Chapter 9 - Face of the school

 BRYAN POV:

Avery didn't continue hitting Adrian. She threw the pillow on the floor.

"Ria said if you are done being cupped up in your room you should come out for dinner." Avery said. "Including you Bryan." She added referring to me.

"Yeah, just go." Adrian said still holding me. I really wanted to lean in but I knew not to push it, so I used picking up the pillows on the floor as an excuse to leave his hold.

Adrian didn't seem to notice as he jumped back on the bed.

"Aren't you going down for dinner?" I asked.

"You can go without me." Adrian said focused on his phone.

"Come on Adrian, let's go together." I said dragging him off the bed. He stared at me obviously tired of me but still he stood up.

We both went downstairs and Rihanna and Avery were not the only ones there. Eden (Adrian's older brother) and his wife Hannah were also their together with there ten year old twins Jane and Jared.

They were all chatting happily untill they saw us to be exact saw Adrian.

"You finally grace us with your presence." Eden said with a slight smile which disappeared when Adrian ignored him to talk to Jane and Jared who had at a point in time ran and hugged Adrian.

"I heard you were so angry that you locked your self in your room." Jane asked blinking her big eyes at Adrian.

"That's what dad said but uncle Adrian is no the type to stay angry for long, right?" Jared asked. The twins kept throwing questions at Adrian to which he just kept quiet while the kids went on.

I greeted Eden and his wife before sitting down next to Avery while Adrian sat next to me.

 ADRIAN'S POV:

After the incident with Avery, I had used it as a excuse to escape from going to that place filled with noisy teenagers trying to be something they are not.

Avery always came to check on me but I ignored her.

I was surprised when Bryan came to check on be and to be honest I was glad he did.

Somehow, unknown to me I liked having him around me. The way he arranged my room like it was his.

Even when he complained about that so called Mickey, I couldn't help but respond to him.

I won't say I was okay with him always being involved with me but I least I could tolerate his presence more than anybody else.

When I held him to block me from Avery, I could feel the warmth of his skin against me and I could swore I heard his heartbeat and when he pulled away in disguise of picking up the pillows I couldn't help but smile.

I was becoming more convinced that Bryan was gay.

At the dinner table, Eden and Hannah kept on asking me and Avery this and that about studies and other stuffs which Avery was the one answering must of them.

Bryan was also involved in thier conversation. Eden knew Bryan very well just to show you how often Bryan came over.

"Adrian, I heard the argument between you and Avery started because you punched someone at school?" Eden asked.

F**k, I thought this matter had been put to rest, while is he bringing it up again.

He raised his eyebrow when I didn't answer. Eden, unlike the others, wants an answer each time he speaks to me.

 "Yes." I answered slowly.

"And what was the fight about?" He asked, giving me the 'i will slap you if the reason is not good'.

"Come on babe, leave the boy alone." Hannah said coming to my rescue. "And beside teenage boys fight about many things, you can't expect him to tell you." She added with a smile as she placed her hands on Eden hands that where on the table.

Eden looded at his wife for a while before throwing me a glare. "Am gonna let the matter die, but if I hear of another fight, trust me you won't like what I do."

"Hey, Eden, enough of the threats." Ria said dropping down her spoon.

"You always spoil this kids and it's not good." Eden said to Ria.

"Am not the only one spoiling them, what about your wife." Ria said pointing at Hannah.

"Ria!, Is that how weak our friendship is that you have to drag me under the bus with you?" Hannah said in fake anger.

"No our friendship is strong to the extend that we have to face every problems together." Ria said and every body on the table laughed to which I gave a slight smile.

Dinner finished and every one gathered in the sitting room and was chatting, playing and just having fun. Although I was not practically involved, I still felt the joy and laughter of everyone here and it was comforting.

"Bryan, I heard you have an upcoming match?" Eden asked. He was an alumni of our school and also part of the basketball team.

"Yes, against the stickers." Bryan answered.

Eden asked him more questions before moving to Avery, asking her about her studies and about the student council and I knew I was next.

"Adrian how is your studies?" He asked.

"Come on Eden, is that even a question to ask." Ria said with pride, cause, despite the fact that I didn't like anything to bother me and with how much I hated schooling, I can still boast of being the best student in terms of academy performance.

"Yeah." Avery seconded Ria. "He is still the best, that he was asked to be the face of the school but since he didn't turn in the consent form you where supposed to sign, the position was given to someone else." Avery said.

"Avery!!!" I shouted cause that was suppose to be a secret since I didn't give the form to any of them to sign.

Now Ria, Eden, Hannah and even Bryan were looking at me with shock.

"Avery explain what you just said." Eden said to Avery in a stern voice while giving me 'you are in trouble' look.

Avery looked at me wish an apologetic look.

"Adrian was nominated to be the face of the school for this session but he didn't summit the guidian concent form for you to sign.
