chapter 185 part 1

Chapter 185: Earl of Crab's Claw Peninsula

Glyn crabbe's ears twitched. He looked into the distance and said, "If you treat Queen Cersei as a man, it'll be easier to understand."

Hearing this, Tyrion Lannister grinned at Glyn. "You really are..."

Glyn turned his head to look at him, his brown eyes telling him... this was no joke. Tyrion's smile gradually faded.

On the white marble steps beneath Maegor's Holdfast's main gate sat two figures, one large and one small. The two were Glyn and Tyrion.

Glyn had been very busy these past few days. The Lord Commander of the Gold Cloaks already had many duties, but he still made time... First, he had kindly accompanied Lancel Lannister to patiently endure King Joffrey, then he had affectionately inquired about Grand Maester Pycelle's recent situation, and finally, there was his trade and schemes with Tyrion.

...

On the steps behind them was Cersei Lannister, who had just emerged from the main gate. When she first spotted the two, she paused, momentarily mistaking them for Jaime returning... Queen Cersei had seen many similar scenes in her memories.

A Lioness usually disdained eavesdropping on others' conversations, but today, perhaps on a sudden whim, she wanted to listen.

Queen Cersei gestured for those beside her to stay, then walked down the steps alone... The wind direction was favorable today, so she didn't need to get too close to hear clearly.

...

Tyrion was silent for a moment, then said, "So... in my sister's eyes, all the men in the Red Keep are delicate beauties?"

Glyn chuckled, "Lord Tyrion, you underestimate Queen Cersei too much. In her eyes, the men here are at most prostitutes."

"Haha... the more I think about it, the more sense it makes..."

Tyrion's laughter was like a sigh of reflection. He continued, "My good sister is indeed a Lannister Lioness. It's truly surprising that you, of all people, understand Cersei best. I think you understand her better than the Old Man (of the Seven) himself."

Glyn smiled and shook his head.

Tyrion sighed, paused, and then said, "No one will think like her. Most people prefer to believe their own eyes. Whether it's the truth or a rumor, it will ultimately be detrimental to her rule."

Glyn asked, "Do you think Queen Cersei fears others' tongues?"

Tyrion was startled for a moment, then chuckled, "My good sister would be happier ripping out others' tongues."

Glyn reached out and lightly patted Tyrion's small shoulder, saying, "So, Lord Hand's task is to rip out the tongues of whoever Queen Cersei wants removed."

Tyrion couldn't help but shiver, exclaiming, "They'll hate me to death, I'll die."

Glyn stated directly, "You are a Lannister. You can't escape it."

Tyrion scratched his hair. "I should have known. How could the Old Lion give me a good assignment? He hates me more than Cersei."

He then asked, "Lord Glyn, is it still not too late for me to lick the Regent Queen's boots?"

Glyn shrugged slightly. "May the gods protect you."

Tyrion reached out and grabbed Glyn's arm, pressing on, "Is it still possible?"

Glyn was silent for a moment, then said, "You are Lannisters, after all. I think Queen Cersei might give you one chance, provided she sees your loyalty."

"I was just joking with you earlier..."

Tyrion lightly coughed, then said, "Glyn, you shouldn't trust your eyes too much. Actually, my sister and I have a very deep bond. We just have a different way of joking compared to other Houses; we love each other dearly."

His eyes shifted, and he whispered, "Hey, I'll tell you a secret about my sister, you listen up..."

"What secret?"

Queen Cersei's cold voice suddenly rang out. Tyrion immediately jumped up and then strangely turned to stand properly.

Tyrion blinked, forcing a smile onto his face. "Beautiful and charming Regent Queen, please allow me to pay my respects."

After speaking, he knelt on one knee towards Queen Cersei, lowering his head.

Queen Cersei's emerald eyes stared at the humble, prostrate Hand of the King for a moment, then she snorted coldly and said, "Watch your tongue, Tyrion."

Tyrion clasped his chest and said, "I will certainly remember, esteemed Regent Queen."

Queen Cersei's gaze shifted, glancing at Glyn who stood nearby, then she slowly walked down the steps.

Within Tyrion's line of sight, burgundy boots appeared first, then were covered by a burgundy skirt.

Tyrion, with his head bowed, let out a soft sigh... Good thing he really couldn't do it.

Queen Cersei's voice came from above Tyrion: "I have something urgent to attend to. I'm entrusting you with today's inspection of the defenses at the River Gate (which the people of King's Landing prefer to call the Mud Gate), Lord Hand Tyrion."

After speaking, she lightly glanced at Glyn again.

Tyrion respectfully said, "Merciful Regent Queen, this is my honor. I will meticulously inspect every nook and cranny."

"Lord Glyn, come with me," Queen Cersei turned and ascended the steps.

"As you command, Queen Cersei."

Before stepping onto the stairs, Glyn expressionlessly glanced back at Tyrion. Tyrion happened to look up just then; their gazes met, and both gave a subtle nod at the same time.

...

Glyn silently followed behind Queen Cersei, passing through the gates and hall of Maegor's Holdfast, and then through three wooden doors. For the first time, he arrived at the secret garden behind Maegor's Holdfast.

Glyn looked around. The garden was filled with exotic flowers and rare plants, displaying vibrant colors under the sunlight. The scent of flowers permeated the air, fresh and pleasant.

Glyn's eyes flickered slightly; he saw a swing bearing the marks of time.

Queen Cersei stopped after entering a small pavilion.

After standing silently with her back to him for a moment, Queen Cersei softly said, "This garden, I brought it from Dragonstone."

Glyn smelled the scent of a golden Dragon amidst the flower fragrance.

Queen Cersei turned around and walked over to Glyn's side. After staring for a moment, she suddenly slapped at him, but Glyn dodged it with a slight lean back.

She furiously demanded, "You dare to dodge?!"

Glyn replied with an apologetic smile, "Queen Cersei, I am a half-wildling warrior. My body is faster than my mind. Please forgive my body..."

The Lioness's eyes flashed with sparks of fury. She interrupted furiously, "Samwell is also a Warrior! Why didn't he dodge?!"

Glyn: "..."

Samwell got slapped by Cersei? Glyn immediately pulled back his thoughts that had almost gone astray.

Glyn thought for a moment, then gave up on finding an excuse. He first mentally armed himself with some 'chicken soup for the soul' from his past life memories, then gritted his teeth and said, "This time, I'll control my body properly."

Queen Cersei stared intently at Glyn, her face ashen, like the sky before a coming storm.

Glyn's tone was probing: "You heard everything?"

Queen Cersei coldly retorted, "Are you too? Glyn the prostitute?"

As she spoke, Queen Cersei's fair hand reached out, gently stroking Glyn's cheek.
