines, and destroyed a Marine base.

"You murdered a Celestial Dragon and stole the Heavenly Tribute.

"Your numerous crimes are too many to list.

"Your sins are heinous. You are sentenced to death, to be carried out in three months!"

"For these three months, you will reflect and repent in Impel Down," Sengoku looked down from his high position.

Luo Chen stood below, his hands and feet bound by Sea-Prism Stone shackles. He gave a sarcastic smile:

"Sengoku, Genzo has already spoken very clearly about the East Blue incident.

"As the Fleet Admiral of the Marines, you still frame and slander me even after knowing the truth. It's laughable.

"The day will come when the truth is revealed. When that day arrives, I'd like to see just how notorious you, the Fleet Admiral of the Marines, will be."

These words seemed to strike a nerve with Sengoku.

He roared in anger, "Nonsense! Take him away!"

"Stubborn and unrepentant! You are beyond saving!" Sengoku reprimanded coldly, then turned and left.

The trial thus came to an end.

The Marines and reporters dispersed one after another.

Garp looked at Sengoku with suspicion.

He then looked at Tsuru, who was also clearly in an unusual mood. His eyes revealed a trace of solemnity.

Luo Chen had repeatedly brought up the East Blue incident.

And Sengoku's and Tsuru's handling of Luo Chen's case was extremely abnormal.

This made Garp suspicious.

'No... I must be overthinking it.' Garp denied it in his heart, shook his head, and left.

He still trusted his old friend Sengoku.

...

At noon, Luo Chen was escorted onto a warship, preparing to be transferred to Impel Down.

The person responsible for this trip was Vice Admiral Onigumo.

He came alone to the brig on the ship and dismissed the guarding Marines.

"Yo, who are you? Why is your face wrapped in so much gauze?"

Sensing someone approaching, Luo Chen awoke from the [Body Technique Training Space].

He opened his eyes and saw a mummy-like man in front of him.

The man's gray suit had two empty sleeves.

His head was wrapped in bandages from his neck to the top, revealing only his nostrils and two eyes filled with venomous hatred.

This appearance really gave Luo Chen a shock at first.

But he quickly recognized him. It must be Onigumo, whose arms he had crippled and whose face he had skinned.

"Luo Chen!"

A hoarse voice, full of hatred and killing intent, came from behind Onigumo's bandaged mouth.

His long hair danced wildly, slamming against the cell bars like a palm as he stared deadly at Luo Chen.

"Seeing you here really makes me happy," Onigumo's voice was hoarse, as grating as a sharp object scraping a blackboard.

Luo Chen smiled. "Onigumo, were your vocal cords also injured in the last battle? It's making my hair stand on end."

Onigumo's killing intent became more obvious, his eyes faintly glowing red. "I was injured. I've become this thing that's neither human nor ghost."

"But what about you? You've become a prisoner, and you're about to die!" The bandages on his mouth twitched, as if he were smiling.

"You didn't kill me in time in Alabasta, and you didn't escape the pursuit of the Marine Admirals. I'd like to ask, do you regret it?"

Luo Chen sneered, closing his eyes and ignoring him.

'Regret?'

'Wasn't that what he had asked Onigumo and Sengoku back in East Blue?'

He didn't expect the man to still remember.

Right now, Onigumo and Sengoku probably had no regrets; they were likely immersed in joy.

Onigumo mocked, "Daring to resist the Marines, to make an enemy of the Marines... you truly don't know your own limits. It would have been much better if you hadn't resisted me back then and just obediently let yourself be killed."

"I've killed pirates my whole life. Taking a little money and framing you with it, that was me thinking highly of you."

"Without me, you damn civilians would have died at the hands of pirates long ago!"

Luo Chen couldn't help but laugh out loud at these words. He opened his eyes and said, "You're really insane. Listen to yourself. Are those the words of a human being?"

Onigumo kicked the cell bars, roaring, "Am I not speaking the truth?!

"I've killed pirates my whole life, so what if I'm a little greedy for money?!

"Why did you have to come and make trouble?! Damn you! You deserve to die!"

Luo Chen waved his hand as if shooing a fly. "Scram. Don't bother me."

Onigumo gave a cold, savage smile. "In three months, on the execution platform, we will meet again.

"Luo Chen, I will personally watch the look of remorse on your face before you die."

A sarcastic look appeared on Luo Chen's face.

'Three months?'

It wouldn't even be three months. Soon, he would see the wonderful expressions on Onigumo's and Sengoku's faces.

The Summit War was about to happen.

Once the great war began, he would break out of prison and lead people to kill their way to Marine Headquarters.

Onigumo, Tsuru, and Sengoku were all Luo Chen's targets.

All three of them knew about the East Blue incident.

As long as one of them spoke up, the truth would be revealed to the world.

And the Summit War would be broadcast live to the entire world.

...

Impel Down, the world's number one prison, located in the Calm Belt.

The main prison building was underwater, with seven levels: one above sea level and six below.

The deeper the level, the more terrifying the prisoners held there.

The warship passed through the massive Gates of Justice, then through the main gates of Impel Down, which were guarded by dozens of warships, before slowly docking at the shore.

Luo Chen was escorted by Onigumo into Impel Down.

Warden Magellan, Vice-Warden Hannyabal, and Vice-Chief Guard Domino had been waiting on the first level for a long time.

"Vice Admiral Onigumo, welcome to my Impel Down," Vice-Warden Hannyabal said with a smile.

He looked like a combination of an oni and a pharaoh, shirtless, with a belly swollen like an oni's, wearing demon-like wings, and holding an iron trident.

Warden Magellan's appearance was equally terrifying, resembling Satan, the lord of hell. He was five meters tall, with two giant black horns on his head, and wore a long, all-black leather coat, with black wings on his back.

He suddenly lowered his head and exhaled a puff of purple gas at Hannyabal.

Hannyabal let out a wretched scream and immediately fell to the ground, foaming at the mouth.

Magellan smiled. "It's my Impel Down. You're just the Vice-Warden."

Vice-Chief Guard Domino helplessly called for the guards to come and feed Hannyabal an antidote.

Domino was a slender, blonde woman, wearing pink sunglasses and a light-yellow uniform.

She smiled apologetically at Onigumo. "Sorry to make a fool of ourselves."

With that, Domino's gaze turned to Luo Chen.

"Is this the prisoner this time? I heard he's so strong he needs to be imprisoned on Level 6, Eternal Hell."

A trace of curiosity flickered in Domino's eyes.

There had been quite a few high-profile criminals recently.

"Fire Fist" Ace of the Whitebeard Pirates.

The Warlord "Knight of the Sea" Jinbe.

Both were imprisoned on Level 6, Eternal Hell.

What crime had Luo Chen committed to also be imprisoned on Level 6?

The Marines had only said that a major criminal was to be locked up on Level 6, but they hadn't specified the crime.
