Throughout that week, Mara is secretly watching Lucas' house to know if he's back. After two weeks later, Lucas finally comes home. Mara laughs and says to herself, "You won't see what's coming." š
The next day, Mara and Jayden went to Lucas' house again, this time with a plan. Just as they see Lucas' car approaching, Jayden puts down his hoodie and pulls a knife, pretending to attack Mara for her things. Mara screams out for help. Lucas, seeing the scene, stops his car and rushes over. Jayden kicks Mara to the ground and runs off. Mara's on the ground, groaning.
Lucas reaches out and helps her up. "Are you okay?"
Mara nods. Lucas immediately notices how beautiful Mara is, and he becomes interested in her.
Mara starts crying. "My money, what should I do now? I'm doomed."
Lucas says, "It's okay. Such things happen. You should go home and rest."
Mara cries harder. "Home? I don't have a home. My uncle kicked me out after I refused his attempt at sexual intercourse..."
Lucas looks at her, thinking of how to help her. Mara pretends to faint. Lucas immediately calls one of his bodyguards to take his car in, while he carries Mara inside the mansion. š
Few hours later
Mara wakes up after a few hours. She sits up and asks, "Did I actually fall asleep?"
Lucas is sitting beside her. "You passed out."
Mara looks at him, thinking to herself, "Idiot, I was faking it." š She smiles slightly and responds to Lucas, "Thank you for helping me."
Lucas replies, "You're welcome."
She nods and stands up. "I'll get going now. Thank you again." She starts walking towards the door.
Lucas doesn't say anything, just watches her. Meanwhile, Mara's thinking, "Say something. How can you be playing hard to get in front of a lady?"
As Mara's about to open the door, Lucas walks up to her, holds her hand, and says, "You don't have to leave. You can stay here until you settle down properly."
Mara asks, "Really?"
Lucas nods. "Yes. I'll go make you something to eat."
He leaves. Mara sighs and jumps up. "Yes!" She looks around the room and sits down on the bed.
"This used to be my parents' room. I missed them." š
