Chapter 106 - chapter 94 part 2

chapter 94 part 2

[That summer, Glyn, with his hands in his pockets, looked around... and found an opponent.]

Glyn had to stand up, spreading his arms toward Petyr, his voice filled with gratitude: "Lord Petyr, thank you for your generosity. House Clegane will remember it in our hearts."

"You're welcome. Consider it a gift for your promotion to lordship."

Petyr also spread his arms, embracing Glyn and lightly patting his back a few times.

After sitting down again, Petyr relaxed his legs and leaned back against the chair. "Not long from now, you will see them at Mermaid Port. Those honest Northerners, traveling day and night, are rushing to pledge their loyalty to you."

"In the game of power, there is no goodwill without cause, let alone from the ever-shrewd Petyr."

"What could Petyr Baelish's purpose be?"

"The Vale..." A slight smile appeared on Glyn's face. "Lord Petyr, thank you again. I am now free of worries."

*Knock, knock, knock.* After the knock on the door, two young women entered the room.

One had red hair and blue eyes, the other had golden hair and blue eyes.

Their skin was like milk, and their enchanting figures were even more alluring under the candlelight.

Petyr blinked an eye, pointed at the golden-haired, blue-eyed maiden, and said to Glyn, "Lord Glyn, you still need the inspiration of beauties. Tonight is a night of no return."

So Petyr liked this. Glyn understood Petyr in an instant.

Glyn looked up and laughed... Well, this could also be considered a disguised victory.

"..."

"..."

That night in King's Landing, Clegane's new residence.

"Only here is there light."

The study door was pushed open, and Tyrion Lannister stepped inside.

Immersed in his books, Samwell heard the movement and looked up from the book towards the doorway.

The door opened, and he seemed to hear a voice... but found no figure.

Samwell shivered, and a look of terror appeared on his face.

"Fat boy, look down. You make me feel offended."

Samwell regained his composure, and quickly looked towards the direction of the voice.

Samwell and Tyrion's gazes met.

Samwell startled, quickly stood up, and hurriedly apologized, "Good evening, Lord Tyrion, I... I did not intend to offend."

Tyrion ignored Samwell, climbed onto the chair and sat down, glancing at the open book. "What are you reading?"

Samwell replied reservedly, "It's a book about giant dragons."

Tyrion said with interest, "Samwell, you also like giant dragons? Also, sit down. I don't like darkness. Your body is blocking the candlelight."

"Sorry, my lord."

With a thump, Samwell hurriedly sat down.

"Clegane's territory places great emphasis on archery, and I am researching... The book says dragon bones are black because of their high iron content, making them as hard as iron. Yet, their material is extremely light and resilient, so bows made from dragon bone can easily surpass the range of wooden bows and arrows."

Tyrion listened patiently, then spoke, "It seems you've found your own path, the eldest son of the renowned general Randyll?"

Samwell moved his lips, silently lowering his head.

"My question seems to have affected your mood, I apologize. Attendants are generally not very observant. Historically, my predecessors, who performed tricks and sold their art, dressed casually and spoke without restraint, and I am no exception."

Tyrion's words brought a shy smile to Samwell's face.

Tyrion nodded with satisfaction. "You're not bad at all; you can understand my humor. In all King's Landing, besides Glyn, there's now one more person like you."

Samwell sheepishly scratched the back of his head.

Tyrion grinned and chuckled, saying, "Randyll Tarly's eldest son, eh?"

A hint of sadness appeared on Samwell's face. "Lord Tyrion, I am Randyll Tarly's son. He... he doesn't like me. I have already left that place."

Tyrion shrugged and said, "Another poor wretch who can't get his father's love."

Samwell understood the implication behind Tyrion's words and asked in confusion, "I'm sorry, I can't imagine you being so troubled."

Tyrion laughed heartily. "Sam, you have a smart brain. I like that."

Samwell smiled shyly.

Tyrion propped himself with one hand, half his body leaning out of the chair. With the other hand, he pulled the open book closer. "Giant dragons are interesting knowledge. When I was your age, I often dreamed of having my own dragon... What do your eyes mean? Haven't you ever had such a dream?"

Samwell honestly admitted, "I did, but there are no more giant dragons in the world."

"So you've already recognized the cruel reality so early? I, at least, deceived myself for many more years."

"You prefer giant dragons."

"Hahaha, so you don't want to break the illusion?"

Tyrion shook his head and said, "I like giant dragons because if I could ride on a dragon's back, even a stunted, twisted, ugly little boy like me could mock the whole world. My wretched childhood..."
