Luca looked down at himself. Then up at her.
A look of profound realization spread across his face.
Because she was right! Even sitting, front legs folded, hindquarters settled on the ground, Sigrid's torso still carried her head a full head above his waist, and there was a considerable gap between her lips and where he was standing.
She couldn't kneel; her body didn't work that way. And she certainly couldn't fold herself in half like an elf.
"...Huh." He scratched the back of his head. "That's, uh. That's a new one. I don't usually have this problem."
The words were out before he could think about them, and the moment they registered, he knew he'd made a mistake.
"I'm sorry." She said quietly. "I didn't mean to make things difficult by being...like this. I've always been tall, you see. Even as a child my mother used to say I would grow up to be the largest centaur in the village, and it seems she was right."
