Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: First Hunt and Insane Damage

A black-and-golden figure could be seen leaping from one tree to another with nimble movements.

"This feels so much better than my warrior class. I feel so fast," said Seojin, enjoying the wind brushing his face.

"Now that I think about it, I still have some unused points."

Seojin opened his Character Panel and was about to put all his points into Constitution, but stopped at the last second.

"Oh, right… I'm not a warrior anymore," he said, and allocated everything into Agility.

"Feels weird putting points into Agility when I always used to put them into Constitution or Strength," Seojin remembered from his previous life.

As soon as he distributed the points, his movements became smoother, and his speed increased. He had already surpassed normal human limits and entered the territory of the superhumans.

While scouting for suitable monsters to test his new skills, he noticed two people struggling against a single mob.

'Oh, someone was brave enough to step out of town,' thought Seojin.

Upon closer observation, he realized they weren't fighting—they were running.

"Brother Poop, why are you running with me? Didn't we just confirm our brotherhood? How can you not fight to protect your brother?"

"You bastard! Who are you calling Brother Poop? Call me Prince! And you started running first. Why don't you fight?!"

"I just started cultivating, so I'm not strong enough yet."

"Cultivating? Stop saying stupid stuff and keep running. Maybe the monster will get tired, and then we can finish it off."

While the two idiots argued and ran, Seojin opened his Battle Status panel to check his weapon and gear, losing interest in the pair. If it were the old Seojin, he would have jumped in to help without a second thought. But that version of him had died in the ancient ruin.

[Iron Dagger (Crude): Attack +10]

According to his stats, his damage was well above beginner level. With his skills, he could nearly one-shot any Crude-tier monster and potentially Common or Uncommon-tier monsters on a critical hit.

But there was one major problem:

'The monsters can one-shot me too,' Seojin thought.

Right now, he had a glass cannon build. Early-level fights were dangerous, especially if more than one monster attacked at a time. He needed to find solo monsters.

Monsters in GFS weren't like typical RPG enemies. Although they appeared mindless at first glance, that wasn't the case at all.

The monsters could adapt to their surroundings, form hunting groups, and never stayed in one place for long. They constantly shifted territories, making them unpredictable. But the most annoying part was their instinct to flee — whenever their health dropped too low or they sensed defeat, they'd simply turn tail and run.

After surveying the area, Seojin used [Vanish] and leapt from the tree toward the monster.

At this stage, although some monsters did possess invisibility detection skills, they would not work on Seojin as he had the Stealth +1.

Upon reaching the monster, Seojin plunged his dagger into the monster's back.

[You landed a CRITICAL HIT!!]

[Damage: 150]

The monster died instantly, leaving a loot orb.

[Acquired TLE: 5]

[Acquired NTLE: 5]

[Acquired Exp: 10]

Seojin was amazed at his damage. In the early days of his previous life, fighting a monster like this had been a life-or-death struggle for him. And he clearly remembers that his max damage at that time had only been in the twenties.

"This damage is insane," he muttered, astonished.

Just as he went to check his loot, two figures hesitantly approached.

"Um… excuse me, Mister Organiser-nim, thank you for saving us," said one.

'Oh right, they survived. They were fighting a Reaper and survived. Impressive,' Seojin thought.

Out of curiosity, he checked their names.

[Poop Eating Prince]

[Cultivating Immortal Dragon]

'…'

The first name left him speechless. He closed the panel, sighed, and wondered what the fxck was wrong with this guy.

"Um, Mister Organiser-nim, would you like to team up with us?"

Seojin considered their offer. Although they had weird names, they did not look like bad people.

'Monsters rarely roam alone. They could help distract enemies while I attack, letting me maximize my skills and damage.'

But then he remembered his previous life and Hyunwoo's words—he shook his head. He clearly had no eye to judge people.

"I'm sorry. I prefer going solo."

"Oh… haha… It's totally fine. Thank you for saving us anyway," said Poop Eating Prince.

"Let's go and not disturb Mr. Organiser, Brother Poop," said the other.

"Oi! Stop calling me Poop! It's Prince!"

As they bickered, Seojin interrupted them.

"The name is Loki. You can check it by swiping your hand over me."

They looked at each other and followed his instructions.

"Oh, it's true! You can really do it!"

"What are your classes?" Seojin continued.

One carried a sword and shield, the other a spear. The sword user's starting equipment was clearly better, indicating a higher-tier class. Higher-tier classes grant better starting gear and more functionality, which improve further with class advancement. He still had not properly checked everything his gear had to offer.

"I'm a Spearman (Common-tier), and he's a Sword and Shield Warrior (Rare-tier)."

"Have you allocated your Free Attribute Points?"

"Not yet, we were still deciding."

"Since both your classes derive from the Warrior class, focus on Strength and Constitution. The rest of the stats you can get from items. And since you're a shield warrior, you need to be on the front lines…"

Out of nowhere, Seojin started lecturing them on battle tactics and stat distribution. And they too listened carefully.

Seojin didn't know why he did it—was it because they reminded him of his naive, clueless self? Or because their bickering echoed his early days with Hyunwoo? He couldn't tell.

After finishing, he added,

"Don't trust others too easily. I could have killed both of you and taken your Life Essence. This world is dangerous, and trusting the wrong person can get you killed."

Then he vanished into the darkness.

"Sigh… what am I even doing? I don't have time for this," he muttered, picking up his speed and running deeper into the forest.

"Let's continue leveling and get those bonus points."
