In her mind, Leona had already imagined how Luca would react next.
He would probably be thrilled—ecstatic, even.
His eyes would light up with excitement.
He might even jump up and down like a child receiving the greatest gift imaginable.
After all, that's how she would react if someone offered her such a treasure.
But to her surprise Luca didn't jump.
He didn't cheer.
He didn't look excited at all.
Instead, he stared at her with an expression of complete bewilderment.
His eyes narrowed slightly, his brow furrowed, and for a moment, he simply looked at her like she had just sprouted flowers from her ears.
Then something shifted.
A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
