Chapter 8 - Ch.8

"Kirisu-sensei!" Hayakawa Haku's face turned pale upon hearing the thunderbolt of news. He stood up abruptly and said, "That's way too tight on time! You know their grades. It's simply impossible to get them to pass by the next monthly exam!"

"Excuses." Kirisu Mafuyu, the tall, cold beauty with hip-length wine-red hair, who enjoyed immense popularity and was idolized by a large group of M-students (masochistic students) for her ice-queen demeanor, spoke with chilling finality. "That is your problem. If you can't reach that level, why be a tutor? We entrusted these two students to you because we believe in you. If there is no positive feedback in their grades, the principal and I cannot confidently let you continue."

"..." Hayakawa Haku was speechless.

"If there's nothing else, you may leave." Kirisu Mafuyu organized the files in her hands and dismissed Hayakawa Haku mercilessly, then ignored him.

"Yes." Hayakawa Haku silently left the office.

Despair and Denial

Bastard woman, bastard woman, bastard woman...

Hayakawa Haku went to a tree outside the school building and leaned against it weakly.

That woman has taught those two before! Doesn't she know how stupid and incompetent they are outside their area of talent?!Damn it! How dare she make such high demands when she couldn't even do it herself?

"Ah..." Hayakawa Haku let out a miserable groan, covering his eyes with his hand. He felt the sunlight was blinding, the world was so cruel, and everything was painful.

What do I do? I only have two weeks... Isn't this the end? At the current rate, getting those two to a passing level is absolutely impossible.

The thought of losing his tutor status, the two girls giving up, and then returning to their own subjects to completely dominate and crush him made Hayakawa Haku's hands tremble uncontrollably.

I don't want to be abused!! I want to die...

Hayakawa Haku raised a fist, intending to punch the tree hard, but ultimately lowered it.

Maybe I should just transfer schools.

But wouldn't that be deserting the battle?!

"Ugh..." Hayakawa Haku mentally cursed his own weakness, yet couldn't restrain the urge to flee.

Just as he hesitated, there was a sudden disturbance nearby.

"I like you!" A boy's voice suddenly rang out. "Please go out with me!"

Nani? Impure relationship?! Hayakawa Haku's already-shattered composure instantly exploded. His face contorted as he looked in that direction. "Where?! I'll kill those two!"

However, when Hayakawa Haku saw the two people, he froze.

That blue-haired girl with the white ribbon... Who could it be but Furuhashi?

"Ah?" Hayakawa Haku's eyes immediately became utterly hollow and dark.

I'm over here 'worrying' about your studies, and you're over there having an impure relationship?!

How dare you try to disgrace me! You've got some nerve~

A faint, bizarre, and terrifying spirit seemed to drift out from Hayakawa Haku's body. A supernatural murder was about to occur.

"I'm sorry, I'm more focused on my studies right now, and I have no intention of dating," Furuhashi Fumino bowed slightly and said seriously and firmly. "So, Tanaka-kun, please give up. You'll find someone better."

Oh-ho-ho~ What a good girl!

The dark aura around Hayakawa Haku instantly vanished, and his gaze toward Furuhashi Fumino became as gentle as an angel's.

This is my good student—one who focuses on her studies~ We'll be good friends forever~

"Is that so..." The decent-looking boy gave a dry laugh and scratched his head, forcing a shameless smile. "In other words, I still have a chance, right?"

"Eh?" Furuhashi Fumino was stunned. "No, what I meant was..."

"That's good enough," the boy ran off immediately, adding, "I won't give up! I'll come back and confess again in a few days."

"Eh..." Furuhashi Fumino looked helpless. "Please don't..."

"Fumino-chan!" Two girls who had been hiding a distance away quickly flanked Furuhashi Fumino, their voices excited. "You rejected Tanaka-kun again?"

"Yes," Furuhashi Fumino said awkwardly. "After all, I'm focused on my studies right now."

"That's a bit of a shame," one girl said dreamily. "Tanaka-kun is pretty good-looking, and he's quite popular."

"I agree," the other girl advised. "It wouldn't hurt to try going out with him a little."

Furuhashi Fumino shook her head. "Don't joke around. Let's head back."

The three talked as they walked away. Hayakawa Haku, listening from his hiding spot, frowned at their words.

A source of instability.

The Hentai's Justification

How can a student be dating? It's simply preposterous. Focusing on studies like this is the only righteous path!

Hayakawa Haku was walking through the central courtyard, eating his lunch bread while looking at his vocabulary notebook, when he encountered two boys. One of them was the Tanaka-kun who had confessed to Furuhashi Fumino that morning.

Hayakawa Haku frowned slightly and walked past the two of them with an expressionless face. He had no desire to interact with people keen on impure relationships.

"You should probably just give up, Tanaka," one boy suddenly said. "It's obviously not going to happen. Girls like that are too high-difficulty."

Hayakawa Haku stopped.

"What do you know?" Tanaka said smugly. "Girls like Furuhashi are easy to deal with. If I confess a few more times, she'll definitely soften up and won't be able to refuse."

"I bet I'll succeed in two more tries," Tanaka showed a self-satisfied smile. "And then, you know~"

The two boys exchanged knowing smiles.

"Hey." A voice came from behind them.

Furuhashi Fumino was holding her bread, intending to return to her classroom. She was walking and reviewing her portable formula book—a habit she had picked up from Hayakawa Haku.

"What kind of joke is that?!" An angry shout suddenly came from ahead. "What gives you the right to butt into her business?"

"I have every right." A familiar voice followed.

Eh? That voice.

Furuhashi Fumino's expression froze. She immediately rushed toward the source of the sound, then secretly peeked around the corner.

She saw two boys lying on the ground. One was face down and half-dead. The other, Tanaka-kun, who had confessed to her that morning, had a bright red punch mark on his face and looked like he had been kicked in the chest. He was angrily shouting up at someone.

Standing over the two of them, looking down, was Hayakawa Haku. He stood with his arms crossed, his expression icy, and a look of mockery in his eyes as he stared at the fallen Tanaka.

Eh? A fight broke out? Did Hayakawa-kun hit those two? Why? Over an argument? Should I call a teacher?

Furuhashi Fumino was hesitating and confused when Tanaka suddenly roared, "Who do you think you are? What's your relationship with Furuhashi Fumino? What right do you have to interfere with me pursuing her?!"

Me?

Hearing her own name suddenly spoken by the fighters, Furuhashi Fumino's thoughts briefly stalled, as if struck by lightning. Then, the next moment, she heard Hayakawa Haku's words.

"Does it need to be said?" Hayakawa Haku pointed his thumb at his chest and said seriously, "Furuhashi Fumino belongs to me."

Furuhashi Fumino: "..."

Brain → Empty.

"What?" Tanaka, whose face had been full of indignation, suddenly looked twisted, as he had completely lost the moral high ground now.

"Didn't you hear me? I won't give up!" Hayakawa Haku reached out and grabbed Tanaka's collar. He said ominously, "Listen to me clearly. Don't let me see you distracting Furuhashi again, or I'll be very troubled."

"Do you understand?!"

"Honestly." Hayakawa Haku watched the two boys run away, brushing the dust off his body. He had taken a few hits himself.

That should solve the problem. That guy probably won't bother Furuhashi anymore, since I made myself so clear.

Furuhashi Fumino belongs to me (as a student and a rival).

I won't give up (on making her study science).

Don't let me see you distracting Furuhashi (from her studies) again.

Or I'll be very troubled (if her science scores drop).

I've expressed Furuhashi's desire to study so clearly, and I even used physical intimidation. That person should now understand Furuhashi's firm dedication to her studies and will hopefully use some common sense.

Seriously... I still have no idea how to get them to pass the monthly exam, and now I have this extra trouble. Ugh...

"So many worries." Hayakawa Haku shook his head helplessly, intending to return to class. When he turned around, he saw Furuhashi Fumino not far away.

Hayakawa Haku: "..."

"Hayakawa-kun," Furuhashi Fumino's face was slightly flushed, but she looked at Hayakawa Haku with a serious expression and said, "Let's talk!"
