I stared at Mia in disbelief. "So, you're telling me that you didn't actually know anything? You just assumed something was wrong and decided to freak me out?" I asked, trying to keep my tone light .
Mia nodded sheepishly, inching away from me as if she were anticipating my reaction. "I guess so. I just didn't want you to be caught off guard," she admitted.
I sighed, rubbing my temples to ease the tension building within me. "Mia, you're my best friend, but sometimes your antics drive me crazy. Can't you just let me deal with my own problems for once?"
As my words hung in the air, Mia's expression fell, hurt evident on her face. "I was just trying to help, Alex. I didn't mean to stress you out," she replied softly.
Feeling guilty, I got up and wrapped her in a hug. "I know, Mia. And I appreciate it. It's just... this thing with Mr. Gregory has me really spooked. I don't know what he wants, but I have a bad feeling about it."
Mia's expression turned serious as she nodded in support. "We'll face it together, Alex. Whatever it is, we'll deal with it as a team."
A smile crept onto my face as I felt a surge of gratitude toward my friend. "Thanks, Mia," I said sincerely.
With a playful grin, Mia pointed at herself and declared, "That makes me the best friend in the world!" It was as if she expected the universe to agree with her statement.
I chuckled and teased, "Well, if the gossip is true, you should be the one who becomes his new victim." This earned a dramatic reaction from Mia; she choked on her drink and gagged slightly.
"Please never say that again, not even to your worst enemy!" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with discomfort.
I laughed, replying, "That would be a punishment as bad as hell."
The phone starts ringing, putting a halt on the happy vibe that was going on; I rush over to my desk and answer it.
"Hello," I answer, waiting to hear who it is on the other end; I hear a bunch of people talking and picking up on the words that make me feel like vomiting.
"Alexia, I don't know what you did, did you little who, but, John needs you in his office,e, " the voice says before hanging up on me .
"Who was it ?" Mia asks, looking concerned.
"Tiffany, "I say my voice a little shaky , Tiffany was the current plaything of Mr Gregory and it wasn't a secret, she loved showing off the things he got her and she hardly did anything at work she just either sat on her desk slacking of she was in Mr Gregory for hours before coming looking like she was recently fuck cause she was.
Oh geez, what are we going to do? "Mia says, pacing back and forth; I hold her hand to stop her pace.
"I am going to be fine; let's not get overwhelmed by all this nonsense, "I say, trying to sound calm, but I was not; JJ was far from it.
"Are you sure, I have stuff to do, but if you need me, say the word, and I will leave it all, "she asks, holding me
"Yes, I will be fine; go and do your stuff; I will tell you everything later," I tell her, practically pushing her out because she has stayed for so long, and she was as busy as I was.
"You better or you are dead," she says dramatically, dragging her hand over her neck .
As I walked into the office, I couldn't help but notice the way Mr. Gregory's eyes lingered on me. It was a familiar feeling, one that made my skin crawl.
"Good morning, Alexia," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I see you're recovering well from your accident."
I nodded, trying to keep my distance. "Yes, thank you. I'm just trying to get back to work."
Mr. Gregory smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad to hear that. You're one of my most valuable employees, after all."
I felt a shiver run down my spine as he stepped closer to me. "I appreciate your concern, Mr. Gregory," I said, trying to keep my tone neutral.
But he just kept smiling, his eyes locked on mine. I knew that look, that tone. It was the same one he used on all the women in the office, the same one that made us all feel uncomfortable and trapped.
I took a step back, trying to create some distance between us. "If you'll excuse me, Mr. Gregory, I have a lot of work _."
"Please, call me John," he interrupted, his eyes locked on mine.
I felt a shiver run down my spine. "John."
He smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I've been thinking, Alexia. You have a lot of potential. You're smart, talented... and beautiful."
I felt my skin crawl as he stood up and walked around his desk, his eyes never leaving mine.
"I can help you climb the corporate ladder, Alexia. I can make sure you get the promotions, the raises... everything you want."
He stopped in front of me, his face inches from mine.
"But I need something from you in return."
My heart was racing now, my mind racing with possibilities.
"What do you want?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
Mr. Gregory smiled again, his eyes glinting with desire.
"I want you to sleep with me."
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"I... I don't think that's a good idea," I stuttered.
Mr. Gregory chuckled, his eyes never leaving mine.
"Oh, come on, Alexia. Don't be shy. You know you want it."
I felt a wave of revulsion wash over me. I knew I had to get out of there, fast.
"I'm not interested," I said, trying to keep my voice firm.
Mr. Gregory's smile faltered for a moment before he regained his composure.
"Ever since I saw you change in your office during an office party a few weeks ago, I haven't stop thinking about you".
"How...how did you see me?" I stuttered, my voice barely above a whisper.
He raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable. "I was looking for you. I didn't expect to find you...like that."
My mind was racing with horror as I imagined him watching me, his eyes roving over my body as I changed. I felt exposed, vulnerable, and utterly humiliated.
" and let's just say that ..... I enjoyed the show very much " his eyes seemed to gleam with amusement, and I could have sworn I saw a hint of a smile playing on his lips. It was as if he was savoring the memory of what he had seen, and that thought made my skin crawl.
I felt a wave of nausea wash over me, and I looked away, unable to meet his gaze. "Just shut up," I whispered, my voice trembling with rage and embarrassment.
"who knew that behind your hideous clothes ,you were hiding that body " he says in a daze as if his mind wasn't really there because it wasn't
"so about my very generous offer you better do the right thing if you know what is good for you, "he says, his hand gripping my thighs.
I was in a horrible situation, I needed to make the right choice or I will regret it .
"Fine "
