Chapter 114: Dragon's Wrath

Pentos.

At the harbor, Dik came to see Glyn off.

The night before, with Magister Illyrio's cooperation, Glyn's soldiers had caused quite a stir in Pentos.

Glyn reached out and patted Dik's arm, saying warmly, "Dik, I'm leaving things here in your hands."

Dik nodded slightly. "Lord Glyn, I will never disgrace the Clegane name."

After speaking, Dik's eyes darted around their surroundings as he lowered his voice. "I sense many eyes in the shadows watching us."

His demeanor at that moment was that of an amateur thief.

Glyn chuckled lightly. "Dik, no matter where you go, remember to bring enough guards."

Glyn's words stunned Dik for a moment. *Is the Lord worried about my safety?*

A wave of emotion washed over Dik. His face filled with excitement as he declared loudly, "Lord Glyn, I will certainly not disappoint you."

Glyn nodded slightly and said, "Remember the House words: 'United, We Are a Fortress'."

"I will etch them into my memory!"

Glyn patted Dik again, then turned and boarded the *Mermaid*.

Following a booming shout from Reik Snow, the sailors bustled about for a time before the *Mermaid* slowly departed from Pentos Harbor.

Glyn stood on the deck at the stern, gazing quietly at the Magister's manse.

Monton Waters, dressed in a coarse cloth robe with a warhammer tucked into his belt, stood guard at his side.

Glyn turned his head, glanced at Monton, and asked, "What is it?"

The fat on Monton's body visibly trembled.

Monton possessed an animal-like intuition, and it was this very intuition that had led him to find Glyn, the "Beast King."

Although Glyn rarely participated in actual combat, Monton could sense his terrifying power.

Monton was well aware that if Glyn wished it, he could cut down his enemies like blocks of cheese at any moment, and that included himself.

Glyn was always gentle, and he treated his own people with even greater warmth. Monton, with his innate gift, felt this most deeply.

Under normal circumstances, Monton wouldn't have been startled by a simple, casual question from Glyn.

The reason was that he had a guilty conscience.

Monton scratched his large head and stammered, "I... The roasted meat in Pentos has a special flavor. I was just wondering when Anguy will be back."

Glyn: "..."

...

...

Night fell upon Illyrio's manse.

After nearly a month of contact with Glyn, Daenerys felt as if she had suddenly grown up.

Though the time was brief, she had come to see clearly many things that were once incomprehensible.

Perhaps Daenerys was a born ruler, merely needing the right opportunity to blossom.

Daenerys sat upright in her chair, watching the slowly approaching Illyrio with a faint, unreadable smile on her face.

Illyrio noticed that today's Daenerys seemed somewhat different from usual.

Though his face remained calm, his heart grew cautious and vigilant.

As he drew near, Illyrio took the initiative to bow and said, "Good evening, Your Highness."

Daenerys nodded slightly and spoke. "Magister Illyrio, has Lord Glyn left? Please, have a seat."

Illyrio bowed his head in thanks. "Princess Daenerys, please rest assured. Today's weather is exceptionally suitable for a sea voyage."

At that moment, Daenerys's new handmaidens, Borona and Osanna, brought in wine glasses and a bottle.

Borona and Osanna were both originally centurions in the Thorn Legion. Although they now had new identities, they seemed to be adapting quite well.

The two of them set down glasses for Daenerys and Illyrio, then took the bottle and filled them to the brim.

"This is a Summer Red that Lord Glyn gave me. They say it comes from Dorne in Westeros. It's wonderfully sweet. I fell in love with it after the first sip."

After speaking, Daenerys took a sip of the Summer Red and continued, "Magister Illyrio, a man of your vast experience must have tasted it long ago... but I, who have drifted from place to place with Viserys since I was a child, am tasting it for the first time."

Illyrio smiled humbly and said respectfully, "Summer Red is brewed from honey plums, cherries, and black currants, which gives it a fruity aroma. Anyone who tastes it can't help but marvel at its wonderful taste.

"Summer Red is extremely popular in Westeros. Whether in the far north beyond the Wall, in Dorne to the south, or in King's Landing, it is the most beloved wine at any noble feast."

Daenerys listened with a faint smile. After Illyrio finished, she praised, "You are indeed a man of vast knowledge."

Illyrio bowed his head. "When His Grace, Viserys, takes back the Iron Throne, all of Westeros will return to House Targaryen. Every single thing there will be yours to enjoy."

The corners of Daenerys's lips curled up. "And my brother?"

"During this time, His Grace, Viserys, has been busy gathering warships to cross the Narrow Sea. Although the King is diligent, he misses the Princess greatly. He has just returned. If you wait just a moment, Your Highness, you will be able to see His Grace."

"How coincidental..." Daenerys smiled faintly. "I must say, that is good news."

Illyrio's eyes shifted slightly. "It seems Your Highness has good news to share with the King. His Grace will surely be very pleased."

Daenerys did not deny it. She spoke again, "Magister Illyrio, ten thousand soldiers are not enough to take back the Iron Throne."

Illyrio's smile froze for an instant. "When the troops of His Grace, Viserys, set foot in Westeros, the lords and noble houses will surely rise up in support and follow their true King. The common people will let out a righteous roar, fighting for their true King, and sweep across the Seven Kingdoms."

Daenerys listened with a faint smile, then shook her head. "Ten thousand soldiers are still not enough. The barbarian husband you chose for me—how many soldiers does he have in total?"
