It was the same school, but older โ€” the walls brighter, the halls quieter.

A girl stood by the garden steps, her uniform sleeves rolled up, holding a camera.

And beside her โ€” him.

He was laughing, sunlight tangled in his hair.

"You'll forget someday," he said softly.

"No, I won't," she replied. "I promise."

"Even if the world changes?"

"Even then."

The girl smiled, snapping a picture.

And as the flash faded, I realized with a jolt โ€”

that girl was me.

I woke up gasping, heart racing. The clock read 3:11 a.m.

My window was still open, the rain still whispering.

Was it a dream?

Or a memory?

Next Morning โ€” School Courtyard โ˜€๏ธ

"Okay," Riya said, staring at me over her juice box. "You look like you've seen a ghost."

"I thinkโ€ฆ I saw myself," I said quietly.

Trent blinked. "Well, that's normal. Mirrors exist."

"Not like that!" I snapped.

Riya smacked his arm. "Let her talk."

I told them about the dream โ€” the garden, the promise, the photo.

By the time I finished, Mirai had stopped mid-bite of her sandwich.

"So, wait," she said slowly, "you're saying you met him before โ€” years ago?"

I nodded. "I think so. But I don't remember it happening. Not really."

Riya frowned. "Then what happened to make you forget?"

Trent leaned back. "Plot twist โ€” she's living in a romance reincarnation arc."

"Trent!" Riya scolded, but I could see she was thinking the same thing.

Later โ€” Behind the School Garden ๐ŸŒฟ

I went there alone after class, just to see.

And there it was โ€” the same stone steps from my dream.

Same tree.

Same light.

And right there, carved faintly into the bench โ€” initials.

C.N.R.

My breath hitched.

I touched the letters, and suddenlyโ€”

"You'll forget someday."

"No, I won't."

The words echoed again, not from memory โ€” from somewhere real.

I turned around.

He was standing there.

Same calm eyes, same quiet smile.

But this time, he looked almost relieved.

"You remembered," he said softly.

My throat felt tight. "Iโ€ฆ did I really know you?"

He stepped closer, his voice barely above a whisper.

"You promised you wouldn't forget me, Siena."

And just like that โ€” the world tilted.

Because I finally remembered his name.

"Rianโ€ฆ" I breathed.

He smiled, rain dripping from his hair. "Took you long enough."
