The Palace of Zeno.
The projection in the sky was still replaying Whis's final punch.
"Grand Priest, Whis is amazing!"
Zeno's tiny hands clapped together in delight.
A faint, satisfied smile crossed the Grand Priest's face.
"I didn't expect this child to have been hiding his strength all along."
Then, he sighed.
"Still, Whis is far too lazy. Judging by that level of improvement, he must have gained that extra power only during the month he spent training with his elder sister."
"If he had been training seriously for the past few thousand years, his strength would have increased far more than that!"
"Hmph. He wasn't this lazy before—but ever since following Beerus, he's become unbelievably slothful!"
He folded his arms and added dryly,
"Beerus, you've truly outdone yourself."
Universe 7 — The Realm of the Kai.
Half an hour had passed since Whis had thrown that final punch, and everyone had already returned.
"Achoo!"
Beerus sneezed so hard his whiskers twitched.
"Lord Beerus, what's wrong?" Gran asked, tilting his head.
"No idea. Someone must be badmouthing me."
Beerus waved it off. Being disliked wasn't exactly new to him, and he couldn't care less.
"Whis, you—"
Everyone turned toward Whis, even Vados herself.
"Oh-ho-ho~ What's with those looks?"
Whis tilted his head, smiling innocently as though completely unaware of their thoughts.
"Whis, that power just now… was that truly the power of an angel?"
Gran clenched his tiny fists, eyes shining with awe.
That final punch of Whis's… was terrifying.
If it had been unleashed in the mortal realm, half the Zeno multiverse might have been reduced to dust.
"That was indeed angelic power."
Whis coughed lightly, pretending nonchalance.
"I didn't expect you to grow this strong," Vados said with a helpless sigh.
"You really do have the talent to rival your eldest sister."
From now on, it seemed she wouldn't be bullying little Whis anymore.
Indeed—if you're going to hit your little brother, you'd better do it early!
Vados turned toward the petite Kusu with a wistful look.
"Eldest Sister, you must have known about Whis's true power already, didn't you?"
Whis's final strike hadn't actually hit her, but that didn't change the fact that she'd been defeated.
"I knew a little bit~"
Kusu raised her small hand, pinching her fingers together playfully.
Her tone was sweet and teasing.
"You knew—and still told me to spar with him? Eldest Sister, you totally did that on purpose!"
Vados shot her a glare, then cast another toward the nearby Gran.
She'd been told about the boy's potential, but not about Whis's full strength—how was that fair?!
Kusu covered her mouth and giggled.
"Hehe~ You've bullied little Whis since he was young. It's about time he got to turn the tables, don't you think?"
Her gaze softened as it drifted to Whis—warm and proud.
"Eldest Sister is truly wise!"
Whis could feel warmth spreading through his whole body.
He couldn't resist shooting Vados a smug look.
"..."
What an infuriating little brother!
Vados sighed deeply.
She really wanted to hit him—but now she couldn't win anymore.
"Speaking of which… Lord Champa and I—"
Her eyes shifted toward the still-unconscious, pig-faced Champa lying nearby.
With a twitch of irritation, she stepped forward and kicked him hard.
Thud!
"Huh? Morning already?"
Champa sat upright and stretched lazily, yawning wide.
Everyone: "..."
Vados covered her face. Having a God of Destruction like this was downright embarrassing.
"This time, Lord Champa and I admit defeat. We'll be taking our leave."
Vados didn't wish to linger any longer in this place of humiliation.
Not only had she failed to take Gran away, she'd also been beaten by Whis—what else could this be but a painful memory?
"Lord Champa, we're leaving."
She gave a curt nod to the others, grabbed the still-stretching Champa by the arm, and vanished into a streak of seven-colored light.
Kusu watched her go, then calmly turned back to Whis.
"Whis, your fight with Vados—by now, all our brothers and sisters across the universes should know about it."
And indeed
After Whis and Vados left the Void Realm, the other Angels and Destroyers had all gone there themselves.
Finding no one, they had simply returned to their respective universes.
"It's fine," Whis said carefreely.
His strength had always been known to his siblings.
Now that it had improved a little more—so what if they knew?
"You're still just as lazy as ever. At this rate, when will you ever reach my level?" Kusu asked, half scolding, half sighing.
Whis smiled serenely.
"I'm not lazy—I'm enjoying life. Good food, good company… I think that's a fine way to live. Eldest Sister, why don't you take a little break yourself?"
"You—!"
Kusu looked utterly exasperated, as though her patience had finally run dry.
Seeing she was about to launch into another lecture, Whis quickly raised his hands.
"All right, all right! When the time is right, I'll train seriously. Promise!"
Kusu could only stare at him, black lines almost visible across her face.
"You and Beerus both have remarkable talent, but your personalities are equally slothful."
Her tone softened as she turned to Gran, her expression becoming serious.
"Since neither of you intend to train properly for now, then focus your efforts on raising this child well."
"But of course."
Whis reached over and ruffled Gran's hair fondly.
"This little one's got the heart for training. With my guidance, he'll surpass us one day."
Hearing that, Kusu didn't press further.
This little boy truly did have the potential to transcend them.
So be it, she thought with a small smile.
Finally, Kusu too departed from the Realm of the Kai.
